I don't think they're going to release DA4 on PS4. Remember the trouble they got into last time where PS3 owners of DAI couldn't even get all the DLC?

Playstation isn't going to give Bioware a headsup. Either PS5 will be released before they're finalizing such decisions or they don't. I know an interview, perhaps in the book Blood, Sweat, and Pixels, had one of the devs saying that mass releasing on so many platforms was a mistake.

Microsoft has dropped some pretty big hints that the next console is sooner rather than later. They just revealed they're deep into architecting the next console, and they've just bought up five more studios in what will presumably be an extremely intimidating launch line up. Microsoft will likely drive when the next console generation will start because they likely want this one over with. They made mistakes, their console was underpowered because they were concentrating on network stuff, so when they wound that back the playstation had a clear advantage. Their software exclusives were weak, so playstation had the advantage. Sony would want the current gen to last longer than MS, but MS wants this one over with which has led some analysts to predict we may even see a release Dec next year (unlikely).

If they are using these studios for launch titles, you are looking at 3 years minimum before these games would be able to come out. And given that Xbox has been heavily criticised for lack of exclusives I don't see them wanting to go for launch without these titles ready. Late 2020 is prob the earliest they will go for. Personally, I think it's likely more 2021 at the earliest for both Sony and Xbox. I don't really see how they are going to bring a significant advancement for their consoles at a reasonable price before that point. The Xbox X is still really expensive for example.

Jay Watamaniuk @jaywatamaniuk Another use, I find, to a fancy game trailer besides building hype is to provide inspiration when I'm tired and working late or just had a bad day at the studio. I watch the (Anthem) trailer, nod, and get back to work with a little spring in my step.
Mary Kirby @biomarykirby Okay, but the BEST use of game trailers -- hear me out on this one -- is finding out which Queen songs they synch up to. I'm just going to throw, "Princes of the Universe" out there for this one.
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes Or Carry On Wayward Son. I remember us playing DAI’s trailer to that in the writing room. On your computer, actually.
Mary Kirby @biomarykirby That was weirdly the best choice for that Inquisition trailer.
Can also verify that "Bohemian Rhapsody" works oddly well.

Hope this eases the minds and hearts of all those people who are worried that Anthem won't do well, heralding the end of BioWare and thus Dragon Age. Looks like it's been pretty popular at E3, helped no doubt by Mark Darrah's week-long twitter marathon of question answering - often the same questions over and over. If he were an Evanuris, his domain would almost certainly be patience! Mind you, this is from only one source (IGN). Peer Schneider @peerignAs promised, here is the final popularity ranking for E3 games, based on IGN traffic for the entire E3 week. Remember, some games were revealed prior to E3 (Pokemon, CoD) and thus don't show up here. Have fun! And thanks for reading and watching! Peer Schneider @peerignSince there are many questions, here’s the rest of the field.

I have noticed on Twitter that the response has been generally positive, outside of the "BioWare is dead" and the "EA is the Devil" crowd. (To be clear, you're OK for thinking that EA is a money-grubbing heartless corporation. They're just not the Literal Devil. For one thing, they don't even own a casino.)

@patrickweekes, we're having a bit of a disagreement on the DA Reddit. Does Solas really and truly love a Romancing Inquisitor? The opposing view is you can care for and respect someone deeply, feel attracted to them and not be truly in love, and she's a passing fancy. Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes

Considering he goes on to stalk her in her dreams, I'm going to say it's veered toward unhealthy obsession at that point.
If I were a Solasmancer, my headcanon would be that I was supremely pissed off at the whole situation and want nothing more to do with him. I'd be even more pissed that he won't let me be even in my sleep.

If I were a Solasmancer, my headcanon would be that I was supremely pissed off at the whole situation and want nothing more to do with him. I'd be even more pissed that he won't let me be even in my sleep. *tsk, tsk* That only happens if Lavellan expresses her love for him in the end and chooses a 'redeem' path. Plus, the epilogue is pretty clear that she reaches for him when she senses him and keeps searching, dreaming and waiting for some sort of solution. It's hardly a one-way street In other words, we don't even know whether Solas shows on the edges of her dream specifically 'cuz he pines after her, or is it because they have feelings for one another - or specifically because she searches for him or things related to him. It's established in the narrative that people having some sort of emotional bond do connect in some way with one another in the Fade - nevermind that time in Skyhold where Inquisitor has unconsciously found him and Solas has even expressed surprise at that, given that (in his estimation) not even a mage Inky should have been able to do that. And that was when both of them were just vaguely friendly towards one another. Is it possible that Inky dreams with the same clarity without an Anchor? Dunno, but Dreamers certainly don't need one and given that Inkys could have some training in that regard doesn't exclude it as a possibility.

It would definitely be creepy stalking if she had vowed to stop him, whatever the cost, and he comes to visit her in her dreams.

the truth is that there is no way to answer this without getting into spoiler territory I think this is more interesting because it implies there probably was at least one alternative significant other in Solas' life, which makes sense really given he's been around an awfully long time. To be honest why should he not have someone he loved greatly in the past and yet still love Lavellan in the present? I would agree, though, that the haunting of dreams thing is as much due to her longing for him as he is for her, so even if she was initially just a passing fancy, now he can't get rid of her. That's the downside to being a Dreamer.

While the betrayal would sting nonetheless regardless if it was done by someone he considered a brother, a mother or just a really good friend (or a group of them), somebody must've broken his trust to a point where he repeats 'I don't trust anyone!' almost as frequently as 'I saw it in the Fade'... Could it possibly be his old flame?

Could it possibly be his old flame? Considering that one of the dialogue options with him after the Temple of Mythal is: Solas: What will you do with the power of the Well once Corypheus is dead? Inquisitor: I trust my friends. Solas: I know that mistake well enough to carve the angles of her face from memory. (emphasis mine) Inquisitor: Why is this so important to you? Solas: You have not been what I expected, Inquisitor. You have… impressed me. You must not let false modesty allow you to pass your power to someone else. There are few regrets sharper than watching fools squander what you sacrificed to achieve. I think it's a distinct possibility.
