That may be. But on the flip side, I’m really intrigued by the mechanics of fighting games (to my limited knowledge, they seem to be more state-based than most combat systems), but the framing makes me roll my eyes so hard.

I’d be so into a game that had fighting game mechanics but skinned as, idk, diplomacy or something.

From what I've seen across different places there has really been little to no negative coverage outside of your regular Bioware/EA bashers and clickbait. And recently EA said in its investor call - a bunch of people they legally can't lie to - that they're pleased with the overall reception and great interest in the game.

Where do you get the 'majority of game journalists' from? I don't think it's a claim you can really substantiate, and it's definitely not something that could help you support a claim that the game so far is not well received or anticipated. Plus, I've seen a ton of journalists (and youtubers) who have seen the game behind the scenes and they were pretty much always excited about what they've seen.

Also - like I said, EA can't lie to their investors. They also acknowledged that review scores for MEA aren't what they hoped for, so if they said that MEA sold well enough then it means that MEA sold well enough for them to be satisfied.

I'm afraid Tea's just going for logic here...

And given that there's going to be a considerable gap between DA:I & DA4, I have a feeling BioWare might be working on/outsourcing something DA-related (indie game?) to help tide us over.
