Dragon Age News Thread

I've only ever played DAO on one machine, an i7 processor with quad cores, and at the highest settings and also never had crashing issues. Possibly silly question, but do different quad-core processors handle hyperthreading differently?

My whole PC once froze, when I used Earthquake in a dungeon/building.

Wouldn’t be surprised. Threading bugs are usually a confluence of several edge cases aligning like the universe’s shittiest planets.

As a programmer, you’re incredibly lucky if you can figure out how to reproduce a threading bug in-house. Most require a flock of 5 ravens to fly past the full moon on two consecutive Tuesdays.

Is it just me or is anyone else starting to get irrationally frustrated by the lack of any information on the next Dragon Age game.

It's been four years damn it.

Well... they did? They have nothing official to announce, but they keep sending hints and tweets that they're working on next DA.

Next year.

And I personally have doubts we'll play as Inquisitor, at least as single main playable protag.

After 5+ years it'll be into 'fresh start' territory.

Maybe if DA4 was coming for 2017-2018, but it isn't!

They set up Inquisitor as a further character, so I'd be surprised if they Wardened them, but this character won't necessarily be playable.

I predict Hawke+. And potential of playable for limited period.

They'll expand the situation that Hawke had. So custom appearance and story import, but perhaps a better reflection of the import.

When I feel gutsy, I predict Inquisitor as an outright perma/long-term party member, but I quickly retract.

If DA4 gets ambitious, it'd both include an Inquisitor to cover the eastern locations we visit, and Hawke again (in some version; insert theories) in the western locations, with a Warden or optionally-Warden-related plotline happening as well (Taint).
But if it doesn't, I still expect to see the Inquisitor.

But with over 5 years between games and a stance of Bioware of a fresh start(?), I see playing as Inquisitor as less likely than even playing Ryder in a next Mass Effect.

Do I support that? Eh.... I'm in the middle. At the very least, I think the Inquisitor should have a much bigger role than they may end up being given. They have a goal and I don't think it feels appropriate to have another take over there (so Bioware should be careful), as opposed to Hawkes' relative aimlessness.

Doubtful. Besides - why should they stop writing? If they have time, they can then use it on refinement.... or writing new content for the game itself.
