So that’s why there has been so little DA4 news - they’re having to wait sixteen hours just to see if the bloody intern has grabbed the coffee! Yes I’m still salty about some of those war table missions (grumble, grumble waited over a day for a piece of crap rune, grumble...)

A long while ago a developer said that a skeleton team can theoretically do everything a full development team can do if the tools are developed enough aside from building the sheer volume of content needed for a full game.
I’m very curious about the amount of work that has been done on DA4 at this point.

I’m very curious about the amount of work that has been done on DA4 at this point. At least one level designer and one other non-writer have been working on something to do with Dragon Age for a while. They told me so at the BioWare booth at Edmonton Expo in September. But of course they couldn't go into detail, and even if they could, they suggested whatever details they gave might well change by the time a hypothetical game shipped. Anyway, the main takeaway here, I think, is that there has been a cross-disciplinary crew working on "something DA" for some time.

They told me so at the BioWare booth at Edmonton Expo in September. Ooh, I hope this wasn’t you. During the Expo, I was walking by the BioWare booth and there were two women there. One of them was was pointing to a Thane statue and was saying, “He’s my boyfriend.” Dick that I am, I strolled by her and said, “Don’t you mean, ‘Was your boyfriend?’” She shot me a vicious look while I walked away, laughing evilly.

I like Thane very much, and Thanemancers have my sympathy in how things turned out canonically and how it was treated by the devs, etc.
But I'm not gonna lie, I snickered just now. Dayum, son. That was cold. You are lucky biotics aren't real, cus you'd have been on the ceiling. lol

If it was me, I would have told her that I laughed when he died in the hospital. Why? Simple. The drell says that the assassin should be embarrassed that a terminally ill drell stopped him from getting to his target. I would have put a renegade interrupt for my Shepard to tell him had he shot Leng when he had his weapon pointed at his head, there's a good chance he wouldn't be on his deathbed. hahahahahaha

EA's quarterly financial report was released Oct. 30. This may be of interest to people here who worry about what live service means for DA4: "Across consoles, mobile and PC, live services are increasingly the lifeblood of the experiences that players are engaging with today. This is where games continue to evolve for our player communities, and where we can continue to deliver the choice, value and fun that keeps them together with their friends over weeks, months and years. In our Sims 4 live service, fans have downloaded nearly 30 million expansion packs life-to-date, and with our monthly average players continuing to grow year-over-year, we see a long future ahead for this game and its thriving community. We’ve also learned a lot through Star Wars Battlefront 2 about how to construct a strong first-person shooter live service. We’re now beginning to deliver fanrequested Clone Wars content, and we have more to come for the community next year. These two games, and many more, give an important view into how we are creating games today to evolve with their communities well into the future." (page 6) And for those who fear Anthem will be a flop and spell doom for BioWare (and thus, Dragon Age): "On February 22, BioWare will launch their stunning and ambitious shared-world game, Anthem. The team has done an outstanding job executing against their vision for a game with amazing levels of complexity, scale and innovation. Anthem has won more than 90 awards, including recognition as one of the most anticipated games of the year, and player feedback continues to be highly positive through our pre-launch testing. We can’t wait to see this game come alive for fans at launch and through the long-term live service to come." (page 7) and "Net bookings from full-game downloads are expected to grow 20% to 25%. This is significantly above our original expectations, primarily driven by the strength we are seeing in Anthem, which we expect to skew strongly digital, plus the digital shifts for our other titles. We continue to model an underlying shift of around five percentage points a year to digital." (page 12)

Anybody recognize where this snippet of elven language is from? I know the answer, but it took me a bit to realize where I’d heard it. It sounds like a slightly different take on what the Nightmare demon said to Solas. The original line was "Dirth ma, harellan. Ma banal enasalin. Mar solas ena mar din." But this one is "Dirth Ma Banal. Mar solas ena mar din." You've learned nothing. Your pride (will be?) your death.

The reward choices are interesting. Ring of Doubt makes enough sense, cus of the words themselves.
But "The Dark Theurge"? Per google:
Noun. theurge (plural theurges) One who works miracles, or persuades a god or spirit to perform a supernatural work.
Is the Dark Theurge the name of the despair demon in the picture? Is it saying you can win it as a playing piece for HoDA? Or is the demon in the pic the one you have to defeat and the theurge is referring to that thing in the bottom right? I don't play HoDA so I don't know how these quests and challenges work.
