Yea, but the whole Revenue Recognition Thing (TM) and then there's trying to divert the least amount of attention from Anthem that's now less than 4 months from release...
Is it sad I’m more excited for Anthem to come out so they can finally talk about DA4 than I am for the actual game?
I'm glad so many people are excited for Anthem, but it's not the sort of game I generally enjoy playing. I'm more a sword and sorcery kinda person. So I'm also looking forward to Anthem being released because it might bring us a little closer to a new installment of Dragon Age.
What is sad is the levels of hype and excitement that I am having for a game that isn't even confirmed yet. Anyday now I am just expecting them to drop a trailer or some super official news and general release date so I can freak out over it.

Cori Nicole @genevrael Happy 4th birthday to my beloved child DA:I. You gave me grey hair, but you were always a labour of love, even in the darkest days. Ar lath ma, vhenan.
GourmetVeganThedas @foodsofthedas Hard to believe it has been 4 years. It feels like yesterday, to be honest. Let's keep the celebration going through the month to December 4! Happy birthday, Dragon Age: Inquisition! #dragonage @bioware @unofficiald4day #DragonAgeInquisition #d4day

Allegra Clark @simplyallegra I can't believe it's been 4 years since @dragonage: Inquisition was released! Four years, and it's still one of my favorite things I've worked on. Much love from Josephine to all you Inquisitors out there!

Then ME fans would be looking forward to DA4 to get a little closer to a new 'possible' ME.

I swear for a moment I am reminded of the actor Arnold Vosloo...
I hope Anthem does well. Bioware and DA ( and ME ) depend on it.
Pompey: He sits alone in Ravenna with one mutinous skeleton of a legion and he dares to dictate terms to me!?. Mark Antony : Caesar has many more legions than the Thirteenth. Scipio: Yes, on the far side of the Alps. Mark Antony: Winter does not last forever. Spring comes. Snows melt. Scipio: That is a threat! Mark Antony : No, I assure you, that is no threat. Snows always melt.
I swear for a moment I am reminded of the actor Arnold Vosloo...

While I hope it does well too, I disagree that BioWare depends on it. Every ME and DA game has made a profit with DAI doing the best ever so they won’t kill the franchises.

Yup. Bioware's not going under if Anthem doesn't work out, and we'll still get more ME and DA.

yaaay woo someone else who prefers the American voice!
I don't dislike the British one, it just sounds so... breathy. Loosen a few knots in that poor girl's corset, why don't you.
...Unless you mean that you only use the other male Inquisitor voice in which case OH FINE.
Still think if Dragon Age 4 will have dual protagonists, the best solution would simply be to have the Inquisitor VAs also play the new PC, but switch accents. This time Harry Hadden-Paton and Alix Wilton Regan do the North American accents, while Jon Curry and Sumalee Montano do the British ones.

I think that would only work well if they can do good accents... Not every actor can. (*cough* Kevin Costner in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves *cough*). I know that the American actors in Lord of the Rings had to undergo some pretty intense accent lessons in order to carry off their English-y accents in the movies. That takes extra time and money. I know nothing about how much teaching actors to use an accent might cost, so I've no idea whether that would be more or less cost effective than just hiring some new voice actors.

While I agree... I heard that Alix has once done such a convincing Valley Girl accent that she stunned Patrick Weekes
“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.”

Setting aside the fact that affected accents are a bad idea more often than not... I wonder if such a scheme would actually be cost effective or not. When 1 person has a ton of lines, they need more breaks to rest their voice.
I can see the efficiency of bundling together a bunch of NPCs under one actor, but 2 huge protagonist parts? Not so sure about that.
David Gaider @davidgaider "Dave, why do you hate pigeons so much? Pigeons are cute. They never bothered anyone." WELL! Since you asked, strap yourself in I will tell you whence comes my hatred of those feces-spewing flying rats. (cont'd)
For context, I was working at BioWare at the time. Since our producers occasionally had to do things to keep busy, they'd shuffle people around offices - so we could be closer to each other. Proximity = synergy, "synergy" being a power word for producers which makes them quiver.
In modern times, producers realized they could pile everyone into huge rooms instead, claiming that not only did everyone love it but the synergy was off the charts! In reality, it's just an excuse to pack more people into square footage until everything smells like gym socks.
But I digress. At the time, I was moved into my new office with a few other manager types - in hopes of achieving Management Synergy! - and I had a desk right by a window. A window desk! Light! I recoiled, of course, but the decision was made and so be it.
I actually didn't mind it at first, until I realized something: the window looked out over the rooftop of the adjacent building, so my view included an HVAC unit and a sort of alcove which was just windows for an architectural feature. And a lot of snow, usually.
Then, I began to realize something else: the alcove was where the local pigeons would gather to get out of the cold. There was a ledge around the top of the windows, so they'd all sit along the ledge and be out of the wind. I could hear their gentle cooing through the glass.
Sound lovely? Not so much. You could tell pigeons gathered on the ledges even when they weren't there, as the glass underneath... it was like someone had turned on a shit faucet every foot or so and given it a good spray. Like some kind of Pollock painting, but stomach-turning.
"Aw, Dave, that's just pigeons doin' what they do!" Yes, I know. Also? The HVAC unit right outside my window, since it was next to the alcove, was where the pigeons came to have pigeon sex.
I don't know if you've ever seen pigeons have sex? Probably not, as it's not exactly a channel on Pornhub... but it's violent. Lots of flapping and angry squawking. But, hey, the HVAC was warm so they did this CONSTANTLY.
Here I was, trying to write this golem character for Dragon Age Origins... and every time I gazed outside my window to ponder? Shit alcove. Violent pigeon sex. It was like having only one TV channel which played only Russian snuff films.
At first I wanted to close the blinds, but then everyone in the office complained as it was the only real source of natural light - the one benefit, I was told, of having an exterior office. So, yeah. Weeks and weeks of shit alcove and pigeon sex on constant play.
At first I ignored it, but after a while? I started to hate those little bastards. Every now and again a hawk would come by and I'd be greeted to a rooftop with a single pigeon carcass that looked like it'd exploded. Feathers everywhere. I loved those days.
If you haven't realized, the result of this - the character I was writing for DAO - was Shale. A combination of forced pigeon sex viewings and my bristling hatred of everything outdoors. Mercifully, the producers moved me again not much later... but the memory? It still burns.

I can tell that's just polite generalspeak and potentially not even written by a human (or at the very least written by a human who REALLY doesn't give a fuck about this and needed to tell you to fuck off in a polite fashion) because this is literally what EVERY "we're sorry but no" email looks like. Down to the last damn word. Same shit, different company.
I'm genuinely allergic to this.
After time adrift among open stars, past tides of light, and through shoals of dust, I will return to where I began.
