Citing One Piece examples is kind of laughable, considering the ridiculous the power levels are in that show. Ditto for FMA homunculus. It's like saying "Well, Gotan was still pretty badass after he injured his arm in DBZ!" Yeah, cuz he's a Super Saiyan 2!
In the Masked Empire, Gaspard doesn't even lose an arm, but a bad injury is enough to have him declare his fighting days are done. In DAO, a leg injury that healed wrong was enough to sideline Gorim as a warrior.

Heros get splashed with chemicals as a kid ad can fight crime completely blind. Heros get so much radiation their skin should melt off like what actually happened in Hiroshima.... Not turn green and muscular.

Having a prosthetic limb would definitely explain why the Inquisitor would be down at Level 1 again, since they have to learn from scratch how to fight with it. Also, they can easily have a prosthetic that allows combat in Dragon Age since in that period on Earth we had prosthetics that allowed that, for example Gottfried "Götz" von Berlichingen aka Götz of the Iron Hand. And we didn't have magic or engineering masterminds like Dwarves and Qunari. If they do I would like it to be more than a simple mechanic, but I think Bioware would give a bit of focus on the physical and emotional struggles that go with it.

shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejicfor the longest time i wondered why i never could move on with playing dragon age inquisition beyond the first part of literally shutting shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejic the first rift. today i realized why while talking about it with @lindasejic in dragon age 1 and 12 you are given a character. you are shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejicgiven time with your character, a story behind your character that naturally flows into the larger narrative. in dragon age 3 however you shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejic are given a skyrim character with no personal story and just thrown into being the chosen one. you followers are all a million times more shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejic interesting. so yeah... i never got around playing dragon age 3 for longer than an hour because i didn't give a crap about my own character. shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejictook me a while to figure this out XD shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejic also if you liked the game, or even loved it, you aren't wrong. this is merely the reasoning of why i never got hooked on it. Mike Laidlaw @mike_LaidlawWe see similar but opposite complaints when the opening is “too slow and has too much talking.” Mike Laidlaw @mike_LaidlawFWIW, I think both complaints are valid, and speak in a lot of ways to a “taste” issue. shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejic there is no right answer to this. only tastes. personally i loved the distinct almost hobbit like approach to previous games shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejic by that i mean, you start off with your character, you are given a bit of time to care about them before seeing the big picture Mike Laidlaw @mike_LaidlawOrigins in particular, yep. Mike Laidlaw @mike_LaidlawYep. A party is planned, normal is established and then disrupted! Egads! Adventure! shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejic dragon age 2 had it as well. it starts off as a smaller story of a family rising from nothing.before the bigger story unfolds shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejic did wonders for making me care about hawke... gave me a reason to cry at some point as well. Mike Laidlaw @mike_LaidlawHeh, yeah. A few moments there were pretty harsh. shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejic i wasn't using that heart anyways XD Mike Laidlaw @mike_Laidlaw Payback for anytime I feel a lurch when reading Sunstone? shiniebezial sejic @stjepansejic why must we hurt each other so? XD Mike Laidlaw @mike_Laidlaw The artist’s burden, I suppose!

Then again, I also don't really enjoy "heroes are special cause they're special for the plot and therefore they're special snow flakes" narratives. To be clear -- I don't mind protagonists with special powers like the mark or being a Grey Warden. I just mind when they're presented as special IMBA unstoppable snow flakes simply because they're the protagonists. I agree that allowing the Inquisitor to fight again would be silly given the various other examples evil dude listed. (IE: Gorim, Gaspard). I think getting rid of the inquisitor's arm as Biowar'es way of unequivocally taking them out of a combat role in future titles. (The exception being an inquisitor who romanced Sera of course.) That said, I'd love to play the inquisitor as a dual protagonist in the next DA, especially given her relationship to Solas. So the main protagonist would have a combat-intensive role but the narrative would also require you to RP as your inquisitor at certain points to make some plot-crucial decisions. (Hell, maybe this could even result in varying degrees of conflict or at least disagreement with your main protagonist -- like there should have been with my inquisitor and my Hawke.) If Bioware is going to bring back a former protagonist (something I would welcome), I prefer they give us control given the way they dictated several of Hawke's beliefs/values in Inquisition.

If Bioware is going to bring back a former protagonist (something I would welcome), I prefer they give us control given the way they dictated several of Hawke's beliefs/values in Inquisition. While I agree about dual-protag, I distinctly recall Patrick Weekes chiming in some time ago on Twitter and saying that if Inquisitor was going to be 'eliminated', it was not due to their lack of hand (I am trying to find that tweet, but tough luck so far). So no, it was not "unequivocally to take them out of fight", and considering many examples that were given that were NOT from FMA and One Piece I find it bizarre to just focus on just those few some find silly - and completely ignore the reality of initially designing Iron Bull without a hand. It's also strange that apparently Gaspard and Gorim are supposedly (and suddenly) "benchmark badasses" that are supposedly on level of Inky or Warden or Hawke, especially after their experience with magic, darkspawn, demons and even frikking Titans and so on...

Add to that the fact that Stjepan is a rather known comic creator... Eh, not sure I agree with that. Before they moved to twitter, generally, dev posts were bookmarked, saved and immortalized. Was a frequent occurrence that people would dig them up to make a point. The only difference I see is devs slightly more often saying things we need to know outside an interview or article. But, most of what they say on twitter is drivel. They are, of course, entitled to their drivel and to do whatever they want on their twitter, but most of it isn't news. Of course, I don't think that forums are the end-all-be-all of technology. Twitter could fix this problem by simply dramatically upping the character count limit for a person's posts.

Yes, but you're talking about dev points being unburied and immortalized - I'm talking devs noticing someone's post in the first place. And considering how fast some threads can move and how offtopic they can get, finding an actual point or opinion that for whatever reason someone finds valuable can be a challenge.
