SHODANFreeman @shodanfreeman This still doesn't explain what happened to Sandal. His story must be told. Mark Darrah @biomarkdarrahI can explain about Sandal I specifically told the writers that if he was in #DAI then "it was a thing" and he would be in all DA Forever David Gaider @davidgaiderAnd I refused. Why would this have been a problem? And besides. I very specifically sought out his journal for the third time in Trespasser last night. It counts. Sandal. The dragon age mascot.

midnight teaI noticed that too. But it's also possible DA fans are just bothering them more than usual, with Adromeda coming up. We want to ramp up in pre release glee too, feeling very left out. So, maybe before they only got 10 tweets a day about DA and now they're getting 100. Harder to ignore?

They did become exceptionally chatty about DA out of a sudden (at least compared to last few months), didn't they? With Alexis Kennedy moving over to BioWare this month and development on MEA winding down, I'm guessing DA4 is going to start ramping up (in earnest) soon.

In another topic I theorized we will probably go to Anderfels after Tevinter, in another game. There is quite a few mentions of what is going on there. Wardens being called back, rumors of a new blight, Warden leader staging a coup, griffons, Hawke/Alistair/Loghain going there. Etc.

The bulk of DA Team is split between the Secret IP and helping the MEA team. And I don't imagine the ME team will need the DA devs after the main game is finished. DLC can even be farmed out to the Austin studio (as DAI has done). So my guess is at least those devs will now move back to work on DA4.

Hrungr and midnight teaSo where does the excited fan talk happen? I've never been around for pre release excitement. I've read about other DA fans going through the PRE DAI times, and I was jealous. It's not this thread that it'll happen, right? Will it just be, like, hundreds of threads all over? or is there an official Squee thread that will be made?

The Twitter thread is as close as you'll get to an official squee thread--vibes in these tend to be much more lighthearted and positive than the forums at large because they move so fast, although as information starts to come out and speculation ramp up, dedicated threads will start cropping up for in-depth discussion. Just be prepared for the inevitable wave of malcontents that will appear when things start to get real.

If experience serves.

Yep, the Twitter Thread pretty much doubles as they hype thread... ... that is, until something cool is announced and we get 15 pages of straight squeeing and the mods come a' knockin'.

This would actually be a very reasonable move -- maybe a short game in the lead up to the big event in DA:4. Or just go back and make it a DA:I DLC (maybe not feasible from a marketing POV as DA:I is a few years old now), or an accompanying DLC/parallel story to DA4.
Cancelling Exalted March was probably the right move from an engine perspective, but reading Mike's thread it's a bummer as it looked like it would have filled in a lot of the plot gaps/holes between DA:2 and DA:I, which was one of the most jarring parts about DA:I imo. I still can't get over how little context there was for basic questions like how the mages ended up in Fereldan when the last we heard from them was before the battle of Andoral's Reach in Orlais, or how Samson engineered the red lyrium operation starting in Kirkwall, etc. I basically had to head canon all this -- it was very sloppy writing and not a great way for Gaider to go out considering how hard he's worked to build up an amazing setting from scratch.
It's also a shame because DA2 has my favorite cast of characters from all the DA games. (Though at least Varric got a happy ending in lieu of the Exalted March cancellation -- still think there should have been drastic consequences in DA:I if you gave him the red lyrium shard in DA2 though -- that was a total cop out on the writers' part.)
Also, a Qunari-pirate hybrid story would have been amazeballs. I would be totally ok if this was the central premise of DA:4. (Bonus points if we get more Isabella.)

Isabela is one of my favorite characters in DA from a combat perspective as I personally love the evade-tank, really quick rogue archetype. I probably disappointed her at least a little bit that I tried it and disliked it. According to @domi, ME2 apparently may hook me as a "smaller" companion focused story, but since I have Carpal Tunnel and I bought it for PC, I'm going to try ME3 due to it allowing a USB controller. Hurting my wrists for a game I feel very meh about really discourages further playing. That idea is planned AFTER 8 or more additional PTs of Dragon Age. or maybe the next time I feel a bit of DA flagging. I have been breathing it for 9 months solid now.

All this talk about Pirates in teh next game reminds me of someone's idea that the next "camp" should be a movable ship. I loved that idea.
And Isabella is awesome. I even tried MP to hang out with her more. I failed after running into the oddness of the loot/upgrade system, but still, she's cool.

Trespasser was the last DLC planned and done, right? Then Warden Thom AND Varric specifically mentioned Weishaupt and the GW order having problems inside of it. Do you think there could be an interim game specifically about this? Like a prequel With Geralt type protagonist. Stroud vs Hawke vs Loghain vs Alistair. Already formed people, only five voice Actors for all the options. This is sort of related to topic, as there was a Twitter post about the cancelled Exalted March DLC and now we're all left wondering about yet another potentially cancelled Grey Warden DLC. It just makes no sense for those two mentions when it was their last DLC and ty knew it. Remember too that at the end of the original non-dlc Inquisition game, the main plot hook left hanging was the situation in Weishaupt. The 'Last Flight' novel also came out a few months after DA: Inquisition, which is all about the Grey Wardens up there too. I don't think an interim game is on the cards now, post-Trespasser, but I would not be amazed to eventually learn that an Awakening style expansion was an option that was prepared for, but never taken up - for whatever reason. I dare say the shenanigans in Weishaupt will be resolved in DA:4. Having said that, I think there will be this 'tactics' type game that emerges, probably written by Chris Gardiner, the guy that came up with 'The Last Court' Dragon Age Keep game. He worked for Failbetter Games but I believe has now been hired by Bioware for a 'special project'. I'd expect it to feature the upcoming Qunari-Tevinter war, though.

The 'Last Flight' novel also came out a few months after DA: Inquisition, which is all about the Grey Warden up there too. I don't think an interim game is on the cards now, post-Trespasser, but I would not be amazed to eventually learn that an Awakening style expansion was an option that was prepared for, but never taken up - for whatever reason. I dare say the shenanigans in Weishaupt will be resolved in DA:4. My bet is either a book or a comic. Alternatively, perhaps that standalone tactical game Mark Darrah mentioned some time ago.
