I'm having fun with it as a melee build. Putting points into melee, shield restore on melee and kills, and debuff with annihilation and biotic. Juggernaut shield and melee mod. hipster build . I'll definitely have to try that I think you would like it. Run in, detonate and then punch everything. I do miss the old Asari heavy melee though, that needs to come back.

I can't play the Asari Adept at all. I don't like the fact you have to get super close to the enemy to do the most damage. It's not my style.

Asari Adept is most definitely a highly potent melee character. I can almost oneshot trash on silver, which means that the melee does around the same damage as an Isharay. All it takes is 1 punch + 1 shot from whatever shotgun I'm using. With a Strength Enhancer, I'm pretty sure the melee damage would be bumped up enough that a punch alone would kill. Even mid-tier enemies go down to a quick Lance+shotgun+melee combo.
Though it's definitely not as broken as a Turbocharge Vanquisher, and I have doubts about its viability on gold, it absolutely cleans house on silver. I consistently break 20k points with it, even when there are other skilled players in the room.

Back in ME3 I tried to play the N7 Fury the way the pros do (BE for days), but I would just die because I wasn't good enough at prioritizing enemies and managing Annihilation. Getting the radius evolution helps, but you still have to get close. The big difference between the Fury and the new Asair Adept is the Vortex evolution on Annihilation. It makes approaching mooks way safer.

No excuse for not having stasis but Asari Adept is a god. A glass cannon god, but still a god. Putting some fitness and stuff on her next time I play to see what you can get away with. I play Krogans a lot so it might be that but when I play her that mobility is crazy. Great change of pace. What? Asari Adept isn't glass at all, she's ridiculously durable. One of the few characters that can just sit in groups of people punching and exploding them all over the place.

I'm an ME3MP veteran and have had the game for a few days (my AA right now level 13) but still "ok" on only silver. I don't doubt what others are saying but my BEs don't seem to be getting kills as reliably as I remember from ME3. For those who have level 20s, is the shield-eater/melee build that viable for gold? I have no problem getting close and using my talon but never a big fan of melee (slow animation, if I miss I'm screwed). I'm also not as durable as others say but I still have some evo's on my passive and max-ing annhiliation will probably work. Any tips for a good AA silver+ build would be great (that reddit thread was excellent).
Also talon vs. equalizer for the AA, thoughts?

I've been using the Asari Adept for a while now. I am loving her, she is the Fury mark II (new and improved).
I read the reddit post and there are a few things I am not sure of / disagree with.
Lance seems a mystery, it can do headshot/weakpoint extra damage but ... do you have to hit direct or just with the 1m radius? In which case doesn't the 100% radius increase make it MORE likely to hit any heads/weaknesses? But I agree +dam/force is always nice ALTHOUGH I am running her combo-tastic so usually Lance will just be detonating.
Again Rank 5, the increase in headshot/weak point bonus - do you have to hit dead on? Or can you let the 1 (or 2) metre radius do the work for you?
Rank 6 - Big NO to shield drain instead of recharge. When I am on gold the 30% shield drain from annihilation field is not reliable enough to ensure I would always have Lance up to use, although I am running Annihilation without the extra radius. OK nice to use it twice in a row but first you must get close to prime and then after you have no shields you better hope you've boomed everything to death ... for me it's just too risky.
I took shield drain on Nova for my Vanguard because she has instant shield-refill on charge. But on Asari Adept I just don't see this as viable.
Having said that Rank 6 knockdown seems redundant. I will be detonating with Lance and the blast only works against unarmored/ unshielded/ normal enemies. On gold these are not really the ones you should be worried about, they should be boomed to death pretty soon after touching your Annihilation field.
Anyway this is just my initial thoughts from playing her, she is only my second level 20 character but she is VERY fun and can hold her own on gold no problem.
I am now running her with the Raptor but before I used the Equalizer which also worked well, very nice pistol for close range combat.
(Final thought: On ME3 MP I understand the higher rank your detonator (throw etc) the better the combo detonation which is why I'm taking Throw and Lance all the way to Rank 6, aiming for a 6/6/6/6/1 build once I get the last couple of rank cards)

This is how I stocked up the AA when I was ranking her up to lvl 20. I set powers everything for radius and speed for maximum explosion count and stagger ability. Then I put on some lvl 1 disruptor, cryo, or fire ammo. Constant biotic and tech explosions. Guns don't really matter. No need for teammates to prime. She is way more durable than the Fury, and I think the jet packs takes her movements a level above the Fury's wall phasing abilities. I started playing my AA I on gold at level 13 and was really surprise she was as good on gold as on silver. Now, after all the basic and advance packs I bought, she's now an AA X, but I'm busy leveling up other characters and haven't touched her again yet. I'm pretty sure she is incredibly overpowered at X now. The AA and Kineticist are my two favorite characters. From what I've seen of the human adept, I'm pretty sure I'm going to add that character to my top 3 once I get around to playing it.
One more thing about the powers. I only ranked up Annihilation field and throw to a high level. I use Lance at level 3 as a detonator. The AA and Kineticist play is very similar, but the Kineticist has cooler animation. The kineticist can play from a distance where as the AA is a close range fighter. Both self generate biotic and tech explosion galore.

Why level lance only to level 3? Because it misses sometimes. If i lance and the enemy jumps, it misses. I might respec and try out lance at a higher level.

That was my biggest worry about viability of recharging shields w/ AF's drain on gold without being squishy. I'm still working up to 20 but probably not going to run the "shield eater" version.

Finally unlocked her yesterday. Don't care for Lance, and I've left the default point in it only. Don't think I'll put any more in.
She's not quite "The AA", but she'll suffice.

I do like that using her as a melee character you can go in and pretty much beat the shit out of a krogan berserker.
She might be the only non-Turian in this game I like. I miss that old warp + throw combo, though, she was my favorite non-Turian in ME3 MP.
