I envisioned my first Scott to be this fresh recruit who looked up to his dad, but was pretty much the polar opposite of him in terms of personality. So he's Casual for the most part. In the beginning, I leaned more towards Emotional rather than Logical because everything was happening so fast and Scott didn't have time to get his bearings. It didn't take until something happened after Eos (you'll know what I'm talking about) that he finally got over it and focused at the task at hand. Now I'll still take Emotional were appropriate, but Scott will start being more Logical as I don't feel that Emotional fits the current state of mind I have for him. He's also starting to be more Professional like his Father, although he's still Casual with his friends and family. I'll see how it goes down the line. For now, I like it. It lets my character have actual development. --- In my next game I'm already planning a full Logical/Professional route. The Spock experience

Nah. I feel better going with a Logical and Professional focus. It makes the Emotional and (rare) Casual feel more meaningful.
EDIT: Ironically I think I'll be getting more Casual as the 'weight' comes off Ryder of trying to step up to this problem.

Going to use the casual and logical option in my Insanity playthrough. I loved my sarcastic Hawke. Sounds fun.

I'm a fan of the logical/casual combo. Approaches situations with thinking, but is a sarcastic bastard at the same time.

I'm mixing it up pretty evenly, depending on the situation. I'm leaning towards Sara being quite unsure of herself and not exactly leadership material (yet!) so she's not very comfortable being in charge. When talking about science, I tend to be more professional, when talking about exploration, more emotional, etc. She's a total science geek with dreams of being a badass explorer. And now that she's found herself in the role of Pathfinder, she's having to adjust to that role. As time goes on, I expect her to take a more professional tone in leadership situations.
I'm actually enjoying this new dialogue system, to be completely honest.

I've been going full Logical/Professional. Fight me.
But really I just miss my cranky Renegade, or even better, Red Hawke.

I actually go a mix of Professional and Emotional. Speaks from the heart but knows when to shape up and get the job done.

The problem that I've run into with casual choices is that Ryder tends to make jokes which I really don't think are funny, since they just don't seem to land for me. She comes across as younger than her chronological age, and that just isn't the tone I want my character to have at all. I get the it's supposed to be quirky, funny and endearing, but I personally find it a bit aggravating. I shouldn't be annoyed at my own protagonist, after all.
That said, I am liking the emotional choices more than I thought I would. They make Ryder seem much kinder, sympathetic and warmer. So I had planned on logical/professional, but instead am doing emotional/professional.

Going to say it now: I loved femshep, she was a proper hardarse who got the job done. A 80's action hero who kicked arse. Spacewomanjesus.
Femryder is a person, with weaknesses, uncertainty and a sense of humour too. As much as I loved femshep, I think I prefer playing as her (and I think she will bear up to more repeat playthroughs dialogue wise).
maybe it is getting old and realising that you don't have to always be a femshep, and that showing your vulnerabilities makes you more human and relatable. Of course, if you are a 14 year old (why are you even playing this, you underage oik) then I could see how the attraction might not be there.

I just go with the flow. Whatever sounds right a the time. That usually ends up with Logical/Professional when talking about missions and what to do next and Casual/Emotional when getting to know people. Seems a good fit for me.

I pretty much only go logical/professional because thats what im like irl in a work setting (i see the pathfinder role as work not a hobby). I do find that whenever death is involved i can not keep to professional/logical and always end up going the emotional route

I've been picking dialog that I thought fit the situation. Sometimes laid back, sometimes professional. So far I haven't been disappointed.

My Scott just mimicked a Kett on the radio on Eos, I'm laughing so hard right now! Loving the new protagonist and this system! Much better than Shepard and Paragon/Renegade IMO

As others have noted, I'm just going with the flow. What makes sense for this character and, invariably, what I'd do in the same situation.
When I'm talking to people I trust or crew I'm more casual and emotional. When I'm dealing with public figures or trying to establish my weak authority as a kid thrust into this uncomfortable leadership role, well, I'm going to put up a colder logical front. God knows that's what I did in leadership roles when dealing with outside authority in university (except with the small team I led where I used a lot of self effacing humour and the like.)

I'm about 20ish hours into the game (still haven't even recruited my entire team, can tell this will be a very large game).. and having spent all that time and watch maybe 6+ hrs of other Ryders on youtube... I can comfortably advise this: Do yourself a favour and choose emotional and / or casual responses. You will be rewarded with a very human protagonist.. one you can empathize with, one you care about and feel invested in (just Hawke in DA2 when you went charming / funny). The emotional dialogue options have many frequent humanizing lines of dialogue from Ryder (at least from Sara but I believe Scott's VO will be just as good).. the logical and professional lines just make Ryder seem like a goddamn robot or office clerk that's been on the job for 50 years and is bored with life.... cold, unsympathetic most of the time. Emotional and casual makes Ryder into a bloody real human being, weaknesses and strengths - passion, sensitivity, vulnerability, cocky confidence... such a rewarding wide range of emotions being portrayed as opposed to the cold dead responses generally under logical and professional (not all to be fair.. but a large majority from my observations). Hell you can see this right away on the tutorial planet... if you don't shoot at the aliens and let Liam open fire first, during the cutscene you can apologize to the wounded soldier with logical or emotional... the emotional response is exactly what I would expect from Sara / Scott's 22 year old self... a tone of fear, confusion and regret over how to handle violent first contact... it's touches like this throughout the whole playthrough that are making Ryder go from a "meh" character to "Wow.. I really like her, I'm going to remember her as a great character when this is all over". That is of course unless you enjoy playing the cold, dead panned type of character that barely resembles an actual human being. Don't be fooled into thinking your picking the personality of your Ryder. Bioware picked that for you. You get to chose responses within that personality.

I am having so much fun with my Ryder!
She is emotional and second to that professional. It fits her so well 😊
Did you guys read the text from Lexi regarding your personality. It updated later on I the game!
She was logical enough to get the line with the eyeball to Jaal.
Already planning more Ryders.

It's more often a binary between casual/professional and emotional/logical When presented with all four, I choose Casual.
When only emotional/logical is the choice, I tend to vary it. Emotional seems kinda....whiny at times, though I use it with squadmates often.
