It will probably be a couple of days before I can play. My headset is kind of dead and I need to get a new one. I maybe be able to get one today, but I work the next couple of days and won't have time until Thursday to MP. But Thursday and Friday I'm free for the most part.
By the way, just how does that work? There should be a basic Q&A thread somewhere on this. Once I'm in MP and get past the basic tutorial, it shows there are slots to invite friends. Do we just click that and hope someone's on and available? Or is it set up ahead of time?
Told ya I'm new at this.

Well, I was/am pretty decent at ME3MP however I may join the club. Since I have no equipment, don't know which weapons or kits are good, the game feels different from ME3, it's tougher than ME3s, and all in all I'm sucking at it on bronze. I'm on PC, user is Skauth and time is in GTM -3, hopefully that works for some of you (NA east coast will probably do). Generally speaking weekends will be the best moment to find me playing from afternoon to midnight or so, in the middle of the week it varies.

If you want to play with PUGs, you just create the match and let things as they are, eventually someone will join. However if you want to play with friends, switch the match to private (so randoms wont "steal" your friends slot), and then click on the free slots. It should bring an Origin interface and allow you to select people from your friends list, then they just get the invitation and join your match.

Not complicated as long as friends are on and not doing their own thing. I take it, there's a lot of waiting at times. I hope you don't mind, I'm adding you as well. Well, everyone on PC who posted here. I'm GMT -4. Until November then I think it goes to GMT -5.

Mind, for the invite thing to work, Origin overlay needs to be enabled from outside the game, in Origin settings. Also, at present matchmaking is either extremely biased towards almost full (3/4) lobbies or outright bugged, so hosting all by your lonesome is probably going to result in an empty lobby and a lot of frustration. As SalMasRac said, most people here are pretty chill despite all the epeen and trash talk, so you may want to take a look at crashsuit 's LFG thread and add folks from there as well. Not everyone there is Gold-only, max manifest, record-busting hardcore. (not that there's anything wrong with that)

EXPERIENCED people are welcome to help, offer hints, tips or even practical help in game. Umm I don't think there are any. I guess some of the general tips from ME:3 might apply here but honestly we're all on the same noob boat trying to get use to everything Umm don't melee the floaty merman thing in the balls. Also the thing that looks like a stegosaurus mated with a gorilla has some anger issues. You make get want to steer clear of him.

I also still need to get out of the tutorial challenge. Which may never happen at the rate I'm going. I think it won't be as bad as you imagine. Just take a plunge. I played yesterday, and the Bronze pugs are much, much, much improved over this week. It was really smooth, and folks are at the point when you will have just the right amount of carry by the random strangers on Br. If in doubt, follow the guy with the highest Apex score, and focus on your own survival. But a few Supply packs so you can shoot a rocket if you are in a tight spot and a big boss is coming at you (4), heal up (7) or revive self if nobody is coming for you (5). Pick out the simple mobs, leave the bosses to the higher guys till you can deal with shields and armor with either ammo or your abilities spec. Once your damage is 10K and over in a match, you are getting it. Overall, just go and do it, the water is fine. It's awesome to play with friends, but pugs have their charm too and tons of convenience. I liked starting on an Adept. Good cc, barrier is not too shabby, it primes/detonates easily, and goes well with incendiary ammo.

Yeah, I'm working on Adept. Still stuck on the solo tutorial challenge. Though it looks like it's meant for a group. I have to have some minor surgery Tuesday. After that I'll have lots of time to hang around doing nothing. Or experimenting. Still, I know for sure there are a bunch of players out there who just might want to try it once. I might or might not like it. But I will take the time to do it. I'm enjoying SP and keep going there.

The "challenge" after the first tutorial mission that it sends you to is actually just regular Bronze. It's hard because it's intended for 4 players, but you are trying to solo it. Just queue up for Bronze quick matches, they will be much easier; that's where you're supposed to earn the rest of the Tutorial Challenge badges.

Some tips for beginners: Do the objectives and don't camp the extraction zone. And move around, because the jetpack is awesome.

I was wondering why it was so darned hard. As soon as I'm able, I'll hop in a PUG or see if anyone here is around.
