Drasca

I ran into Drasca a few days ago in MEAMP. It was funny because we had just finished a gold run and someone left. One of the other players mentioned that he was surprised we finished as I was like level 3 or something. At that point I said I didn't really think level mattered as long as you have a good weapon and can aim/play well. I surmised that if you were perhaps more power oriented vs weapons, level might matter more. At that point a voice came over the comms to tell us we had no idea what we were talking about and that we should look at his APEX rating. This is when I noticed that Drasca had just joined sporting a near 9k APEX rating.

I had run into Drasca a few times in the DAIMP days and he was always yelling at everyone in the group. We proceeded to start a new gold game and during the game we would get some condescending remarks about how we were playing. I thought "Wow, he hasn't changed at all".

I deftly left the lobby after the game was complete.

Is it bad that I miss him a little bit? The Drascaslaying was greatness.

Here's the thing about Drasca (and people like him).

He's actually a pretty good player.(*) And he sometimes makes some good points.

But when you present your information in the most arrogant, condescending way possible then nobody wants to listen to you. Also, when you brag about your prowess but you can't back it up (with video proof in this game of videogames) then you undercut your own authority.

(*) judging by DAIMP, I haven't seen him in MEAMP

There's no need to big a jerk or to oversell your own capabilities. There is a huge spectrum of videogame skill. Be happy with wherever you are, and try to get better if you care. Don't brag. When you present your thoughts do so respectfully.

Unless you're on neo-BSN in which case feel free to troll the hell out of people.

This is weird, i literally just played a game with him like 30 min ago. Only reason i recognized the name was bc he had a really high apex rating, and was playing my exact kit (turian havoc, cyclone, hurricane)

Edit: read some of the other posts. Is he supposed to be really good? Because he scored 3rd :/

But seriously, I missed a lot of DAI MP forum drama, played some games with him, didn't have any problems.

He around. I play with him a lot. Dude must have no job because he's always playing. Always. Wish I could do that. And off to work I go ><

He cannot play off host. On host, he's pretty good. But all his builds and kits and tactics are tuned for on host. And he is not the only one, this game is quite different experience even with moderate lag.

I have not played with him since that one time I recorded audio from a match we played together in the DAIMP Beta, where he unequivocally claimed that he was never ever wrong in any single thing he said and that he literally thought every other person was stupid. I then published it on the forums in a thread where he was handily proven wrong in response to him saying that he made a mistake. 

After that point, I realised that his presence brought out an unnaturally vindictive side in me, so I avoided him pretty successfully up until this point. It's easy to do, by the way... I always host my own lobbies. 

Because you and him had a pretty extensive back and fourthing back on old bsn

Oh yes, Mortiel'shere Drasca. Please let those two go at it again. Gold.
