I can understand both points of view. But, at the same time, I want to point out that this community (thanks to Cyonan and to the other mods who are doing such an excellent job) will always be ours, as opposed to Bioware's.

It will be up to us to make a better place here than there.

It's a shame the developer's have decided to insulate themselves from their fans. There is no chance they will get any useful and detailed feedback on Twitter and it's just possible that trolling of developer's could get worse.

I guess I could hope they peek in here from time to time but I won't hold my breath on that score.

What's surprising is that none of you have stated the real reasons EA closed the forums. And it's a simple explanation, although it requires a bit of back story.

The forums were no longer profitable.

You see EA has had a pact with Satan for quite a while. While it's pretty lengthy, what it boils down to is the more gamers are disappointed by EA games, the power Satan provides for the EA server farms. Bioware has hit a lull. No one expects Andromeda for a while and all the talk of other IP's didn't create enough false hope. rather than serving as a power source for EA, the forums were a net drain.

But in closing the forums, EA has generated enough angst to fuel their energy needs until Andromeda launches, crashes and burns.

If y'all had listened to the right sources and taken the right precautions, you would know these things and been prepared.
