After watching some Firefly and hearing Malcolm Reynolds' humor again, i realize that Scott's humor is very similar and that Nathan's voice would have fit perfectly for the role. Anybody else get that?

No.
Look don't get me wrong I love Nathan Fillion.
However he wouldn't fit a 20yr old kid thrust into a leadership roll he is to young and undertrained for.

It's that kinda goofy humor that Ryder has. Big contrast to Shepard.

No. Also, while people complain about default Sara, I personally find default Scott just as hideous, like "Ew."

As much as I love Firefly and Serenity, I don't think he fits the character they were trying to make Scott Ryder out to be.

Nope!
Tom Taylorson did a great job as Scott Ryder. So, no need to wish for a replacement.

Couldn't tell ya. I have almost finished the game and Scott is still in his cryo chamber. I'm never going to wake him or talk to him.

Absolutely not. He's great but this bandwagon of people trying to get him and Katee Sackhoff to play every role under the sun makes no sense to me. (Particularly the latter, considering I have literally never seen her in anything yet she's treated as this nerd acting messianic figure.)
His voice is so distinctive that it would intrude on any type of roleplaying.

I think he'd be a good Alec Ryder.
But Nathan Fillon sounded like a 40 year old man in Firefly.
Same as he did in Castle and now.

I thought Firefly fanboys were finished trying shoehorn Fillion into every role...
I guess next we'll get a post about Joss Whedon should have been the lead story writer...

No. As great as awesome as he is, I don't want to see him as a protagonist but rather a supporting character. Tom Taylorson is perfect.

Katee gets a lot of love from her turn in Battlestar Gal. but to tell you the truth I've really enjoyed her performance in Longmire (which is a great show).

Nope, Tom Taylorson is my favorite if not one of my top 3 favorite bioware protagonist voices. He did really great voicing a 22yr old male space explorer with the background given to male Ryder. No replacement was needed imo.

(As a huge fan of Justified, this actually made me more interested in watching it because I've been missing that store for two years now, haha.) I'd rather have Timothy Olyphant than either of them.

It's really nothing like Justified. Not the least being because Justified is set in Appallachia and full of methheads, Neo-Nazis, rednecks, and the idea that the protagonist is an anarchonism. While Longmire is set in the Northwest where almost no people exist and it's about isolation and change with the protagonist as a embodiment of local values. I love Justified but it's like comparing Castle with Law and Order for dramatically different tones and settings.
