Are you doing an NG+ run? If so this seems to be bugged big time. I'm long past movie night, but the companions keep asking me to collect their stuff for it. I just hope it will trigger like it should. It triggered just fine. Early on. Somehow the game decided I already had all the necessary ingredients. Which didn't keep the companions to ask for fetching their stuff long after movie night was over. In the NG+ run it was also the first time my Ryder didn't go invisible. I'm not sure if that's tied to NG+ or not having an LI on the Tempest.

Right now, the secret in not ending up with an invisible Ryder seems to be either doing an NG+ run or not having an LI. This time round I had a visible Ryder, with Drak sleeping on her shoulder. I actually experienced a bug-free Movie Night in my initial PT, and had the bug in my NG+. (The initial PT was with version 1.04, though, so 'nuff said.) You're probably right about the romance-free option. After this, my third PT, that will be an option. (I have to get that romance trophy!) This seems to be the only universal bug introduced by v1.05. Others seem varied. I just experienced Liam's and Jaal's cultural exploration via insults scene without a second, truncated Jaal. It was much more enjoyable. I had no idea that Jaal had walked in butt-ass naked, until I saw his pink ass on the way out. That was funny.

I liked it. It helps estabilish the crew's relations for the next games. I mean, we all appreciate the OT friendship, but Citadel DLC and Mass Effect 3, the last game on the trilogy, was the only moments we ever saw such moments happening and made it believable. I mean, Garrus and Tali became friends because they talked on elevators in ME? Hmm.. Right. At least show us our interactions,eh? Movie night was good, altough its timing could be a little better, like unlocking post end game or stuff like that. I didn't get around to it until either post-endgame or near there, which made it kind of work. I think it would be really forced early in the game.

Yeah, what I meant about the timing was that it could unlock as part of the epilogue. Making it happen in the time period between obtaining the Scourge data, finding Meridian and race against the Archon was kinda off.

Movie night eventually worked out for me. Also, Ryder didn't do a disappearing act, safely cuddling with Gil.

I usually hate cheese, but this wasn't bad at all, in my opinion. I thought it was humorous and well done. It's clear that it's meant to be a joke, with people falling asleep and/or making fun of the terrible movie. Even the description of the film notes its critical reviews. I felt like this was simple fun for a few minutes, and 1000 times less stupid than anything we saw in Citadel DLC. I have no idea how zipzap2000 can compare this to Tali's singing. I looked that up once, and still shudder. I liked the concept of it alot, personally. ME1-3 always had a thing about 'the bang before the final mission,' but I felt like this made a better culminating moment than most of those. Maybe it's because I'm indifferent/dead fish for most of the romances, but I was glad to have something. I remember back in the past- on the original BSN- advocating for something like a 'poker night' for non-LI characters if the player didn't have a romance. So, say, in ME2- instead of getting less sleep/trying to get Tali killed before the suicide mission even begins- you could have gone to the mess hall and joined/abstained from joining a game of cards or something. So when I say this, I was excited to see how it would turn out, and I liked it. It had a little bit of participation from everyone- a lot of gradual buildup- and even a little bit for the people with a LI. It was friendly, sweet, and a good way to wrap up the group as a collection of friends and not just coworkers. (Something Bioware's gotten a lot better at since ME2.) So I say yay- it was a success- and I wonder what it might be in the future. Everyone going out for dinner at a bar/resteraunt? A beach? Hotspring episode? It could be fun.

I didn't get around to it until either post-endgame or near there, which made it kind of work. I think it would be really forced early in the game. I don't think so. What I think is, that they should have created more of these hangouts on the Tempest. There are also these little scenes on the actual planets. Such as Liam with his soccer games, Cora with her flowers. My main gripe with all of these scenes is, they don't seem as natural as they seemed in ME3. True, the squad mates talk over the intercom with each other, but other than that, they don't really interact. Now remember ME3, when they got together, sat in that lounge for a game of cards, talking shop or Garrus and James having their little gutsy contest. Hell, there's even a scene where Garrus and Tali develop something of a romance. You could stumble over a dead drunk Ashley in her quarters. What I mean, this game seems rather lifeless in comparison to what ME3 offered in terms of squadie interactions. I always was curious what would develop when next touring the ship. I don't want to bash the game, since I'm still having fun playing it, but that's certainly one thing I miss. Even more so, since I hoped they would build on what they already had in place. But let's be honest here. Characters don't interact, they just stand in three or four predetermined places or walk along the same predetermined path without visibly interacting with each others.

Really? I thought this was mostly on par with ME3 myself- or at least, as well as it could have been considering a new engine and lesser resources. While shooting on the Citadel with Garrus was probably one of the best Bioware companion scenes to date, it's pretty far down on the priority list when most of Andromeda... looked like andromeda. More Asari faces, fewer Asari clones before we get started on the real ambitious stuff. Get the engine down so that the next Vega fight scene isn't another Tuchanka slap-fight.
But for the low-cost stuff- squadmates socializing?- Andromeda's got the same sort of thing as ME3. They have social dialogue. They'll be beside eachother, or comming. There's less sitting around in a lounge room, but that's because there really isn't a public one per-see. But there's a fair-deal of companion interaction, even if less overall than ME3, but ME3 itself wasn't all great. That scene with Ashley, for example, was pretty much the One Scene you'd get without recruitment. The ME3 cast could run out of things to say, at which point they only showed up at a few pre-determined places and walked or stayed still without visibly interacting.

Heh, on the NG+, I did not even have to get the components. I've had Lexi and Liam tell me that I've got what's needed, then clicked on a vendor in Kadara because the Quest fast-forwarded to the "get the movie for Liam", and the movie night was available. Figured with everyone complaining how they can't get it... I've report that it can be fast-tracked too. All the fun w/o any chores running Loved the thing, btw, it was pretty funny. I don't have Citadel DLC, so this is my first experience with the full crew doing fun stuff after DA:I card game, and I liked the ME:A one more.

Loved the thing, btw, it was pretty funny. I don't have Citadel DLC, so this is my first experience with the full crew doing fun stuff after DA:I card game, and I liked the ME:A one more. Citadel was so much more, but that was a full blown DLC, not included in the main game. As I said, I miss these little moments of the crew really interacting with each other, forming friendships and rivalries of some sort. This crew just communicates over the intercom.
