One day BioWARE will write a leading man companion that romances the female PC, and he is not going to become the universally hated character. Two or three more decades maybe? Oh, well, poor Pretty Eyes. They already do that in DA, all the time. Cullen, Alistair, Blackwall, and Anders, all have huge followings. But every time they do it in ME this happens.

It breaks my heart that you get a whole 'Oh, the Quarian ship with all the other species on left late' excuse for not having loads of the races I want to see not make it to Andromeda yet. What bothers me most about this is that every other species had atleast a few representatives on the Nexus. Why didn't the Drell and Quarians have that aswell? If you only had to make like 5 - 10 models of each it would've been no problem. Actually we didn't even have see the others in game, just aslong as we knew they were there. Its kinda cheap that they did us in like that. Also there is plenty of Salarians in the game, gimme! One of the sidequests you get sent on for, I think it was Voeld? They send you to go find some missing Drill Techs. I misheard it as Drell Techs and I got excited for a moment thinking that maybe some had made it. No. Just humans. Crushing blow.

What I saw in the polls indicate that Anders and Alistair at least are hated as much as they are loved. I am glad Cullen made it past the firewall! Blackwall barely registers on the like/love polls I have seen, though so many years down the road it's probably just a muted echo of the old earthquakes.

Anomen Derlyn started it. Sorry. Sir Anomen Derlyn. #blameanomen? Totally. He scarred me for life. Every time I hear "my lady", I start throwing heavy objects in random directions. Liam's a treasure in comparison. And, yeah, there were Riggs, Vector and Quinn who did worse with me as well.

All mass Effect Andromeda squad mates>>>>>>>>>>Jacob, James Vega, Ashley Williams and Kaiden
Robotic Liara comes close to being terrible but she grew on me. She's still a walking iPhone Siri in Asari skin.
I ended up liking all six in Andromeda pretty equally for their own aspects. I didn't expect to like Peebee and Liam was still fun in combat and great for dialogue when he's with Jaal.
I laughed a good bit with all of them except Liam. They all had personalities that were unique and colorful this time instead of being dry and weirdly super serious like the original trilogy's

how could you hate James? James didn't fit in. He was the new guy for the new players in the 3rd game of a huge franchise? Really? Nope, get off my ship James. He was ok in the Citadel DLC, but at that point everything was ok.

He just felt out of place and tacked on for me. If his character was in Andromeda for a fresh start, I would have probably liked him more. ME3 was just a huge disappointment for me anyways

But because of the order i did the missions him and my fem Shepard developed great chemistry on and off the field.

I didn't hate any of the squad but it's no surprise Cora and Liam are generally considered the least interesting.
Another case of starting humans being too generic to stand out against aliens. Cora probably should have just been an Asari for all her crushing on them as a species and the best I can say about Liam is he's not as bad a Jacob
Honestly you'd think they'd work a bit harder on their human characters given the apathy toward so many of them. Not like they can't make them awesome, Zaeed and Kasumi for example (though they were DLC "coincidentally").

Liam is fun, but not fun enough when you have Drack or Jaal + Cora. That combo was my main. I actually felt bad for barely using him Liam, but his loyalty mission was one of the best.

Peebee hands down. "like yeah" No Peebee, like no. Get your ass off my ship. Too bad there wasn't an option to say no to having her on the ship. Of course the crap she pulled with the escape pod didn't help. Me personally, I would've left her on the planet. My Shepard, would've thrown her in the lava

Liam and Cora, because they had the distinct disadvantage of being your starting companions who Ryder are suppose to have known and have an existing rapport, but for us player just met. Everyone else you meet for the first time, so the progression of the relationship between them and Ryder is in sync with progression of the relationship between the player and them. Its the same reason I didn't like Kaidan Alenko.
Liam and Cora would have benefited from a prologue/tutorial section in the milky way where we go through boot camp with them or something.

I legitimately, and routinely, forget Liam is in the game. I have forgotten him several times while making the rounds in the Tempest to talk to my crew.
