I now have 1001 Thermal Clip Packs in my inventory. They persist through logout.
I was hoping it would be, at most, 999, and then start giving you the other ones. Nope.
I also have 300 Ops Packs now, so I should be good through today and tomorrow.

There is literally no other point in having a cap of over 1000 equipment...hell even 500 other than to make it so people can't max them out to make the game even more of a grind. To resort to doing things like this how bad do you have to think your game is? Why is making the grind even worse a better idea than making the gameplay and the MP itself good enough to keep people and place some confidence in that as opposed to cheap stuff like this?

So, if after 2 weeks, you have 1000, then, what, after a year, you'll have, what, 1000*26=26,000 Wait, what again... Man, this is a lot of thermal clips. What are you going to do with that many?

Well... wasn't the max in ME3MP 255? I think it was 255 as they used 1 byte to store the values. God knows how they coded it now but if they used 2 bytes now, that could bring us to a theoretical max of 65535. Good luck.

Respec cards and Uncommon/Rare/UR character cards were also unlimited in the early days of ME3MP, and caps were added due to player complaints.

Don't worry, I've had more than a beer or two at this point! (My weekend starts Wednesday at 3:30 ) I legitimately had to think about the joke before I made it. I'm right there with you. I'm hoping we see some reasonable caps on these things. It might help the drop pool. (Not entirely sure, PenguinFetish would know better) I remember having well past 3 respecs in ME3MP and using the excess ones for no other reason than to burn through them.

It would help the drop pool in the sense that, in ME3MP, once you capped one, you would either get bonus cards of the others, or more of the "Booster" types such as Weapon Rail Amps. With no cap, or a theoretical cap of 65535, it will be that much harder to grind up a stock of the ones you use the most.

True, and considering I'm mostly working on my solo game at the moment (without consumables, not trying to be a hard bastard, just that lazy that I don't wanna set them; not until Gold anyway), I'm hoping we see a cap soon. Very soon. I'd prefer a much, much higher chance for my beloved Salarian Operator, the character that brings together two things I absolutely adore; huge support (Shield Booster) and Salarians (why? I don't know. I've always loved these big eyed, horned nerds).

They did the same damn thing with potions in DAIMP. Eventually capped them so you'd only find the ones you were actually using. With any luck, the same thing will happen here, but I'm pretty sure that change was thanks to a certain dev who actually read the forums.

That's one of my concerns with certain changes, that the lines of communication are different now than in ME3MP. I know some of the devs visit here, but I doubt it's the same like it was in the original BSN days. And I certainly don't want to pester individuals, or even the main ME account, on Twitter about every change I would like to see. Official forums were good for knowing that at least some of the concerns people had were being seen.

In another thread they said a dev confirmed it was 65535. That's standard 16-bit integer limit. In ME3 it was 8-bit (255 cap). They're moving up in the world, at least somewhere + obligatory meme for the OP

That's the price of pugging. My situation isn't quite that bad but I can relate. Usually I wouldn't be caught dead pugging unless looking for a filler, but thanks to the amazing EAware and their great testing, every single time I try to play with a friend they either blue screen or the lag is so terrible that its unplayable for someone. I got tired of wasting all of my equipment so I've started playing the vanguards to supplement. I am really liking the Human right now. What's really bad is after todays balance patch when they nerf melee as well as the equalizer and vanquisher how are we going to kill anything? Run around as a team until we ball up the wave and take turns shooting them with cobra missiles?

I have had my fill of shooting enemies 33 times in the face to kill them. I guess I can log on and whip out the new UR I got the P.A.W. It's like a PPR right? I'm sure I can wreck with that!

that could bring us to a theoretical max of 65535. Good luck. Good - more than enough ammo for five headshots with the M-76. My kind of logistics.
eventually I'm gonna have to stop all these 2015 vintage jokes and actually buy the friggin' game

That's the price of pugging. Haha I can completely relate to this! I'm often down to 0 medi gels after most games haha. Such a n00b. But how do you have more cobras and ops packs than thermal clip packs! Do you use a lot of grenade/tactical cloak/trip mine/flak cannon classes?
