Been using 6b barricade with a raptor since the game launched and it really is awesome. It's like being a tank in a traditional mmorpg game. This is really evident during upload waves and specially hack waves where all four of the team is in one spot. I go up the front or door or chokepoint and deploy barricade while everyone else take cover. Sometimes there are people who are familiar with a rank 6 barricade and duck behind it with me. What happens is I tank all the enemies up front while behind barricade, and the rest of the team goes trigger happy in a shooting gallery, and man all the glorious explosions happening is nerdgasmic. Like the above posters said, berserkers or even hydras cant climb over. I've only tried it on a fiend twice I think, on fbzero, at the doorway on the corner furthest from the extraction point, and the fiend just stood there while being pelted with bullets. I don't know if anyone has experienced this though, but sometimes as soon as I deploy a barricade right in front of a hydra and it does its punching/swiping animation, my barricade gets destroyed right away. Saw it happen again just a few minutes ago while being grouped with a salarian architect, and it both happened to us. Soon as my 'cade got destroyed, the architect plopped one down and it got destroyed too by a hydra swipe. I didn't notice if a power cell was used up, as we were right beside an ammo box. Not sure if it's a bug or working as intended either, but it's not gamebreaking, only added to the fun! Human sentinels and barricades are awesome. I have 3 level 20 X's, a human soldier, human sentinel, and an asari adept, and I like how they're all different playstyle wise. That happens when they interrupt your cast. It didn't actually place the Barricade, and your Power Cell count probably didn't go down.

Like the Lemur I have trouble seeing how this works in a mobile playstyle. Might be fun for solos? You're also not limited to hiding behind a barricade after putting one down. While I certainly abuse the cover when I need to, I definitely stay mobile otherwise. Excellent kit, very fun to play. Extremely effective+carry potential. Definitely in my top 3 100%. If you're tired of hiding behind cover 98% of the game with a vanquisher, definitely give this kit a run through with Barricade 6b.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I originally had the word 'aggressive' in the build title (but due to some derping on reddit I had to re-post and then left out that word) -- this is an aggressive build. The Barricade is not (primarily) for hiding behind, it's for priming enemies, messing up boss pathing, and controlling the battlefield.
Edit: I find 3 power cells to be plenty on most waves. If you run out, pop a Thermal Clip Pack. If you're always running out, spec for more power cells or take the +powercell boosters.

At this point if you want to play a Human Sentinel with 1 point in Barricade you are probably better off just playing the Asari Sentinel instead. Still, with both a male and female Human Sentinel why wouldn't you use different builds on each anyway? The Salarian Architect could become viable if they ever get the passive duration bonuses working properly as an extra 50% duration would be useful for locking down entire rooms. Barricade is a great skill and unlike Lance, I'm actually happy more than one kit has it.

Human Sentinel is a loads of fun really. It's exactly what I have been looking for - lots of automatic weapon fire, chain tech explosions, great defenses and it even supports team while at it with shield recharge and CC.
Out of 4 characters I got to 20 so far - HInfiltrator, Kineticist, Duelist and HSentinel, this is by far the best.
If Biovar will buff combos and powers... well son, that would be nuclear.

So, do you have to drop the barricade right on the enemies to prime them? Because I've had enemies standing two feet away not be affected by electric defense. They literally have to be on top of me for it to work it seems.

It does not need to be right on top of them.

Or stop being a pussy, run in and drop this shit right in their stupid mouths and then proceed to double splosion, whip out your Revenant or Hurrdurricane and spray them with lead while they dance in electric puddles.
Blow up more explosions when cooldowns are up for more FUn.
Works like a charm, the only guys who do not give a fuck are berserkers and boss units.
Bonus points if space dogs try to bite you - they get permastunned and that's like free splosions right there.
This shit works because you have fuckton of CC, cover where the fuck you want it and 43% passive gun damage and accuracy.

I wasn't host, so it could have just been lag.

If you can find a nice corner or other piece of cover you can put the Barricade down such that Berserkers (or other melee-ers) will repeatedly get electrified by the Barricade while you stand just out of reach. You need to be close enough that they try to melee you but far enough that they whiff. Then you just combo and headshot them until they die.
Works well on the bridge on Firebase Zero, the end of the walkway on Derelict, or inside the buildings on Icebreaker.

Yeah, if lag is really bad, pc and npc location synchronization gets pretty unreliable. Also only seems to affect ground units... Observers seem to fly above the electric zone. Another reason to hate those things. Lol.

So, I'm up to level 8 and really enjoying the build. Get a lot of points for support which is nice and I've learned to not be so conservative with the barricades. It's really enjoyable so far and I like how I can actually eat a bit of damage and not instantly drop. I was actually topping scores and beating out a level 20 salarian infiltrator after getting usrd to it- though I can't really brag. A level 20 playing on bronze and silver usually isn't the strongest player anyway.
Been using my Hurricane III as my go to. Leveled Barricade and Tech Armor first and now going with Energy Drain for more survivability and comboing.
Thanks for the guide!

Brr, I've tried barrier 6b now and still find it quite awful. Priming was inconsistent at times and the range wasn't really that great. Tested against remnants. Fucking observers...

This build is pretty much how the Sentinel should be played imho. I had the exact same thoughts as the OP when I first looked at skills and built her.
Barricade 6B is extremely useful when the dogs, Krogan, or other annoying shit wants to get in your melee range. And it's really good against Krogans, you can just sit there and continue trading fire.
Weapons.. I always try something else, depends on what you have.. Combination of both Scorpion and Talon worked pretty good for me so far. Haven't tried her with a sniper, but blind firing Scorpion in defense in combination with your powers and combos seems to be pretty effective form of self-defense cc.

We get two, so I run em differently. One for power/offense and one for weapons/shields. The priming barricade is more fun, and as SalMasRac said, its basically the bubble 2.0.
The class itself is by far one of the better designed classes in the game, and has very few if anything it can't do well. I am excited to see what this character will be able to do once our power combos are more than aesthetics.
