The animation is less distracting, and the more lifelike eyes make a significant difference. Especially when the characters are in brightly lit rooms. I never had an issue with party banter in the Nomad so no difference there. The lighting is improved a bit, and I noticed that enemies do hit a bit harder than before. Overall I'd say it's very good, but loses points for the obvious shoulda-been-here-already thing.

Noticed banter was up on the Nomad while I was driving around Vauld. In fact I think Jaal and Cora used up all of their banter.

It's definitely a significant improvement, seriously though why didn't they just delay the game? They were able to come out with a decent fix in the span of 2 weeks, would a 1 or 2 month delay really have been that bad?

If they can make this game play smoothly on 2X 980's @1440p I will be happy as a clam. What they have done so far is pretty good though.

Everything was fine until I ran into a game breaking dialogue bug that keeps looping the same convo over and over with no way out (good-bye option leads to the same loop).

They were able to come out with a decent fix in the span of 2 weeks, would a 1 or 2 month delay really have been that bad? Because they outsourced the animation fixes. The company they chose said we need till july or june(?) Reccomended holding the game back till april. Bio said no, they also said no to allowing their own designers to help fix it. Seems like somebody was in a rush to get it out the door. I also think egos were at work but I have nothing to base that on so call me paranoid.

No, Peebee next to the research terminal/AVP station. At first I thought I just hit the wrong option (it happens) but then every single option I picked led to the same convo.

Where's the
" All of this should have been in at launch, and therefore I'm too smart to be giving Bioware any credit whatsoever"
Option?
Because that's the one that I'd pick, and is the one that would hopefully win this vote

I'm impressed. It's not just animations and eyes that have been "fixed", though they're garnering the most attention. Lighting is greatly improved (on PS4, at least), and some game balance changes have been implemented. I'm also experiencing significantly fewer glitches since installing. (Other than some momentary slowdown just after installing, I've actually not experienced any. Wow. That's hard to believe.)
It's true that this stuff would've ideally been done before release; but they ran out of time and the fiscal year forecast could not be compromised. Anyone who has worked in business can understand fiscal "lines in the sand".
It's heartening to look at the list of still pending changes, as well as to read that today's patch is actually just one-third of the work that was submitted to BioWare. This game, already a favorite of mine, will be whipped into shape, yet! I'm also pleased to see that the online narrative has duly shifted, as critics acknowledge both today's improvements, and BioWare's candor and ownership of the problems.

Companies are willing to spend millions on advertising, yet they couldn't delay the game a little so it could have this patch on release but they had to i guess. at this point the game already became a meme however the patch is really good. they still deserve to be criticized for releasing the game without it on launch but them tending to it so fast is better than certain companies that do nothing.

I'm faced with the still present issue that I still have quest items in my inventory after I did a New Game +. And talking to characters that need that item leads to mission steps being completed or skipped. Anyone know of a way to get rid of these things?

If the release date had been "November", it no doubt would've been delayed. In fact, I'm reasonably certain that this happened. EA had already forecasted their fiscal performance, though, with this game's profits in mind. This type of thing is immutable, after a certain stage. This was absolutely normal and reasonable on their part. It was also reasonable that they expect to finally see a profit after 5 years of development time. It was tight, and it had some negative consequences in the form of a poorly received launch; but BioWare got it done, in the end. Now, the game will be brought up to more reasonable standards.

Yea which is why i said they had to i guess. still it is a shame cause the game is really improved in such a short time and memes on the internet as hilarious as they can be are actually powerful (like the poor woman that had career issues thanks to it, or the actor that thankfully got money for cancer treatment because of it) so i hope it doesn't affect the future of the IP negatively cause many on the internet were waiting for Bioware to screw up honestly.

I hadn't heard of those anecdotes. Crazy! EA and BioWare were likely not surprised by the backlash, which is why they managed it with grace, this time. After all, they hired a 3rd party to do this clean up work just before release, and we're encouraged to delay until summer. That being the case, the scores and bile likely won't matter, as long as sales are good. If sales are hurt, who knows? They can't afford to do this again, certainly. Once is embarrassing. Twice would be a pattern, and maybe a deathknell.

Crazy indeed of course they were waiting for it. they knew what they were releasing. they indeed don't get a second chance or perhaps a 3rd chance if we count Hudson team's ME3 ending and thats the point. scores indeed don't matter most likely for EA as long as the sales are good, although now the Montreal team can't brag about scores unlike the Edmonton team on their page xD

P.S. The only thing I can think of doing, is doing another New Game + from my original finished playthrough and see if that will do the trick.

They need to adjust it so that these special items are not retained in the inventory for NG+. I think they should disappear after they're used, to be honest. I'm still lugging around Liam's adjusted armor.
