Not sure how but first time I played W2 I ended up with a sword that does extra damage to dragons - convenient for the last fight, yes? But this time I don't have any such sword. Hmm, maybe I'll get once I finish the gargoyle quest? Or maybe it's only available if you get the quests from Roche's path instead? Well, that would kinda suck since I already had trouble on easy mode and this time I'm all the way up to normal. Mmm that's weird I don't ever remember getting such a sword but then again my memory is like a sieve!!! There is a schematic for a sword named after a dragon Zerrikanterment that or something like that that you can buy from Bras of Ban Ard , best bet is to use the oil for your sword that does dragon damage. There is a quest in the sewers I think I have only ever managed to complete once so maybe it's something to do with that, I don't remember it being part of the gargoyle quest but again caveat above.

Maybe the Secrets of Loc Muinne quest I terminated with prejudice by killing Cynthia and her pet? I just used extra damage oils and it worked fine. It's so annoying that I finally got some epic, sharp looking armor (with visible legs even) right at the end of the game. I had the Vran armor and Elder Blood everything else (trousers, gauntlets, boots) so Geralt was looking pretty spiffy. Then he got set on fire 100 times.

I love that fight atop the tower. The kinds of attacks the dragon makes are so cool.
Uugggghh.....I needed about 20 attempts to get up to Sile's room. For a witcher, Geralt sure doesn't move very fast in order to keep his ass from catching on fire! The over 200% incineration resistance was apparently quite worthless. I actually had to turn the voice sound off because I got so tired of hearing Sile taunt me, so, yeah, that bitch fried in her megascope.
The dragon fight was fine, except the first time I missed a roll and got fried right off the bat. Then went for a short ride, forcing the dragon to land. Right on a tree skewer. Oops. Used the dagger to unbind Saskia, then had a nice chat with her. I wondered if the dragon Geralt met in the books was her father and yep, he was.
Back to Loc Muinne to see the ruins ruined even more, and on fire (how stone can catch on fire, I've no idea). Radovid the Madovid and his fanatics are a menace. Can't wait to take him down in W3. Well, I guess Philippa will get the honors but close enough.
Met Iorveth on the way, killed some more soldiers, then had an even nicer chat with Letho. Didn't kill him this time either even though I thought I might as I was playing through.
Kind of interesting really.....Geralt let Berengar, who hated being a witcher so much he betrayed them, live, and he came back to help at a critical moment. Now, he also let Letho, who loved being a witcher so much he betrayed the entire north, live, and he will also come back to help at a critical moment (I'm not importing my save this time, so I can make sure Letho is alive in W3).
Not sure exactly when I will start that long march. Maybe tomorrow? I'm also undecided on whether to do a NG+ or start fresh again.
My canon run in TW2 is to kill Letho. He's simply too dangerous and the effort Geralt has to go through just to clear his name is far too arduous. So I can't let him live. His depiction in TW3 is inconsistent for a few reasons I won't go into due to spoilers, but basically, Letho and him do not part on good terms. Geralt basically tells him to get the hell out of dodge.

Yeah that armour combo was my favourite. One thing that really annoyed me in TW2 was getting that last armour schematic and really only getting to use it once and some of them whilst having great stat's were bloody awful looking. They needed to make the schematics available at the start of sections not the end of them.

Devil May Cry 2. Finished Dante's missions and am very, very happy I left the last three for today. Since they were super awesome being awake and alert, but could see it having been quite frustrating if I'd been more sleepy. Met the man and his dogs again and once again murdered the man while doing my best to ignore his puppers. Not as cheesy this time since there was no place to hide, so just lots of slashing and praying. Was expecting a pretty complicated boss fight in the next level, since the walkthrough was separated into parts and stuff, but he was actually quite chill. Then again met the man who didn't give a damn and realized in his fight that I could have probably killed the dogs in the fight before that. Since you're just locked on to his health meter but his cronies were in fact, not invincible. Which is an egg on my face I guess. And makes much more sense, since I had killed the dogs one on one earlier in the game, so thinking they were invincible there was super annoying. Heh. Sigh... Still, fun fight. Even nabbed a shot of him having a sit down enjoying the show. Granted it's tiny, but like, excuse you, we are having an epic battle here. On the other hand, smacking him off his seat was funny. Then final boss fight, in which the game was really nice to me, since idiot me didn't figure to stock up proper. Just had one tiny lil healing potion. So figured I'd just die and then power up for the next go. Made it half way into the fight before I had to use the potion (game gave me two lil health boosts on the level) and then around 4/5th I died. :C. But the yellow stone I had in my bag from who knows when triggered, giving me full health + full demon trigger. NOICE. So pulled through the rest. BUT WAIT. There was more. So I was kinda screwed, but made it half way though the fight before dying. Alas. The game asked Continue or Quit. And I said Continue, figuring I'd end up on the start screen or maybe be unlucky and be just kicked straight into the boss fight from before. But no, it popped me in on the second boss, full health and full demon trigger. Which was a massive bro move I was not expecting and the game gets pluses in my book. Pulled through and got a cool cutscene to boot. Got 420 screenshots from this game at that moment (well plus the first one...) so that's nice. Lucia's campaign was short and sweet. So to speak. Mission 7-8 can go die in a fire, or better yet, drown in it's underwater hell. But otherwise there was a lot less annoyance than from Dante's campaign. Story was a bit the same but the changes were nice. Made me hanker for Ys Origins a little. But all in all, quite fun. Liked the little variances. Then moved on to Devil May Cry 3. And so far I am very much enjoying the extra slices of ham. Or what ever this game is. Very nice. Might get grating later, but so far very nice. Combat is another issue. Because I'm very bad at it. But at the same time I'm feeling a bit stubborn. So the sensible thing would be to go easy mode (which the game kindly unlocked to me after the second missions boss killed me. 5 times. Then it took 5 more times (granted still on normal) to put her down) even if it's a bit too easy at the moment. Since I figure the game will get harder but I won't learn. But I want to keep trying. Maybe get good. Maybe throw the computer into the ocean. Either way. Headache for later.

Started W3 with a NG+. While I like having my epic Wolf gear right away and skipping the tutorial fights at Kaer Morhen, it's a bit jarring to see stuff in my inventory from Blood & Wine, like all the paintings and the White Wolf wine. Soooo....I might restart back at level 1.
Also forgot to install any of the mods I dl'd, so I might do that before restarting.

More Devil May Cry 3, yep I'm continuing. Going to be more play by play than the others, since I really could use some breaks between missions. So it's gonna be long, thus spoilers. Also spoilers. And pictures as well. Did manage to beat the boss I was stuck on yesterday (on normal). That glorious clicking after venting magic. And that nice feeling of having read that if I manage that fight I should manage the rest of the game So today started at mission 4. Had checked it out on easy before, but stupid pride was putting a damper on it. So since that was out of the way I went exploring. And died fairly early, but that led me to find out that I didn't have the move Stinger, so of course I couldn't use it. Oops. So got the move and Dante's style increased significantly. Walked with rhythm, woke up the worm, killed it so it'll never learn. Was quite proud of pulling it off in the first go. Granted I used 2 large vitality stars and one small one, but still. Then went to the next room. And oh no. D: This is a thing. He's a funny guy though and marked the end of mission 4. Whoop. Ended up having to fight the funny fellow after he gave me the most horrible enemy to fight with. Blood bats. Granted they are a lot less scary after I read their file and realized the using a sword on them is basically duplicating them and guns are the way to go. Ooops. Did die to them once, but the Jester fight was just one go. (I think, it was close at least.) Then I got lost on what to do, so had to look up a walkthrough where to go. Then went shopping in real life while the game was on at home. Then came back and was still lost. So it makes sense that my rank for time taken finishing the level was a D. Heh. Eventually found my way. Then got stuck at another boss. Got half-wayish a couple of times before caving in and looking at the walkthrough. Which suggested a different style and the Cerberus weapon. And that got me through. Yay. Since I didn't want to exit the game and have to deal with the funny guy again. Or well, that meeting of him. And now I got new weapons. Sadly Dante told them to shut up. Which is sad because some polite commentary would have been nice. So now done with mission 5, so 1/4 through the game. Yay. Not going to do the secret missions since they are skill based and I have none. :C Then a bit of brain teasing, which was fun. Some a bit frustrating, but fun. Next two bits were a bunch of "If you don't succeed, try try again." Oh so many tries. And then some more. And eventually, success! Take that reloadless scum! Yes! Spiders! And you know what makes spiders better? Making the top half a pretty lady. Nah jk he's reacting to this lady. And with that (and a extra mission but it was mostly cutscenes) made it past mission 10! Half way there! Making that the end of today's session, but all in all it was pretty fun. Really frustrating at parts but nicely satisfying once I got through it.

Besides, this starts right after the end of W2 so in theory I should actually start at that level, which I think was about 35.
Just finished (I think) getting mods into the mod manager. I hope my game doesn't break.

Well, looks like I spoke too soon. After starting the game with the mods installed, for some reason half the menu options don't work, ie nothing pulls up when I click on the option. Not sure which might affect that, maybe the sorting one? I disabled all of them and nothing changed, so now I'm validating the game files on Steam. Sigh.
Here is what I installed with the manager:
Auto Loot Book Collection No Forced Tutorial Sort Everyhing Tenz Walk By Default Extra Sockets Buyable Rare Mutagens Fast Travel from Roach No More Boat Sail Toussaint Bright Interiors Unlimited Durability Unlimited Oxygen Unlimited Weight
Edit: Steam definitely found some errors as it is now dl'ing 2.4GB worth of files that it couldn't validate.

Witcher 3
So I re-validated the files, then activated the mods one at a time (left out the sorting one and couple others I won't need until DLC time) and everything seems to be working ok. So, on to playing. And yay for Steam where I can take screenshots again.
Nice view, even for a dream
I missed you so much!
And lookie who I found at the inn, just bursting with information about Yennefer.
He's looking nice and creepy in that second shot.
Won a round of Gwent with a scholar also hanging out at the inn, and picked up a couple quests from the notice board. I know Vesemir said we need to keep a low profile, but we still gotta eat. Maybe if I hadn't bought all those Gwent cards.....

In Madden: Beat the Giants 41-7. For awhile it was 17-7 most of the way in the second quarter but then I scored two touchdowns in the last four minutes. My defense obviously did a great job, their running attack was picking up yards and putting together drives but they always fizzled out. No points were scored in the third by either team and then ten in the fourth. I even put in my backup who had a higher QBR then either of the Giants QBs. He hit Watson on a 42 yard pass and then Ryder on an eight. My running game sucked though even though it did get a TD. Didn't turn the ball over though and Brady had...four TDs of his own. Spread the ball really well. Edelman had 7 catches a hundred plus yards and two first quarter TDs but other than that there was a lot of 4s and 3s. Overall very well played game.

Devil May Cry 3. Slowly trudging on. Did mission 11 and 12 earlier today. Which included meeting the infamous Beowulf, who was really easy so I expect an encore given how much grief he gave people in the boss fight tips for other bosses. But for now I can snerk at him looking silly. What even are you? And played Chicken with a very irate horse. Which was an experience. Then got proper stuck on mission 13 boss, since he was too fast for me. Ended up going back to the first mission to grind up red orbs to invest in some proper healing items since getting through that fight in one health bar seemed like a no go. And still had massive problems with him. Eventually quit the session to do something else. Was on the verge of giving up and calling it quits for today, but decided to do a "one more go" and pulled through. Using holy water, 1 small vital star, 1 large vital star and 1 rebirth. And it was still kinda close. But Dante won and the other guy hasn't got a reload button. Got rewarded with a neat cutscene, so was happy about that. Then tentatively went for missions 14 and 15. Luckily they were just navigating + puzzle solving, so I managed. Eventually. Started level 16 but was feeling tired, so took a quick peak at a walkthrough and it seems like there is a boss at the end which I'm not ready to deal with today. But got 5 missions down, so 3/4 through the game! Toughest parts are probably yet to come, but still. Combat was a pain but the session was quite fun cutscene wise, so calling it a decent session.

Auroa archipelago. Trekking the woodlands during the golden hour. Looking for prey. I am sorry. I didn't mean to blow up your car. Scouts honor. I had some wolves following me up in the mountains. Found me a nice perch. 224 m. Come to mama. Blam. Howdy stranger. Name's Nomad.
This game is soooo good. Needs a little polish, or could use a little more polish. It still is some mighty fine murder hobo gaming.

So more Devil May Cry 3. Turns out the walkthrough I was reading was from the first game. Heh. I though the boss names sounded familiar, but he they could have just made a reappearance. But nope, no boss fight for that mission. So to speak. There was a little run around the library with Lady which was fun. But the level itself was a bit weary so was fine with having just left it for today. Next level was okay as well. Boss fight was fun because it was easy. Hehe. Was fighting a shadow version of Dante and just had to turn all the lights on and then smack him around a little bit. It was easy because he was just chilling in the middle trying to egg me into a fight. Which like, just wait a lil moment while I blind you and then I'll give you a tanning. Damn you game. DAMN YOU. You could have asked me if I was ready to go. I WASN'T. Mission 18 was a boss smorgasbord of all the old bosses. Sounds tough right? So there are two doors in the level and then boss slabs to enter the boss fights. One door lead back to where I came, but didn't know about the other. So won Cerberus, Leviathans hearts, Geryon, the Brothers, Shadow Dante and only had Beowulf and Nevan to go. And then I decided to check the other door, in case there might be some goodies. IT WAS THE MISSION END. DAMN YOU GAME AND THE HORSE YOU RODE ON. But at least the reward was just a blue orb. So... And also it's nice of the game to not force you to go through all the bosses again. So I take my damnings back. But I would have liked a warning... Anyways Mission 19. May have gotten a bit lost before finding the boss. Heh. As in ran 10 rooms past the one I should have stopped in. Boss went fine though. Had to look up how to go about it since he whopped me good in the first try, but managed on the second try. And am now stuck on Mission 20. Basically just trying to punch water at this moment. Since the biggest dent I'm making is like 1/10th of his health which he then heals a few moments later. Aaaaaalmost got him down to half-ish in my best round. Still not too mad yet, since it's the last mission of the game. So got that far at least. \o/Also that moment when you type down a vent, decide to have a "one more go for laughs" (granted before going farming for orbs and win him through attrition) and manage to plow through in one go? Feels good man. Did read a tip about using Beowulf's little mittens and that did the trick. But was honestly not expecting to win since I didn't do to good with them when I tried them on the other levels. Also only used 2 large Vital stars. Which was pretty nice. End cutscene was nice and might have qualified for the secret ending cut scene as well if I hadn't stopped to catch some screenies. Aaaat the same time it takes me forever to kill then final enemy type so might also have been quite far. Screenie was worth it though, tiny as it was.
Tried out Vergil mode as well but. Like. He doesn't have guns. And he only has two new cutscenes (and they are played at the start),NO story cutscenes between missions and no unique missions. So it's just replaying the game without the two most enjoyable bits. So going to skip that bit. But all in all it was a fun game. Really frustrating at parts, but oh so satisfying getting past the frustrations. And Dante was a funny fellow. Story was fine too. Some nice twists. And many very cool cutscenes. So, happy I made it through. Then moved on to Devil May Cry 4. Looks really crisp and nice. Not digging that right bumper zooms in, since I use it for them screenies. So lots of awkward zoom ins. Also, why can I control the camera in cutscenes when I can only move it a few inches or so up and to the sides. Granted I can pretend there is an earthquake going on, so guess I've got that going for it. And maybe there is some more fun to be had with zoom in pressed while moving it around. But combat is fine. Got a move to pull the baddies to me, but need to figure out a way to pull me to them. But can finally pull off an air hike+slashes in the air. Could bat them up in DMC3 but could never manage to follow them to smack them around before they hit the ground again. Silliness has been toned down a little. At least no shirtless guy trying to eat pizza to start the game off with. Nope, shirt on and listening to a church concert. YES. Made it past Mission 2, so so far so good.

Damn those last couple of shots are bad ass. *** In Madden: Played one of the more intense games ever against the Bufallo Bills. Despite the IRL defensive success for the Pats that really didn't transfer over to the game world apparently. Anyways they just kept scoring and I found myself in the awkward position of being behind for the vast majority of the game. Things finally stabilized though. But I missed an extra point and then two straight two point conversions to start the game. They didn't have any trouble and mounted a 24 points on me in the half. Next to my...18 I think. Finally took a lead in the third quarter and given how the game was going I couldn't pussy foot around soI settled for the extra point and went up 25-24. Again they went back up on their next drive 32-25. I scored again to tie the game at 35...and then it went into the fourth quarter. The next drive in the fourth actually ended up being important, I scored once more to make it 39-32 and then on my NEXT drive I decided to go into clock killing mode, they didn't score, so I was still ahead. Fortunate favored the bold as I wentfor it well into my own territory on fourth down and picked it up. Several runs and I actually burst through with Michel for his second of the game. 46-32. THey went on and scored on their last play of the game, final score Patriots 46 Bills 39. Brady had a pretty excellent game overall. 40 for 47 with 444 yards 5 TDs and one interception. Michel had 26 carries, 108 yds, 2 TDs. The recieving duties was mostly split between White with 10 catches, 77 yards, and a TD and Edelman with 7 catches, 113 ish yards and a TD.

So, third time's (hopefully) the charm through the prologue. Glad I could skip the tutorials. Got a nice shot of the fortress. I wonder how long it's been since it looked this good? It was pretty run down in W1 already. Maybe 10 years before when Ciri was a kid it was in better shape?
Made it to White Orchard again, played more Gwent (and won), scraped together enough coin to buy the griffin decoction from the merchant we rescued from the griffin on the way into town. Picked up the notice board quests again. Decided to help out the blacksmith this time by finding the arsonist. Poor sod got hanged for his drunken stunt - yay for law and order? Still, it was hard to feel sorry for the guy.
Next Geralt headed out towards the haunted well. Found an old journal that told a sad tale, and blood all over the place. Jumped down the well to find a dead girl's bracelet, the thing which seems to be holding her there as a noonwraith. Once he's scrounged enough ameneria (?) to make a spectre oil, then he'll deal with the wraith. Maybe the local herbalist has some for sale? (if I can find her, that is - she isn't marked on the map).
On the way back from swimming in the well:
I haven't yet seen Roach stick her head in a flower patch looking for a snack. So far she's only gone after grass.

Devil May Cry 4. Made it to mission 12, which was a decent stopping point for plot reasons. Been doing fairly well combat wise but direction wise I'm useless. There were three levels which I ran like across all the maps because I didn't know what to do next. First was because I didn't realize I had to keep hitting the spinny things once the spokes came out to beat them back in, so I ran across the map like 5 times until caving in and using a walkthrough. Two was just a derp and I forgot the massive cutscene like 5 mins ago which showed that I was supposed to go in the opposite direction than the one I took. Third was because I got curious if there were goodies down the ledge, jumped down, realized it was the area I was in ages ago and now I had to trek all the way back since I saw no way of jumping back up. Then got stopped by three copies of my most hated enemies, the flying lobster men, and just, no. I give up. Kill me and please spawn me somewhere else. Luckily was spawned outside that area, but it murdered my final score. Been B and C-ing it but now it was a D. Also been having massive problems with the environment. Always misjudging jumps, having no idea how the ledges are sized and such. Made even harder with the fact that sometimes you drop down to the bottom, have to fight some useless mooks and have to climb all the way up again. Then you get so annoyed you can't aim, fall down again, rinse and repeat. On the other hand, I've been doing pretty well against the bosses. That is I've been clawing my way through on 1/10th of the health bar after munching through my Vital stars, but always managing in the first go. And I usually figure out the patterns to use on my own, so I get to feel a bit clever as well. So that's nice. And very much enjoying the story so far. Nice to have some people as well, instead of just demons. So to speak. Nero is also a delightful little punk so far. And other cast is amusing as well. And as annoying as the environments can be, they usually look really good. This game feels a bit more finicky than the others. Had one point where the controller and sound just buggered off, which was greeeeat at the start of an annoying fight. Also had the game have a runtime crash when taking screenshots during a cutscene. Except it was the final cutscene of the mission. AFTER the boss fight. I was livid. Then replayed the level and got a S rating in speed, so like, not the worst thing in the world. I'm blaming Steam Big Pictures for it, since it seems to happen when I'm screen shooting. And the zoom in toggle probably isn't helping. Also I lied and also played mission 13. I missed Helmbreaker so much Oh and Dante is cool as well. Do like how he keeps his style thing from the third game, but now you can switch whenever. Also pizza is back. So maybe someone will get shirtless? :3 Well. I guess the current big evil is practically naked. Even if he's got a Ken bottom. But yeah, having loads of fun.

One phenomenon I've noticed is that games which were primarily designed for consoles - and by that I mean mainly considering control with a gamepad - sort of break if you use a mouse.
Case in point: The Shuriken pistol when you tap the mouse button rapidly, turns into a minigun:
Amusing though.
