A short dip into building stuff in Sandrock, new game and sequel/midquel to My Time at Portia. The steps forward from the first game are evident, better graphics, better character models, lots of qol changes overall. The game is still in EA, so only one third of the story is awailable, many features are missing, the npc are still incomplete, but it was fun so far. And since now I have just to wait, I got my hands into VNs again. I played through my third route in Bustafellows, Scarecrow. The guy is the sweetest boy and I just want to give him a hug. To not be burned out by the fourth route, I started something new: Cupid Parasite is the most romantic pit of romcom cliché I've ever seen in gaming, and the most pastel colours my Switch screen have ever seen. It was worth it. Funny, if cliché, a joy for the ears (I think CupiPara have one of my favourite ost in a VN). The incipit: Cupid see that her arrows don't seem to bring together people anymore, and decide to go into the human world undercover as Lynette Mirror to bring together people as a relationship advisor for a matchmaking company, to prove that the gods intervention in human life is not necessary. She is than given the job to find a match for five hopeless clients of the company, the called Parasites. Five human disasters (with great abs). The romcom anime cliché are there, but is the first otome VN I've played without hight violent trauma involved if we think Ares falling in love with a vacuum robot thanks to our Cupid anger is not traumatic, of course , a relaxing comfort food of a romantic story, fun and adorable. Refreshing, since all otome VNs I've played had always some very bloody scenes (hey, Bustafellows felt very light to me and still have killing, shooting, and very bloody scenes). The next VNI'm going to play is Cafè Enchante, with Kotone inheriting her recently passed away grandfather Cafè just to discover that he had clients from the non human worlds. The first minutes have presented an angel, a fire demon(?) a sort of demon lord(?) and a headless knight(!). I'm gonna jump the headless knight just so I can say that I have a headless knight in my gaming romance curriculum! (plus his voice is sexy)

Yeah that was the problem I didn't have all the money I needed to byu all the books and stuff that I need so it's one of those games I think to make thimngs work you absolutely have to do evreything I think I missed a fai rfew things in Chapter 1 an dagain in Chapte r2 and I think i tjus tfell apart as I'm used to RPG's allowing yo ut odrop certain htings. Still it's anothe rlesson learned for attemp tnumbe r3 when I do it. Good news is I hink I upgraded myself right for the mos tpart as I was finding combat easier . I was just going through potions faste rthan I could make them. I think largel ydue t othe number of enemies I was facing in the swqamp area in Chapter 2. But as yo usa yjus tneede to ge tal the books reading them and picking up every plant an dstuff I find. Als ohoping I hav eenoug hmoney to ge tit all which will require me t oplay a ton o fdice poker hoping I win moe roften tha I lose as I know alo tof the book sdo cost a lot of mone yas most of them cost 400 orens a pop. I do plan to try again though atm I don' t know when. It'll likel ybe afte rthe October games an dsuc hcome out though as I've uninstalled them fo rnow t omake room for the nex tgames I want to play At first I had trouble buying books. But like dazk said do every side quest and you will be able to buy all necessary books. Geralt was rich by chapter 3. Also every time you kill a Salamandra loot their Salamandra pins. I think it chapter 3 you can sell them in bulk for a nice price. Yeah I was picking up their pins a sI ha da feeling I'd ge ta lot out of them given the Leuvaarden quest. I tcretasinl yfeels like in orde rt ocomplete these Wither games you do need t obe a completionist. Thankfully most RPG's are at leas ta little bit forgiving. Stil I'll remembe rfor when I come back to try again.

So at least with TW3 you can relax a bit. The problem is that most of the side quests are well written so it makes you want to do them. But I forgot to say that I am a completionist. So I got to see and do everything.

sjsharp2010 I did the same thing the first and only time I played Dragon Age: Inquisition that game was completionists nightmare. So many side quests and some were tedious. Where I stopped playing was when I had to bring a golden halla to some elves. It took me hours to try to bring it and in the end I never completed it. When I think of DAI I always remember that quest that got away.

Played a bit further in Greedfall last night. Finished off the quests to find Jonas, the cabin boy. Didn't need violence, lies or charm, just told the father the facts. Met the The'le'me ambassador and agreed to help with his heretic problem. Only it turns out, they weren't so much 'heretics' as 'historians that had uncovered the truth'. De Sardet has responsibilities to the Congregation and their allies, but a conscience as well. And, from me, a deep dislike of religion in general. So let them run, hopefully with the help of the smuggler. Then met the Bridge Alliance ambassador and agreed to help with the fraudulent alchemist. This one was also fairly gray in nature. Turns out he was chased out of the Alliance for questioning the brutal methods of research used to find a cure for the malichor. Forced human experimentation isn't really morally defensible. Trouble this guy had was that he continued his own research, testing on people as well. The only difference was they weren't 'forced', they were tricked. Which doesn't really seem a whole lot better, to be honest. He was arrested, but the lines spoken meeting with the ambassador afterwards indicated that he was just left in the tavern, with an angry mob ensuring he didn't go anywhere. After that, it was off to the docks. But of course the giant creature the Alliance had captured broke free. Why de Sardet had to fight it on her own, when Kurt was there...I have no idea, but it was the first combat encounter without Kurt blocking the enemy and generating aggro, so I died a handful of times, before I worked out dodge and Stasis de Sardet was pretty fucking cold when she shot the thing at the end, though. I don't know how many giant twig monsters she's seen in her life, but it can't be so many that they're less interesting than putting down a rabid dog. On to Teer Fradee - so far have met a few of the movers and shakers in New Serene and helped the quartermaster and Kurt with the cargo issue. Weapons? I feel like that is something the guard could be open about shipping...? Something to keep in mind. Racism aplenty, and people being people with regards to the indigenous people of the island, so will try and sort that out before venturing too far. Siora - she's adorable.

It must only be an option if you solve the Bridge Alliance quest first (and possibly only on good terms, or what he thinks are good terms) but you can ask the BA ambassador to offer them sanctuary from Theleme.
Where I stopped playing was when I had to bring a golden halla to some elves. It took me hours to try to bring it and in the end I never completed it.
I know a lot of folks have problems herding the halla but except for a couple times where it went astray, I've been able to do it rather quickly. Maybe you are getting too close? I would put the difficulty on par with herding the Pellar's goat in TW3, except without the bear or Geralt's funny dialogue.

Fallout 4Lots of things today. I officially joined the Railroad group after I went to fetch something from their old HQ with Deacon. I'm now known as the Whisper. I also helped deliver a Synth to a safehouse. They said "only raiders"...but there was some Super Mutants on the trip too. While doing the delivery, I found the place that is the "caravan hometown" I guess. Lots of merchants there anyway. But I was broke and my trash isn't worth much. Now I'm really going after the detective and I followed his trail to Vault 114. But there was a lots of assassins before I got there. Dead assassins.

CK 3 Things are pretty quiet. Amazing. 😀 Urraca's husband introduce a claimant to a French county. She asks for Urraca II's help to a county she has claim to. She's sterile but I find it amazing she does have an heir, her daughter. Also born with the trait sterile. Wait a minute! Doesn't sterile means unable to bear children? Barren? It's generally taken as completely unable to have kids but for this game, it's apparently different. Sterile meant the chances of having kids is drastically reduced compared to the trait fecund where the character is 100% guaranteed to have kids. Just for the heck of it, I decided to take on this request. France is pretty huge but their military forces is abysmal. It's not a question of defeating them, it's a question of reducing the duration of the conflict. The longer it drags, the drain on the treasury will be heavier. I chose to have the troops sail to Normandy and head for the French capital from there. Meanwhile, I shore up the Castile borders with the remaining troops, keeping an eye out for French troops. The French capital was taken. Most annoyingly, the French troops didn't show. The monarch of a nation in defense or attack will always lead the troops. If the clash between monarchs happen earlier, chances are the enemy monarch or their family members can be taken prisoner. If the enemy monarch is defeated in battle, the duration of the conflict is cut in half. As it is, the French troops didn't show for months! Meanwhile, the Castile troops took one county after another. It's tiny patchworks of cities around the French capital. Annoying. After several months, the French king finally turned up with more troops than expected. I guess he was missing because he was borrowing troops from somewhere. Irregardless, what he had managed to scrounge up couldn't hold against the Castile troops. He was trounced. His family and heir were captured. That effectively ended French resistance. He conceded defeat and the French claimant of the county got what she wants except that now, she swears fealty to Urraca II so Castile has a county smacked in the middle of France. 😁

I almost fell off my chair. You are right though in DAI the side quests can be quite tedious whereas the side quests in TW3 some of them are exceptional and the worst are okay.

Where I stopped playing was when I had to bring a golden halla to some elves. It took me hours to try to bring it and in the end I never completed it. I didn't have any problems with the herding in all my DAI PTs because I took it slow, on foot, and kept an eye on where the halla was going. I maintained an even distance, always behind it. If it stopped moving, I stopped too then inched forward carefully to prod it towards the direction I wanted.

I think if the Halla goes a certain way it used to get stuck for me on some rocks, to the right maybe. But same as you the first few times I tried it I kept getting to close to the damn thing and it would run away. Did Druffy the damn Druffalo yesterday that's a test of patience in itself, what is it with Dev's making you herd animals or having to follow NPC's that get stuck or walk to damn slow!!!!! Oh well I still have the Hella quest to look forward to this PT - Yippee.

melbella did you get your new PC set up yet?
Nope. It's a weekend project for sure. Still not sure if I want to set it up at this desk (and move this PC to the other desk) or set the new one up at the other desk and hope the wifi works well enough to dl ginormous game files.

So yesterday pretty much finished the Hinterlands including the Dragon which highlighted how I have become accustomed to playing with non-controllable squad mates. It took me a while to remember I could even do it, oh that's right I can hit control and tell them what to do. Anyway tried to put it into practice with the Dragon and did an OK job of it but for the most part I am just going to let them decide for themselves. Yes I am just lazy. Recruited Blackwall and took him Sara and Cassandra for most of the time, I rarely used to use Blackwall in my other PT's so enjoyed hearing some new dialogue/banter especially between him and Sara. Need to head to Redcliffe next I think, I have so forgotten what order to do things I accidentally started to do Champions of The Just yesterday- Oooops, reload. Then to the Storm Coast after that to find an Iron Bull. When you get to Skyhold do you get to choose colours for your armour or am I just remembering/hoping that's the case. So FRAPS for some reason starts working but then stops, I am assuming it is a DAI thing because I do not remember having this problem using Origin with any other game of late. Anyway no trophy shot of the Dragon. Here is the look I have finally settled on for Gawain's mage armour, not a fan of the white leather but best stats. Blackwall telling it how it is.

It's generally taken as completely unable to have kids but for this game, it's apparently different. Sterile meant the chances of having kids is drastically reduced compared to the trait fecund where the character is 100% guaranteed to have kids. One time, when I had two sons, either of whom would make awesome heirs, I arranged for my wife to have an "accident", and married the well past child bearing duchess of a neighbouring kingdom. No surprise 'spares' and a healthy alliance for a decade or so while my ruler ended his days.
