SWTORAriet'ta adventures on Coruscant continue. I actually went through the dialogue path with the Gands. No force persuade shortcuts for once (in like 10 Consulars). You actually learn more things doing it that way. I guess I'm going to avoid force persuade on this toon and play the diplomacy dialogue game instead. I failed with Gumbo thought. It seems telling him to not use violence wasn't the right words for him to not use violence. Half of Coruscant left to do. I'm also trying to not skip dialogues, but it's basically an habits by now. I played through this so many times, but I think it "helps" me getting bored. playing human or cyborg is a bit boring imo. I originally wrote boring instead of common for human/Cyborg. I'm glad someone else agree.

Hogwarts LegacyThe Caretaker's Lunar LamentIts really weird how this game calls back to some tropes from the classic HP games...and movies...during some segments and then totally ignores them pretty much the rest of the time. Sure they wanted to have their open world cake and eat it to so its perfectly understandable why this happened but it still gives one a huge case of logical whiplash and 'if not then, why now, if now why then?'...sort of a thing if that makes sense. I must say I think this thing is kind of well designed though from an AI perspective, at least I think this might be the case...its possible this is part of a random patrol. But I opened one of those revealing doors and didn't get a reaction from the Prefect standing there so I was like 'haha stupid dumb lore breaking AI'...but then he was standing right there at the end when I exited and Honor got caught! So yeah if this was the AI noticing a noice and investigating and the game taking no prisoners. Well done. The rest of the quest was a lot like this it was actually very challenging getting through all the teachers and prefects especially in their bathroom. And there was some lore...which I kind of forgot if any of it was interesting to share already. But again considering this isn't a semi regular worry for the game and just in these segments it does add a sense of frustration to the proceedings. I mean the prefects literally all dissapear once you complete the quest and I went into the library wing later at night and nothing was there to disturb Honor's questing there either. From there I think I am finally starting to 'settle into' the game. There is more side questing going on and more exploring of the world and more mechanics opening up means more to do and fiddle around with both in good ways and the grindy ways. As I was commenting to wifey the economy in this game is a little weird since you only have Galleons to spend and since even basic potions can cost hundreds of the suckers. Still, yeah, lots to do now and taking the time to do some more of the side quests so I feel less like I am about to bowl over the rest of the story. Though since so much of this game does, smartly, focus on the student experience in the game and so much of this game, wisely, is divided into little main quests the temptation is to do these main quests a lot more which then progresses the story more and that percentage that the PS5 lets you know that you have completed on the story. Its brilliant GP design though especially for this game and its something I have been wanting even big RPGs to do, not every main quest has to be an hour long sprawling epic. From the settling in part of the game though getting more used to the combat in some ways and continuing to experiment. While I am not entirely confident in which spell colors break which spell shields I have now confirmed that it is different colors, and not the same, which do break enemy shields so something to keep in mind and something I was getting better at using regular magic to break those shields and using it more often. Also getting more into a habbit of using Protego/ Stupefy at least in this play session and using it greater effect and overall developping tactics with all of these spells, combos, and the like. Like even if its a attack I am confident I can block even if its on my 'blind side' then I still dodge out of the way in order to escape because I don't want to get blinded, but if I know who I'm attacking or who is attacking me then I am getting more into the mindset of using protego, so I think this game has finally broken my habbit of all dodging all the time (bring on Dragon Age). The biggest surprise in today's combat encounters though is last time I ran into a group of level 20 trolls that I decided to take on with like...I think level 18 or something Honor? Very tough fights but I kind of got through them a little. But the troll kept forcing me back, I was going through health potions left and right, and when I advanced again I noticed that the troll before me had a full health bar...so naturally I assumed the game reset the combat encounter which can happen in some OW games when you get too far away from where the enemy is 'supposed to be'. Down to two health potions I decided to retreat. Well today I actually discovered this was not the case and must have been another troll because I ran into a troll with a half health bar so I am presuming that this was the one I actually got down yesterday though it did occur to me that maybe the goblins were fighting it...but given the story that does not make sense. Still having trouble coming up with a consistent RP for Honor and not just what *I* would do as a player, I feel. Granted this might help long term because when I hopefully get around to playing this game again with a proper understanding of its systems and pacing I can take more advantage of said systems. That is unless I play it so far into the future that I forget this stuff. But I am thinking of being either a sketch Slytherin or a 'brave' but also domineering and sleazy Gryfindor. Alohamora meanwhile has gone from frustratingly complext to frustratingly simple. Wifey did help me figure it out and I realized it on my own to. The trouble is that its so easy, at least the level one locks, that it just seems like the game's one element of grind for the sake of padding out the run time. Alohamora does not work that way or is not described that way in books or movie as far as I know and again its so easy, yet ocassionally time consuming, that this was a mini game feature that should not, IMO, have been in the game and should have just worked like the movies...automatically. Speking of Sleazy Slytherine's. Beast classSo I finally met Poppy, a Hippogriff, and have some understanding of the promised beast mechanic. Though it is a little ironic, given the proceedings, that here you are saving the world from poachers and the like...but you are also still harvesting the resources for these beasts for your own ends. Sure you are doing it while giving them food and scritches and not pain but even Professor Howan seemed to regard the beasts as little more then...beasts.
And what is it with this game and Slytherin? The house dynamics in general are kind of cool and deep and Sebastian while fitting the Slytherin mold does have some complexity to him. But every other Slytherin we've met comes off as mecha mustache twirling dicks. Trying to pull the whiskers off that one thing, hello Draco Malfoy. ALSO WHY THE HECK DID THE PROFESSOR NOT INTERVENE FORCING US TO ONLY TO PUNISH US LATER UGH.
Poppy though is like Luna, except animals. *thumbs up*

^ That's why I played Hogwarts Legacy on easy. No time wasted figuring out the LP mechanism. On easy, it's an auto bypass.
LP causes the most frustration in games that have them, imo. I see one in a game, I'll immediately look for a way to cheat on the LP. If there isn't and there's an option to smash the chest, I'll do it.
I generally play games on easy settings because I feel it's pointless to frustrate myself in the first PT which will take out the fun / enjoyment. If I like the combat very much, then I'll go for higher difficulties which I did for MET, AC Odyssey and Horizon Zero Dawn. The last which I finished a ultra hard PT run.

HZDs combat frustrated me no end lol.

Venetica
Decided to play retro games after ST Elite Force I and II.
Venetica is a 2009 RPG made by a small German company called Deck13. I have it in my GOG library for quite some time but didn't play it. It's fully voiced. The dialogues are ok, not much nuances. Very straight forward and sometimes, awkward. Graphics is backward but ok, nothing to scream at.
Protag is Scarlett, an orphan who was brought in a village. Her lover, Benedict, was to join some military force and he was trying to persuade her to join him. Before they could finish their conversation, the village was attacked and Benedict was killed (funniest and ridiculous kill ever. It would have been better if he was dressed in plain leather, not armour with a fancy cloak), saving her. The villagers fought off the assassins.
Scarlett woke up the next morning to be told bluntly by her foster mom, I think, to leave because the target was her. The next villager she met also told her to leave. Ok, that's a very clear loud message. The blacksmith helped by altering his daughter's clothes for her. He also gave her a quest.
I picked up another quest from a trader and one from a villager who said her half brother was chasing after the assassins to kill them. At the edge of the village, one villager told her she was responsible for the deaths and his pal stuck his sword into Scarlett from behind. However, she did not die and both villagers were scared.
Here, I was given a choice. I can let them off or kill them. I chose to let them off. I guess there are going to be choices to make along the journey and may influence the ending.
Combat is basic so far. Just click and she swings left and right. She can dodge roll but blocking etc has to be learned. There is magic as well but since I'm starting, she doesn't have any. There's also a third sort of magic but I'm not sure what it is. I'll find out along the way.
Oh yes, this game is retro so no jumping either. It has that Fable feel to it.

I'm sorry about the lost files. I don't know, if I could play the same story again so soon. Thanks...I felt really bad (it was a stupid mistake)
Same here, I'm not sure yet which class I'm going to pick as the new one...guess I'll have to think on that a bit I really want to revisit my first class (Smuggler) but not really sure what race to play
Smuggler is my favorite class story.

Classic Smuggler: Twi'lek Purrdy Smuggler: Cathar Snazzy Smuggler: Mirialan, Zabrak or Togruta Untrustworthy Smuggler: unlocked Imperial races Common Smuggler: Human or Cyborg And fylimar wondering if they could play the same story again while starting a new Hogwarts Legacy character already... I have each class in SWTOR at least 3 times, so I'm not against playing the same story a few times. I think, I played through Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines at least 20 times. I just don't know, if I had it in me to leave an unfinished playthrough and start anew, especially, if I like that character.

I was reading the SWTOR in-game chat last night and someone described the Smuggler story as " only slightly brighter than the Inquisitor, but same kind of falling upward while walking into every traps blindly and succeeding by shear luck". It's an accurate description of the Smuggler. And since reading that I'm still tempted to make a new one which was my plan before going Consular again. I sometimes wish the content was shorter to do, so I could replay stuff a lot more like in GW2. Too many enemies to kill in SWTOR.

AC Unity
Was replaying Coop missions to get rest of the gear. When I played first time I played in solo mode to get al sync points and I because I thought nobody plays anymore. Accidentally I chosen play instead of solo play and I found the game, then next game and next game. Damn, coop is fun in this game, even with randoms.

playing human or cyborg is a bit boring imo. I originally wrote boring instead of common for human/Cyborg. I'm glad someone else agree. I mean, there's so many games where you're already human, so when the opportunity arises I like playing other races (that said, I do love playing human on some of my characters, like my main Warden who's an Amell) as for cyborg, they're basically humans with fancy looking hardware welded to their faces (no offense Theron) Thanks...I felt really bad (it was a stupid mistake)

Smuggler is my favorite class story. Same, I initially wanted to pick Smuggler for my YouTube playthrough anyway, but when I found out how many Alliance allert characters Consulars can get (46) I thought "let's use a Consular instead" But Star Wars is so much more then a story about Jedi vs. Sith, and I found it hilarious how my Smuggler mowed her way through everything Force related with a gun I mean, it makes no sense for them to fight Arcann or Vaylin with a blaster, but it's so hilarious (though you can wave that away with the Emperor in your brain at the time), plus I love nailing Malgus with a non force toon
But as I said...still need to decide on a race

I found it hilarious how my Smuggler mowed her way through everything Force related with a gun + punches, kicks and a shotgun. I personally don't like how goofy Scrapper looks, but it's a thing you can do. And now I really want to make a new Smuggler...and yes, race is a hard choice.

I was thinking of going Operative for my Smuggler Then you'll be using a lots of knives and poisons instead...which is just as hilarious.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint
Started off by doing the rest of Souls in Rest. My plan was to essentially go right down the middle of where the AO was and get to it that way. On the way though we were intercepted and got into a bit of a running fire fight with a Sentinel Vehicle patrol. Drove to a homestead and ambushed them there. From there did the base with one of my favorite mis namings...Edglord South. A little bunker complex in the middle of nowhere. The way things broke down I was tempted to ghost them and just do the objectives and leave, we had the option but wifey wanted to go on a slaughter spree.
Up next after that forgot that the quest evolved right into another one 'For Honor'. With no real intel on a location other then 'gather intel in Liberty'. Decided to hit one of my favorite bases in the game, Jace Skell Dam. Just this huge structure with high ground and large sight lines all around, sniper's paradise. Got a little freaking unlucky though...twice. First the initial scouting of the base an Azrael showed up and since I was in the middle of a steal grate there was no way I could hide in time. 'what the fuck?' I went. "what the fuck" Nomad said. Fortunatley just a single helicopter showed up and not the entire gates of hell. Then when we were sniping since I 'went loud' because of the distance involved people behind us heard and I got killed...but respawned and took out the drone that got me with an armor piercing round and was able to continue on. Got into a bit of a sniping compeition with my wife here which was one of the whole points of the excercise. Maybe the best sniping base in the game, that and that one port. Anyways though her record stood at 492 meters at the time so I hit a 540, then a 607. She reacted with half mock outrage and I reacted with 3/4 mock triumph...it didn't last long as she then hit a 640. Which as we both discussed here anything over 500 is impressive since the game hsa issues rendering bad guys at about that distance. So all impressive and we were quite proud of ourselves. She nailed a com guy, a couple of heavies, and we took the time to just start clearing it out. I did have the bright idea to move around the base though because there were a bunch of them on the other side literally out of reach, buildings in the way, rendering problems. This almost backfired since I was now MUCH closer to the enemy and while I put my supressor back on they were still homing in on my position because of the shots. So naturally I half panicked and started missing a lot more, which did frustrate and deflate me...500 + meter shots no problem, 200, pishaw. Anyways though while I was having issues I still was able to clear out pretty much everyone who was coming after me without taking too many shots if any. Wifey started pushing from the other end to assist but again all she had to take out was one final heavy by the time she reached me.
Hogwarts Legacy
So I confirmed that the 'Vietnam effect' is alive and well in this game. I ended up going back through areas that I had already been to see enemies respawned...though I don't know if its all areas yet or just these specific areas since I suspect they MIGHT be story areas that I will get to. Hell I even got into a boss fight while doing random exploring/ trying to complete Proffessor Garlicks assignment. Though for these reasons this might be the *heavy sarcasm* best use of the trope. If they are story areas then it does make sense for the enemies to repopulate to ensure you have something to do AND given the nature of the assignments well it ensures you will be able to actually DO said assignments. lol. Still think its overall mostly horrible game design but its one of those open world tropes that is unlikely to go away so as long as I don't have to keep on fighting over the same hill fourteen times...I'll be good...ish.
Other big combat note is I did the quest for that one lady who thought her hubby was onto something when he said a statue was a part of a puzzle. So really simple puzzles...not solved by adults...solved by a...what 16 year old? Bit of a trope in this game. Of course the game also tells you directly what you need to do sometimes and Honor does drop her hints to so maybe I'm giving myself far too much credit...but it is still amusing. Still it led to a battle arena that gave me God of War vibes and man I have no idea how I am going to do it. Though to my credit I got to the final wave on my first try but yikes. It throws a LOT at you. And this also led to my fits with the Garlick assignment. Got all three plants, used them all in here, but since I failed in the final wave it doesen't save your progress and it didn't count. At least I got my eight wiggenweld's back. Then when I was out exploring I did what should have met the requirements and I guess since I cast spells in between it it didn't count and it used up all my plants so I had to go back to the RoR. Finally got it on the third attempt.
Next bits to wrap up did the Herbology Corridor, the basement of Honeydukes for Gareth, and Imelda Reyes's broom challenge. I lost by 2 seconds when I missed one ring. Ugh. I get the feeling from some of the stuff I have seen online that Imelda isn't well liked...and sure snooty Slytherine...but she was actually kind of pleasent this time around, even before I lost to her.

Yeah the Battle arena's are basically the Hogwart's legacy equivalent of the Arma Arena in ME3's Citadel DLC really. It's jus ta means t ohelp yo ulebve lup an dge ta little more combat practice in tbh. I've been using them a bit ove rthe last coupl eo fdays in orde rt opus hmyself up the las tcouple o flevels I need t obe in orde rt ounloc kthe final quest. I'm hoping t ospread th eworkload ou tand d othem whils tworkin gthroug hth eothe rquests like wit hSebastian and Popp yand all that next time s oI don' thave tha theadache of rtyin gt ofind stuff t od oa tthe last moment to unloc kthe last quest =. To be fair though I didn't know quests were locked unti lyou hi t the appropriate leve lwhic hwas wha tlef tm escrambling a bit. Given I thought I coul dd oi tgiven I was only a couple of levels dow nand in most games yo ucan as games normally let you whereas Hogwarts doesn't.

SWTOR
My Consular found a cure for what was ailing her Master and she's now off to the stars. Also, she graduated. She's a Jedi now!
I also made a Zabrak Lady smug-gler. I actually saw an outfit setup on Tor Fashion that just looked awesome so I had to do it (that character wasn't a Zabrak thought). She's still on Ord Mantell trying to find her ship and the thief.

I reinstalled SWTOR today and am working up the nerve to continue my Sith Warrior playthrough that I began 4 years ago. I've been playing him off and on for the past 4 years and every time I do something evil I feel bad and stop playing. My last playthrough last year my Sith Pureblood Sith Warrior killed everyone Jaesa loves including her parents. I walked around my ship last night and Jaesa wants to meet me. Vette (who I like and like to thing she is Mission Vao's descendent) got in contact with her old gang in Nar Shaddaa. If I do decide to play I will head there first after upgrading my gear.
