More Asian Hawke. Now, I don't want to spam too much of her on this thread, but what I really want to talk about is the evolution of her eyes and brows. Take a look: Finally! I got her Asian eye-color to look correctly using "LOTC s Default Eye Texture for DA2". I really liked this one. Look at how cute she looks with her big bubbly eyes sparkling like that. Here's another one from Big Bubbly Eyes: But the thing is, I wanted my Hawke to look badass, not be some cute gal strolling Beverly Hills. So I adjusted her brows to look more fearsome... with unsatisfying results: There was actually one more screenshot of her I forgot to capture during the "Nice Crime You Have Around Here" conversation with Merrill. Her eyes, or rather, brows, looked especially inappropriate during that conversation because of how angry/grumpy she looked, even though she was smiling cheerfully at Merrill. I also initially didn't like her eyeliner (that I got from the "Bidelles Cosmetics 2" mod), because it kinda made her look like a clown with make-up on (why would female warriors of old put on make-up anyway?). The problem was that the brow customization options were really limited. When you enter the character generation screen, you get to select a list of presets for the Hawke you want, right? Well, I wanted an Asian-looking Hawke, like I said, but unfortunately, the only Asian-looking one had her brows arched downwards in a grumpy manner. Each preset has its own style of brows and eyes, so I don't have a lot of options unless I use a different preset, and thus I'm stuck with this set of brows: There were presets with thinner, more feminine brows, but when I tried using them, they made my Hawke look more American than she already looks right now. So, once again, I readjusted Hawke's brows to look thinner and have a less "angry" curve. I initially didn't like these brows because they look like pencil drawn eyebrows, rather unnatural IMO: Take a look at that sexy bald Fenris while at it. No more edgy-emo hair! Anyway, I think I've settled on the brows I want... for now. It's a good balance between someone who looks like you can take seriously, and someone who still looks likes she's a fun-loving gal who uses humor to deflect whatever angst she might have. I also kept the eyeliner because I realized how important it is in making her eyes look sharper. I tried to remove the eye-liner, and her expression turned incredibly dull, and not the fierce badass Hawke I was going for. This was the same mage who took down the Qunari with a magic wand in the "Destiny" trailer, after all. (just imagine it was a female Hawke in that trailer; seriously, even Mass Effect had a FemShep version of their cinematic trailer ) And that concludes the evolution-chart of Hawke's ever-changing brows for now. It's not surprising that a woman's brows can really shape the way she expresses herself. While I'm at it, might as well post some statistics about my Hawke. You don't even know her name, after all: Maximus Hawke (went with a more masculine name because I wanted a tomboy) Personality: Sarcastic, with a touch of aggression. She uses jokes to deflect personal questions (you know her kind; cliched but I like it), but gets aggressive sometimes when things hit too close to home (especially if someone threatens mages in general). Spec: Blood Mage (in secret), maybe with Spirit Healer later on Romance: Initially light-flirting with Anders... but along came Fenris. Expect a love triangle between the light (Anders) and dark (Fenris). Rivalry: Carver. The Templar is definitely a rival. And of course, Fenris, for that hot rivalmance romance scene. Everyone else: Friendship. Especially Merrill, like a replacement little sister for Maximus. On the flip-side, Aveline is like a big sister to her.

I would not take hair off Fenris because it's the only thing that somewhat obscures the odd way his swan neck bends in multiple conversations.
I do like your Hawke though. Making Asian protagonists is really hard in all the DA games. I should try the paint swath through the nose on mine, because the bright red face paint I want like in SWTOR are unavailable in DA2. All the tattoos are way too pale.

Making Asian protagonists is really hard in all the DA games. Oh yeah, definitely. I recently found out that there's an Asian-face mod for female Wardens in Origins that you could take a look. Personally, this was the first time I bothered to take up an Asian anything in any game (despite being one myself ). I think it's generally difficult to make Asian protagonists in a lot of games, not just DA, due to the game developers' target demographic being Americans, not Asians.

I would, if I played Origins again I am a Caucasian, and that's why when I play humans, I normally chose either Asian or Black characters. They feel more attractive to me and way less boring. It has been a struggle in every game, including, mind-bogglingly, a Korean-made Blade and Soul I hope this does not offend anyone (hides)

I want to say I feel the same, but to be honest, I have to agree that I do find Asians to be more attractive, but I always thought that was because I lived my whole life among them and thus accommodated to their appeal. That said, I do feel a similar sentiment towards playing non-humans in RPGs. I'm already a human; why would I want to roleplay another human? :poker: Elves are okay, but if you consider only their appearance alone, they're humans with knife-ears. Probably one of the reasons I went with a dwarf Warden.

Probably one of the reasons I went with a dwarf Warden. Well, Hawke can only be a Human, so I'm playing a couple of best attempts at Asians, and an Arabic/Mediterranean. It doesn't hurt that darker complexions and hair render better in all video-games. In Inquisition, I play Qunari, because I love giant races while I don't like the loli races. I wanted to play a Dwarf in origins, but I wanted to play a mage more, so elf it was. Elves were not bad in Origins.

In Inquisition, I play Qunari Holy cow! Damn, now I'm in a dilemma, because I really want to play an elf in Inquisition (especially when I don't play elves often in Origins, if at all). But there's an option to play Qunari? It's hard to pass that up... Ugh. Maybe in a replay.

Upon entering the Hawke estate for the first time, I stumbled onto something unexpected: She. Looks. Beautiful. I would marry her if I could, but that's getting into weeaboo territory... This is a custom-made robe from the "DA2 Redesigned" mod, and I love it. It looks like a wedding dress! Totally much more elegant than the default red robe Hawke had IMO. I think one reason it looks as good one her was because of the contrast between the pale white fabric against her dark skin, making her radiate more than if she had blended into the textile with pale skin.

You might actually end up enjoying the crafting aspect of Inquisition if you ever get the game, unless I am confusing you with someone else who did not try it yet. It has all the fabrics and coloring agents collection stuff to craft your own gear, and fabric textures look better than anything else in that variant of the forstbyte.

I swear, by the time I finish the game, I might end up liking how she looks. Here is after at least 6th or so re-edit, Blaze Hawke. I guess, I am just not into how the females look in this game.

I am just not into how the females look in this game. Same. I had to rely on a lot of cosmetic mods to make Maximus look as good as she is. The choice of skin tone is limited, so I didn't have the tanned skin I wanted. The list of eyes look weird, like bug-eyes. The little amount of eyebrows to choose from is awful. I'm surprised it doesn't take a blood sacrifice to make a custom-Hawke look good. Also, due to my reliance on mods, I ended up screwing the "chargenmorphcfg.xml" file, so I could no longer re-edit Maxie without starting entirely from scratch. Lucky that I've finally settled on a look I wanted during my last edit (after 6 or 7 times too). Still frustrating though that I can't make further corrections. Ugh, can't wait to get to Inquisition where the customization options are hopefully more flexible.

It is very flexible, but I am not a fan of how characters look in Inquisition. They are shiny and hair/eyelashes are horrible. Lots of people do love it though.

Inquisition's cc is good, if you don't care about, that the female and male, elf, dwarf and human characters have same hair styles (mostly bald), and these are shit. Qunari characters have different styles, but they are even worse, if I could say that. And I like better the DA2 face expressions. In Inquisition these looks ridiculous some times.

Ugh, can't wait to get to Inquisition where the customization options are hopefully more flexible. It really depends on what you like. You can make really good characters (and really, really hideous as well), but personally I'm not the biggest fan of DAI's CC (I know I'm in minority here). The way some options are presented makes it really annoying to recreate characters. Plus, one wrong move and you might screw the option you thought you got right At least now there's Black Emporium to correct your mistakes... time before that, well... we don't talk about it.

Well, the reason I had any confidence in DAI's CC at all was because I merely played the trial for less than an hour, halfheartedly putting together a female elf character and she still looked decent... at least for the little amount of time I played the game anyway, so who knows what she might've looked like later on? Oh well. If she does look bad, so be it. To be honest, I hated Queen Anora's new appearance when I saw her. She looked like a hag, if you don't mind me saying. Can't believe I once wanted to sleep with her...

I just looted the Robe of the Champion off a high dragon... and damn, not only is its bonus useless for my blood mage (+50 mana), especially compared to Aldernon's Vestments that provides more armor and bonus damage to all my elemental spells (fire and ice), it also looks kinda... weird. I wouldn't say "ugly" per se, because the only off-putting thing about the robe is the really weird book-like carapace sticking out of her chest: Like seriously, what is that supposed to be? A book-holder? Sarcastic Hawke ain't much of a bookworm, you know? And not all mages are generic scholars either. Edit: Oops. Realized I posted in the wrong thread. Oh well - still "showing" my Hawke per se, I guess.

Ruling a country ( with the Warden ) tires you out, you know Stress, lack of time for good meals, and maybe Warden isn't a good lover, those things make you look older. I find it weird, for instance, that Leliana doesn't look older at all. Nor Alistair, in fact. Morrigan probably uses some dark magic to prolong her youth so I can accept her youthful looks. I think I'll try to make a credible-looking older Hawke the next time I play DAI.

Actually, just to clear something up because of my previously shallow remark, I don't mind characters that look older in such games, particularly because everyone would look like some stellar diva from Beverly Hills. I might try my hand at an older protagonist in the future. Most of the time, I just went for the generic "dashing young hothead", so it would be a refreshing experience.

Hawke's ~25 at the beginning, this is clear. (But 25 is a good age, someone looks as a teen, someone much older looking.) He's a middle solution: In the Inquisition you have more flexibility in this issue: the Inquisitor 18–45, your choice.
