I want to thank Deerber right here, sincerely and without sarcasm(I know, I know... banish the thought!). He may have been a bit of a pain in the ass in the old forums. Hell, he may still be one on these boards, I just haven't gotten around to see much of it yet But, if it weren't for him, I'd never got to know the greatness that is Claymore. At this point, I can honestly say I consider myself a fanboy. But still, I weren't always one. Yet, Deerber has made me try it... on asari adept, huntress, GI, SI and many, many others. Soon, I've learned to love The High Lord. Took me a lot of time to be good with it(still not sure if I am, after all the practice), but I eventually got there. Even though my asari adept has been using Wraith a lot as of late(and she loves it!), she will always have a soft spot for Claymore. And the drellgod will have it prized from his cold, dead reptilian hands(which is, never!). It's a great gun. It's not the most effective, I'll admit that freely. But nothing... absolutely NOTHING... overcomes it's sheer badassesnes. So yeah, thank you Deerber, for showing me the light. Still waiting for reply to that PM, btw

It's a fantastic weapon, though I had number of false starts before it clicked for me. The single-shot weapons have a je ne sais quoi about them; that chance for One Big Hit. And the BOOM! Unlike many here, I don't find it a good fit for any character, I have specific requirements: - the character must not care about cooldowns
- I can't reliably aim at mook-sized things that are moving, and can't afford to waste shots with a single-shot gun, so the character must have a stagger power, preferably hitscan
- the character must have a reload cancel on the triangle button because that's what my fingers are trained to do.
QFI makes it sing for me. I've had good results on the Huntress as well, though it didn't feel right, I prefer the Crusader on her. (I can't think why I wouldn't enjoy it on the TGI, actually. Suboptimal, sure, but so is running a shotgun on an infiltrator with a sniper-boosting cloak and people don't complain about that!)

Crimson Vanguard and Lord Feneckus demanded Claymore. It was a painful purification, but I emerged stronger for it and with my eyes fully opened.
That satisfaction of Claymore, is second to none in this game. I do not worship anything, but I revere Claymore.

This thread, guys... It is so beautiful. It stole all my likes and it's almost making me a bit emotional. It's so beautiful to have something we appreciate so deeply all together! Thank you! The stupidest combo I have ever seen in this game is the claymore GI....that fuggin thing has 1 trillion DPS. 3 shots to kill a gold atlas..... Can also OSK Gold Brutes (if you hit it just right) and Ravagers. Sorry pal, I don't think the GI can OHK brutes with a claymore, on gold. Ravagers though, hell yeah! You don't even need cloak for that... But nothing... absolutely NOTHING... overcomes it's sheer badassesnes. So yeah, thank you Deerber, for showing me the light. Still waiting for reply to that PM, btw You are very welcome, my friend! *headbutts* I just gave back freely what I was given freely: knowledge of badassery. In my case, it was the High Prophet himself, Lord Fortack, who showed me the light, back in the wake of the old bsn prime. Although I do not understand what you mean by "a pain in the ass" *cough, cough*! I could, though, understand very much if you said that I'm an a-hole for never replying to PMs But don't worry, it's definitely nothing personal: there are at least a few persons in this very thread whom I still owe an answer! XD

I really love the claymore and I was thrilled when I finally unlocked it but I still can't manage to reload cancel and without that, it's simply too annoying to use. Reloading takes too much time after each and every single shot. Otherwise it's a very powerful weapon, I get that and I can imagine how awesome it will be once I get the hang of the reload cancelling deal.

Reloading takes too much time after each and every single shot. Otherwise it's a very powerful weapon, I get that and I can imagine how awesome it will be once I get the hang of the reload cancelling deal. Not too difficult to start reload cancelling. You'll just have to hit any power button (preferrably one on a cooldown, until you learn to mix/hide reloads with powers) after firing to cancel the reload animation once the next "bullet" is loaded. Let's assume Tactical Cloak is the power. If PS3 is the same layout as xbox then it should be Triangle. At first you can look at the bottom left corner of the screen to see the "1" appear during reload, that's when you hit Triangle. It's ok to hit it late, but early will result in cancelling the reload altogether. Eventually you'll get used to the timing/animation to know the exact rhythm. I found that reload cancelling with single shot weapons in the best way to get started as it forces more practice. Play in a game and leave a nemesis alive and get to practicing! The Claymore will wait for you.

Or buy a PC. On PC you can do it at any moment with any character by pressing the medi-gel key at the moment you hear the noise that indicates the clip is filled (or when you see the 1, as inert said). It will cancel the last part of the reload animation because it's a new acion, but because you're alive the medi gel won't do anything so there's no animation.

PC is the way to go - but I use an xbox controller anyway - but the console means to reload cancel still apply and work fine.

Took lots before I got the hang of it, just keep trying! It's also essential for Javelin, Widow and any other single shot weapons, and other weapons have different timing for reload cancelling, keep that in mind.

Play in a game and leave a nemesis alive and get to practicing! The Claymore will wait for you. This is sound advice, and also works as source material for your very own Benny Hill sketch if you have a capture device. I eventually got the hang of reload cancelling with my beloved Krentinel, but I think the Asari Huntress is probaby the best overall. SI/Widow is another which I still find easier than say a GI/Jav - the extra factor of the tricky firing delay of the Jav adds a complication which, off-host anyway often leaves me just waiting for the natural reload. Making two shots hit with the Javelin is more important to me than trying to get three in the same time but probably missing two of them, if you know what I mean. TSol with Executioner Pistol spamming Concussive Shot is also an excellent training option - the rhythm is just perfect.

Hey after your epic extraction war story in the other thread I would be the last person to start something I'm just to trying to compensate for the fact that I can't reload cancel Just follow the sound advice given in this thread regarding reload canceling and you'll see the light. Joke apart, Claymore, sorry, the High Lord, is the first weapon I've learned reload canceling on, because the results are... more than gratifying.
