If you watch the video below from E3 2016, you will notice the giant radiation dust storms on Eos that we never see in the game. Why was something like this cut? I'm wondering if it was too much for the player to deal with on the first planet that they dialed it down. I didn't notice on my first play through, but it's something I would have really enjoyed. It would have also helped made the world more unique compared to Elaadin.
I wish they could add it back into the game. It seems this feature along with a few others like choosing the type of colony for each world were cut from the game. What other features have you noticed that were changed or cut from the game?

It's standard for features to be axed or cut during game development. It's why BioWare tries to show as little of its games as possible until near release. No idea what the issue around the storms could have been. Perhaps it was a performance issue and not getting decent framerates on consoles? We'll likely never know.
Perhaps some of this stuff could be added back in via a free update or perhaps even retrofitted into DLC?

I suspect it would have tanked the framerate on a console and low to mid pcs. Shame really. There's wind and snow on Voeld and Rain on Havarl. Maybe it was frame rate but then why all the detailed elements on other planets

To be honest, I'm more concerned about what happened to PeeBee's face. They realised they couldnt make it work without making her look like a man. @op I'm disappointed in the things the devs bragged about playing thtough. Parachuting into volcanoes with "Krogans" Implying there was more than one. So this isnt simply bringing drack to Peebz LM. Krogan smash poetry was changed to a nervous Turian just standing there if not an empty stage entirely. Jokes about Hanar. The list goes on if you read through their tweets about playing through the game. (Which they should have been working on and not playing imo.) It looks like they cut half alnost everything at the last minute and what we did get wasn't finished yet.

Just noticed this as well. Ryder will even talk about the sand storms while exploring Eos the first time. I'm like, what sand storms? Clancy will mention the winds and storms. Bodies were apparently buried by the sand storms. It doesn't make sense. And I really don't think its frame rate. when the consoles can handle the heavy snow falls, rain, and vault smoke.

This is why BioWare was "hiding the game" like so many people claimed they did for they want to limit the amount of arm-chair developers.
My guess is on Eos the storms tanked the performance of consoles because of other factors on the planet, which is why storms stayed on the other planets.

My i7-6700k + GTX 1070 at 1080P sometimes(not often, but occasionally) dips to 50fps with everything on the max setting. If they threw in roaring sand storms the particle density would likely tank my FPS even with my PC. Sand particles are no joke to render. Seriously EOS performance already tanks on the basic PS4 and Xbox One, they do not need sand storms.

Not sure about whether is was an performance issue... or at least they could've done it in a smaller scale. We had a sandstorm in ME3 MP and in ME2 at Neith + Canalus. They could've done it the same way.
