Should work PR for them... though I will disagree since their world only felt like a cut and paste game world with little thought to actual lore. But then, I am not a fan of stock dark fantasy design or weiting, so TW never really came alive in any game for me. I expect far more to be impressed. Many of your complaints don't speak to the things I enjoy about that game at all kabraxal, though I understand that simply not digging a setting (as is the case with me when it comes to Fallout) can make a game totally impenetrable. You know, given that dark fantasy just isn't your thing, Blood and Wine might represent the Wild Hunt's best chance of sinking its hooks into you, as it has so many others. If you play on PS4, I may just have a spare code for you, should you want it? Maybe. I'd have to get my copy of tw3 back since I llaned it out.

Hearts Of Stone DLC is probably the best DLC i've ever played in my life. Just unbelieveable story, deep and dark here, funny and colorful there, plus so many beautiful moments with Shani. I remember the moment when i face the "bad guy" at the end - OMG that was creepy. >Shani was the best thing about that DLC That illustrious honor belongs to our own Master Mirror

Having just finished MEA (100 hrs) and switched back to tie up loose ends in TW3, I have to say that the difference in quality--at nearly every level--really is considerable. And Geralt is just the best. I say this as a girl player who generally prefers to play a female protag. He may be my fave character to play ever, aside from femShep.

Don't get me wrong, as a character I think Geralt is great, but he is just not someone I am excited to roleplay as (Sara Ryder is leagues above him in that capacity for me) Now, if they make a spin off with Criri then it's Katy bar the door!

I think what I love about him is his disgruntled sarcasm. Someones he just made me crack up ("Fascinating story. Any chance you're nearing the end?"). I don't really consider it roleplaying though; he doesn't have the range in dialogue for that, though moreso in decisions.

The problem with comparing The Witcher 3 with Andromeda is that the former completely outclasses the latter. I mean, TW3 will be remember as a hallmark game and one of the best RPGs of all time, while Andromeda? Not even a top100 RPG list.
Of course, there are a few aspects in isolation that can be compared, but games are more than their individual parts.

But to be compared to a game that is one of the best RPGs of all time? Then I'd say it also has to be a very fine RPG, which I don't think Andromeda is. It's average, maybe a little bit above average.

In which I agree, I do think it is pretty average, but I don't see anything wrong with average. It could have been much worse like the ghost busters games they try remaking. In all honesty, I don't think MEA should be compared to TW3, and they should just accept it for how it is. Yes, I know the dev comparisons, but the end product is different. Like I said in other threads, I have never nor ever play TW3, but I can still respect it as a good game. It's more apple to oranges comparisons.

If now, 5 weeks after release, most of the external topics about MEA are almost dead, then in 8-10 years from now, when we will be - or our children will be - discussing the best rpg's ever done - probably no one will mention MEA, as we are still discussing and mentioning Baldurs Gate or KOTOR. MEA will just not survive the test of time.

I may or may not* have shed a tear the moment Blood and Wine ends and I know the it's the end of the road, or rather the Path, for him. *I totally did. I pretty much did too; at that point and and when they left Kaer Moerhen after the big battle; I could feel that it was the last time they would be there...that they were going to go their separate ways. Geralt really won me over the course of that trilogy. When I played the first game, I was more interested in his profession and what kind of adventures he would have. I enjoyed meeting his friends again for the first time (since he had lost his memory)Deadpan humor and uninterested in taking crap. I enjoyed his reactions to things; especially in the third game. His reaction after fighting the gravedigger was the same as mine as the player..we almost said it in unison (what the f**k was that??)I hated to see it end but they really did a fantastic job with the game and both expansions. I loved Stone Heart; didn't think the next one could top it but it did. And the battles...yeesh. You think at that level you're a bada** and you fight Dettlaff that first time...let's just say I was relieved when he decided to retreat.

I'd argue none of the mass effect games are of that caliber period as that's reserved for games that changed the industry(ME sales have never been big enough to ever show it has that influence). How many games are modeled after any mass effect game being the standard of the RPG genre?
