Also: Shepard just chilling and probably eating popcorn while thane and kai leng are fighting instead of doing.. something?!
This does bug me, but in my head I imagine it happened way faster than what we see on-screen. They tried to make the fight "look cool" but instead made Shepard, squad, and Thane all look like idiots instead.
ALSO if reapers where in control of Citadel, why didn't they turn off the relays.
Insane AIs don't do things that make sense? In some long lost part of its programming, the catalyst wanted someone to succeed?

The fight is choreographed weirdly. Supposedly it mirrored the fight in ME2 trailer where Thane fight everyone in melee and punch people using biotics and occasionally using his gun.... but Space Ninja over here is using a sword..... *facepalm* worst assassins ever.....

I also always assumed that they trying to make us belive that they are moving too fast to properly aim at Kai Leng Or maybe plot froze Shepard and squad in place to let Thane have hero death.

I just think it was rushed. It's EA's fault more than Bioware's.
Thane wasn't originally even supposed to die that way --- or the VS, for that matter. The Citadel Coup was a separate thing, involving Terra Firma and Hanar. Thane stuck with you long enough to go to the Hanar homeworld.
But when you have to scrap all of this and rewrite huge scenes in weeks, this is the result.

Still don't buy into Indoctrination Theory. I've read it and, no, it doesn't add up. Cool. I think it makes perfect sense. In fact, at this point I'd say it might make too much sense to be true Hanging out for days (weeks) and throwing a big party on the Citadel while the reapers are probably killing thousands by the minute. Tic toc, motherfucker. Yes, I promptly mocked that idea as soon as we discovered what the final ME3 DLC was. The golden part is I used an existing conversation from the game itself! So, the writers were either aware of how stupid it was and did it anyway, or just forgot. Either way... I've thought about that since launch as well. It's one of many things in the ending that only makes sense with dream-logic. So it could be symbolic. Otherwise, it's really beyond stupid. Nothing symbolic about walking towards the tube while shooting it. Anyone who's been trained to use a weapon would know the effective range of that weapon and realize if the target can be hit from a distance, getting closer won't make the results any better Not that awesome My Shepard never considered him to be a mentor The reapers were made stupid so that Shepard and the galaxy can defeat them A better question is why did Harbinger fly off and not vaporize Anderson? Uh. I feel like you missed a lot of what I said And I don't know how to divide quotes on this site yet, so I guess I'll have to do numbers for now. 1. You're taking my comments about a non-literal interpretation literally. I said right there that literally, it's an extremely stupid thing to do, so I don't know why you're telling me that again, we were on the same page 2. I was making a joke, hence the smiley... 3. Okay, but that seems to be how the writers wrote him anyway, and I was using that train of thought as an explanation. 4. That's unfortunately common. An enemy is built up to be this incredible, nigh-invulnerable force, so to make the good guys able to win, they are handed the Idiot Ball instead of using their forces/powers to their full potential. 5. That is also a good question! It's not like Shepard was the last person doing the Beam Run. Harby shouldn't have left. When talking with Conrad in ME3, some how Shepard still has the 10 asari writings and the Elkoss Combine Armory License on her/his omnitool from ME1. Wouldn't the omnitool of been damaged after Shepard died at the beginning of ME2? Well, it's not unfeasible that there would be something akin to the Cloud in ME. Either that, or Cerberus recovered the data from the omni-tool or Normandy debris assuming there is a local network. Why didn't Citadel just closed itself before reapers moved it to Earth. Like, I'm guessing this is the reason why reapers didn't attack Citadel from the beginning (even if they would defeat the Citadel fleet, all it had to do is close and they would impotently bang on it's shell, that's why they needed to control the Keepers in the first place) BUT HEY, they casually move it to Earth when plot needs them to do so. ALSO if reapers where in control of Citadel, why didn't they turn off the relays. I've always wondered how exactly the Citadel moved in the first place. It is a mass relay, but you need 2 to travel, so that's not it. It also seems far too massive to be able to be transported by one, but I don't know.

Use BBCode I know what you were saying. Part of what you said is that it could be symbolic. I was saying it's not Apparently Bioware didn't see it as a joke since they put it in the game If that's what they intended, they failed. I'm sure some of it has to do with Bioware not planning ahead

Saren's massive research facility on Virmire. How the hell did he manage to build that massive thing? I guess he could have used his contacts from Binary Helix and the Turian military to find an old research base or something, but it was never explained.

Why is Shepard able to send Ashley/Kaidan to Hackett? What help could they provide? Why not send Liara? She is the so-called prothean expert. Sending her would make more sense. Wait a minute. This is a thread about things that don't make sense. My bad. Either way. I would've sent her to Hackett after Mars

After Harbinger is seen flying away, Coats and a woman say retreat. Our forces have been decimated. We need to pull back. Why didn't Anderson get on the radio and say negative, get to the beam at all cost? He did say at the fob, No retreat, no stepping back and we move forward no matter the cost
Why did the committee say to Shepard "We were hoping you tell us" after Shepard asks what's the situation? How would Shepard know? Shepard didn't even know Ashley/Kaidan moved up in rank. Too bad Shepard couldn't say to them, How the **** would I know you idiots? Remember? I've been locked up for 6 ******* months when I could've been out there finding a way to stop the reapers. But noooo. Then I have to listen to this clown named Anderson tell me he needs me to help find a way to stop the reapers. Why don't you ask him why nothing was done about that while I was dead for 2 years. You guys are worthless. What dirtbags gave you your job? You know what? I'm going to have a beer while you clowns pull your heads out of you fifth-point-of-contact
During the recruitment mission to get Garrus, Garm, the Krogan ,can kill Garrus if Shepard doesn't do anything. What doesn't make sense is Garrus continues using his sniper rifle at very close range against the krogan instead of switching to a pistol or an assault rifle

Cerberus.
From a privately funded shadow organization operating on the fringes to a powerhouse capable or rivaling the major players in the galaxy. In a time of total war, when the galactic economy has collapsed thanks to the Reaper's annihilation of the home worlds and colonies of the member species, we have Cerberus increasing its capacity to field armies, fleets & special project funding indefinitely.

It doesn't help that humanity in just about every other case has an air of humility about it. Like all the colony worlds with their makeshift building structures (I forgot what they're called now). Yet all this time Cerberus is like the equivalent of the Goldman Sachs building, in the middle of a ghetto. The Illusive Man looks perfect in his office space though. I'll give points for design.

A lot of those troops were abducted and implanted with Reaper tech.

What doesn't make sense to me about Cerberus is how they went from, "Is that a corporation?" that no one ever heard of in ME1 to galactic enemy #1, "you're a traitor and your life is forfeit for working with them" in ME2. All they did in the 2 yrs Shepard was dead was attack the quarians, which no one except Anderson and a couple of turians even noticed or cared about.

Hudson explained once that they were just filler "mooks", but considered expanding on. They decided to do just that in 2, so I expect some adjustments. But the leap in 3 is a bit more drastic. And I think Drew leaving didn't help. He was the main guy for Cerberus stuff before. There's also some Alien/Aliens influences here, so I think it was giving a nod to the shady corporations with that.

I thought it was a given that the Catalyst did want someone to succeed. It said as much that it tried something like Snythesis before but that the people at the time weren't ready for it. I think this is the #1 reason why Shepard was able to make it to the beam in London.
