It depends on my Ryder:
My Sara/Liam would probably settle in Meridian or Eos. My Sara/Jaal would settle in Havarl, next to his family. For my Scott/Peebee it would be the Tempest, always traveling.

This is the spoiler allowed section right? I'd say Ryder-1 after it finishes it's climate changing back to where the Remnants had it before the Scourge hit. Habitat-7 becomes Ryder-1 if you unlock "The World is Waiting" quest. It would have been perfect for humans, was intended to be the human home world, it's where Dad died, where you fell from the sky with your LI if you romance Liam, and that little place in the cave that was untouched by the havoc of that malfunctioning monolith was beautiful.
Yup, I'd get the tera-forming straightened out on Ryder-1 and have a bunch of little Ryder's.

If the 'settling down' is within a few years my Ryder would want to settle on Eos. It's presented as a comfortable arid planet whit large amounts of water stored in aquifers and underground rivers. That seems like a good planet for farming while also to be able to live in an environment with beautiful vistas & a stable climate. However if Ryder is settling down in let's say 20 years or longer he'd probably prefer a restored Voeld. It used to be an ocean planet with separated continents and archipelago's with large areas of the planet having a climate more akin to 'Cape Cod than Aruba'. Sounds like a perfect place for some long term beach property.

My first Ryder would settle with Cora on Eos, where she has her future garden planned.
Myself, if I were a character in ME:A, I'd set up my home base on either Ryder-1 after it's terraformed or Elaaden (I grew up near the Great Basin, so I kinda felt at home there and Eos).

Cool idea for a thread, orchid . I'd say Meridian, the Nexus or Eos, in that order. Meridian is beautiful and central to our mission. (Plus, endless rem-tech!) The Nexus is the same, minus the beauty. Eos is our first successful outpost, and will always be special in that regard. Of course, no stationary home is needed until they pry Tempest from Ryder's hands. No home has the perks and views of Tempest.

Good thread and one I am torn on. I could see Cassandra living either on Eos or Kadara.
Eos given how much of a triumph it was for her and sort of the beginning of the end and Kadara because it was where she cut her teeth. She may not like the seedy underbelly of the planet but it is, and where it was in the story, is partly where she was beginning to learn actually how to be pathfinder. And the planet does sort of have a very roguh, rugged beauty about it.

Unfortunately they are using standard Milky Way terraforming techniques, probably take one hundred years to get that far. Without the head start the planet has it would have been a thousand. Elaaden. A planet with Sun, Sand, Krogan, Shai-Hulud and a wrecked Remnant Starship? Sign me up! And according to a scientist, every now and again, the planet may experience a lengthy ( Pitch Black-esque) eclipse. If the eclipse brings back Claudia Black I'm all for it.

Elaaden for me. A nice little hut in a copse of those red trees with the red grass outside. And some happy-go-lucky Krogan neighbours.

But the planet has the monoliths, why use Milky Way teraforming and not the Remnant system, especially now that Meridian is kicked in and is connected to all the vaults? What am I missing?

Those monoliths are malfunctioning (as opposed to the others simply being shut down), why Alec had to shut them down to stop the lightning. Maybe if enough research is done on the Jaardan tech the AI might be able to repair them in the future, but that is not expanded on even in post-game.

EOS seems more suitable for humans. Fuck deserts and icey planets. Imagine living on that icey planet? Freezing your nuts off going to pick up a news paper.

When playing for the first time, I developed a bizarre expectation of getting to choose Ryder's personal home settlement at the end. Well that doesn't happen, but if it did, which planet would you guys choose for your Ryder? My choice is Kadara, since it's the planet with the best (and possibly most diverse?) climate and a fair bit of settlement already. I really liked all the houses dotting the landscape, especially since a fair bit were inhabited by regular settlers. After solving the gang rivalry it should be a lot more peaceful too, and the Pathfinder doesn't need to worry about outlaws anyway. I romanced Reyes and on the next playthrough I´ll probs go for Vetra, and Kadara seems a good fit both. Meridian is probably safest location and the environment looks lovely, but I think I'd get vertigo from seeing continents in the sky instead of, well, sky. Prodromos is probably the most popular choice for a common colonist, but I'd hate to live on such a barren world. Elaaden and Voeld seem like the worst choices, desert and ice desert respectively. How are they going to get anyone settle on an ice hell? On Elaaden you could maybe hope for sense of security from the Krogan neighbours, but it's still terrible. I could see this causing more tension on the Nexus in the future as more people get thawed. I would've made a poll, but I don´t have poll privileges. Harvle would be the worst in my opinion, of all the locations, that one has to be the worst for navigating, and feels claustrophobic, I agree on Kadara as one choice, Aya(if room) being another, I like Meridian, but it's not vertigo that would get me, it would be the lack of blue sky.

Maybe if enough research is done on the Jaardan tech the AI might be able to repair them in the future, but that is not expanded on even in post-game. Yeah, it seems that part of the problem on Habitat 7 was that the Scourge created a feedback loop with atmospheric processor, leading to the terraforming process going haywire. It's also possible that the Scourge had damaged the Vault itself, further causing it to destablise the planet's environment and biosphere. Some have speculated elsewhere in other threads, that if Alec hadn't stopped things on Habitat 7, the planet might have ultimately ended up shattering like H-047C, which seems to have undergone a similar catastrophic malfunction in the terraforming process?

My Sara Ryder would probably settle on Meridian with Liam and my Scott Ryder would settle on Eos with Cora by her garden, even though he already has quarters in Port Meridian. Kadara also seems like a good option, since it seems the most Earth-like of all the options. Also...
This is pretty dang convincing.

Scott would settle in Eos with Cora.

Too much out there undiscovered so my Ryder and space bae Cora would hang their hats on the Tempest.
If I had a little homestead somewhere I'd say Eos.

Tempest, for the foreseeable future. Then Kadara, if she could talk Jaal into it (probably not). Next pick is Nexus or Havarl. If they could get Voeld to its "Habitat 6" state, it would be perfect, but I doubt it would happen anytime soon. Wherever it is, it would be as far away from Meridian as possible. This place creeps me the hell out.

Aya, if the Angara let her (unlikely given their population control policies). It's a beautiful paradise and by far the most appealing place, imo.
Since Aya isn't really an option, perhaps Eos once the outpost grows into an actual colony. I always liked the deserts of New Mexico and Colorado. She wouldn't have to worry about reenacting Jurassic Park or getting shanked by pirates, either. Meridian would be interesting to visit, but it feels too artificial.

Aya makes me a bit nervous with the fire tornadoes and barren landscape outside the city. It's a huge pity we didn't get to see more of the planet, e.g. on the way to the Aya vault. Yea, Meridian may turn out to be just as great an idea as the Citadel (not that the AI would know about the latter's gruesome secret).

Scott/PeeBee - The Tempest or Meridian because, you know, wanderlust. They will have to take it from my cold dead hands Ellie/Reyes, PeeBee, or Suvi - Probably Kadara because she wants no strings and wants to be in the middle of everything. Ben/Cora - Eos because Cora wanted to start a garden there.

Honestly? She's not the "feet on ground" type. She's a space baby. Home is her room on the Tempest, reading books in the arms of her beloved Jaal, sleeping to the hum of engines, showering under the stars. But if she HAD to pick she'd probably ask the Moshae if she could bring a campervan to Aya and explore.
