Does anyone remember that ME1 E3 concept video thingy?
Compare that to what we finally got. Almost nothing we see in that video made it into the game. That's just how game development works, they start out big with giant ideas, but then the constraints of reality kick in.
Also, look at Shepard's face, lol.

I'm struggling to understand why it's 'retarded' to acknowledge that the concept art for Andromeda looked as exceptional as the game is average. It's a bizarre damage control where people feel obligated to 'defend' something they like, even if they themselves aren't being criticized for liking it. I must say, Peebee not looking like an Amy Schumer cosplayer, and Cora not looking like a college sophomore who bartends to make ends meet would have been infinitely preferable than what we got, and I will agree that concept art rarely if ever is translated into the actual product for a variety of reasons. (Funding, time... effort) But no one looks at concept art with a wistful "Oh if only..." if the actual product was good enough. The fact we have people looking at it and despair at what could have been can only be a harsh indictment at the plate of mediocrity we got. |

Would have MUCH preferred Peebee without the raccoon stripe. The harlequin smile is creepy and out of place but still better than her final design.
Do NOT like that version of Cora. Looks terribly bland too. I actually prefer her now.
Undecided about Liam, can't really make out his face properly. Didn't look goofy though, so I approve.
Overall, human (female) faces seem to have had issues from the start. These screenshots are not that big a deal to me since the game's aesthetics are not my biggest disappointment.

What the hell? How could you scrap some of those good looking designs for what we currently see in the actual Andromeda? Cora actually looked her age, the character creation tool was similar to Dragon Age Inquisition's... The menus also look cooler with that design. It feels like we got a watered-down version of what they first planned. :\

I remember some early footage and such but never this. I really like the original galaxy map and the different design of Virmire I'm assuming that's what that was. And there clearly was a different take on how you find out about the Reapers. But overall the finished product was better imo. |

I liked the Cora in the concept better, she looks like a better fit for the character. I don't know how old Cora was supposed to be in this game, but she just came across too old for what I got from her character.
Liam and Peebee look better in the concept.
Drack looks better in int e actual game, it fits grumpy grandpa, the concept looks younger and more generic
Jaal looks more generic in the concept
