Federico Rampello @workwithguns Hello @biomarkdarrah, I was wondering if in Anthem there will be a crafting system or will we have to go out into the world and find everything for ourselves?
New World, New Score: Announcing Sarah Schachner as Anthem’s Composer by Author - BioWarePosted on - August 20, 2018
In an original IP, building the musical score is a journey to find the right sound and tone to accompany an exciting new world. For Anthem, a science-fantasy game, BioWare was looking for a unique and skilled composer to help us achieve our vision. That’s why we’re pleased to announce that Anthem’s score will be created by Sarah Schachner.
Previously, Schachner worked on the critically-acclaimed scores for Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed. Her history of creating compelling scores for film and games make her particularly well-suited to bring Anthem’s music to life. A multi-instrumentalist, Schachner’s evocative time-travelling and intergalactic scores will create the perfect backdrop for rocketing around in a javelin and exploring Anthem’s dangerous world.
Scoring Anthem in Music City
EA and BioWare have a long-standing history of working with Ocean Way Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. Alongside London and Los Angeles, Nashville is one of the most important live orchestral recording destinations in the world. We are excited to bring Schachner and Anthem to Music City, U.S.A., for one of 2019’s most anticipated projects.
If you’ve watched our E3 Gameplay video, you’ve already heard snippets of the score. Eager for more? Turn up your speakers (or throw on your headphones), sit back, and enjoy “Valor” from the Anthem score:
Mass Effect Trilogy, Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age Inquisition, KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect Andromeda, Anthem, Mass Effect Legendary Edition
That was my thought too. Maybe they're both involved...?
I'll prod someone on Twitter...
Ask about sound department in general. How they do music. Do they have own composer who takes the artist and transforms it slightly for the game? I bet they wouldn't mind showing off a bit.

I think that's bigger than they can answer in a tweet. If you dig around though, you can find videos on the process during the run-up to DA:I.

There are two videos from the recording studios themselves, one from DA:I and other from ME:A. Loved the glimpses to the studio (and of course, I need to spot machines, eq's, mics and mixing desks )

Evan Bell @evan_prime Most characters have 2 different collision representations. A large, simple shape, usually a capsule or "pill" and the limb accurate 'ragdoll" shapes(16-24). For the Titan there is no capsule, only the limbs. The limbs are the size of other characters. #gamedev #anthemgame

Agh. Of course I've heard her. I just played AC:O through, though there the music.. stayed in background mostly. Some pieces were good. Then COD:Infinite Warfare, I cannot remember anything about that as usual of COD games.
That piece sounds very nice!

It's okay, but it doesn't have a memorable hook, like Destiny's theme, or Skyrim's theme, or Mass Effect's. I'd recognize those themes in the first dozen notes of their central motifs. Sometimes less than a dozen, only takes six for Destiny.
Inquisitor: Is that innuendo? Sera: No, it's at the front!
RoryPlays at Gamescom @roryplays_ Had the most AMAZING morning recording a podcast with @justbiglee @bio_Warner and @untdrew for @anthemgame! I can’t wait for you guys to check it out!
Andrew "AJ" Johnson @untdrew Awesome seeing all the excitement about @anthemgame here at #Gamescom2018 this week. It was a genuine pleasure meeting all of you future Freelancers here in Germany.
