Sooooo....were invites sent before public sign up was announced or a result of public sign up? Confused.... The email invites were sent right after the livestream. I'm sure they're keeping track of who got those emails and prioritizing accordingly. So your saying the Fans got the invites? but those of us who are on the fence who would love to play got the cold shoulder?

Not sure how are the supposed to evaluate who the DA fan is, aside from maybe those most notable? Also - the devs clarified that the current alpha will be very limited and a ton of people will not get the invite anyhow.

It’s a limited alpha, why would you want to base your decision on that? Just wait until the game is on sale a few months after release.

If you got an email for the Anthem alpha (as opposed to just clicking on a link) you will get preferential weighting. No guarantees, but we will try to get to you 1st. So keep trying. [hash]ANT

Sorry Papa but I was talking about the invites to the Alpha not the game in general. So am I. You said you have doubts about the game and implied you wanted access to the alpha. The alpha is more likely to give you the wrong impression about what the final release would be like. The alpha is for testing, not to let fence sitters kick the tires. And the “wow” was over the gall of fence sitters feeling left out of a very limited alpha. You think a fence sitter will provide better testing than someone who has already decided to support the game?

The emails were sent to those who signed up for the Anthem mailing list on the site, I would imagine. I signed up for those emails for MEA and never got anything. I actually think I told EA to kiss off as a result, since all they'd ever email me about was sports and SWTOR instead of ME and DA....you know, the things I told them I was interested in.
You think a fence sitter will provide better testing than someone who has already decided to support the game? Possibly. Maybe someone not completely sold on it will see something an already-a-fan person wouldn't. Someone not overly familiar with this type of game might try something different and find a bug that would otherwise go unnoticed. You never know.

To be honest yes I believe I would see the flaws so to speak of the game over one who has decided to purchase the game call it bias if you will , even during testing of a game and I have done a few it has swayed my view and I have purchased the game that I was testing so with that said its looking more and more that I have to wait for the reviews or go with my gut and deny Bioware my money. so those of you who decide to purchase and play the game I hope you all have the time of your life with tons of fun, me? i'll wait for something that perks my interest.

I have done a few it has swayed my view and I have purchased the game that I was testing Fair enough. It's good to know you've gone through a testing phase before, so you know what to expect. I've gone through two myself, and in both cases, the testing left me feeling more negative about the full releases than I might have if I didn't do testing, to what I eventually decided was an unfair degree, so I stopped doing testing. And the negativity wasn't always due to bugs. In one case, the test map and mode was better than what was finally released. The released version was dumbed-down, leaving me disappointed. So testing can cut both ways.

Sigh..... Anthem PC specs calls for Windows 10 64bit.
I have win 7. 64bit.
I'll switch to W10 when a game literally refuses to run on 7. I have 10 on my couch PC and it's a fucking abomination. Meanwhile my W7 PC continues to run brand new games as smooth as butter with no issues whatsoever. You'll be fine.

I didn't do anything otherwise special, I haven't ordered the game yet, so not sure I'd yet be counted as a "Fan" either. It seems just like a chance thing.

Meanwhile my W7 PC continues to run brand new games as smooth as butter with no issues whatsoever. You'll be fine. It will depend on whether Anthem requires DirectX 12 or it's just an option. If DirectX 12 is required, Anthem won't run on Win 7. At the moment, the Win 7 installed base is still larger than Win 10, but just barely, 47% vs. 41%. Crossover should happen in 2019, and maybe as soon as Christmas this year. That makes it a tough decision for games coming out over the next 6 months or so. Do you spend time/effort to support a shrinking installed base with a dual Dx11/Dx12 implementation, go least common denominator and sacrifice future quality with just Dx11, or bite the bullet and target the future with Dx12 only? DAI decided to support the shrinking base (PS3), and ended up regretting it. Will they learn from that lesson? It may be that Dx11 is good enough for Anthem graphics, though, in which case it's a not a decision they have to make.

W10 issues is an L2P situation.
Despite having some issues with borked updates, all of my games play fine. All of them.
I built my PC. That means I have to keep it up to date on my own, regarding some things like BIOS and chipset drivers.
If your game doesn't run on Windows 10, you should complain to your system builder and they should help you fix it. If the system builder was you, go to the mirror and yell at yourself; perhaps it will motivate you.
I seriously lol at PC "gamers" that can't get their games to run. That is my definition of a casual.
