When they started the Bethesda.net thing, it was bound to happen again on their terms. Cutting Valve out of it and taking it on for themself. We'll see how it turns out. I am sticking to Nexus mods as my primary site for mods, of course.

This is playable, don't worry.

I wish I'd been able to watch it live but the Bioware presentation started at about 1.30 am my time. Oh well, watched it in the morning and you know what? I'm actually quite excited for the game! Totally didn't expect to be. I like the name, Anthem. The underwater stuff looks freaking amazing. I also like the premise of humans being on the low end of the food chain. Not set on Earth, so maybe a colonization effort gone horribly wrong? Exciting times, can't wait to know more.

I confess my excitement level increased exponentially when they said that we can also play it solo. Like some others in this thread have mentioned, gaming is part of my "me time", and I don't really do co-op because literally none of my real life friends play games.

Destiny was a major disappointment for me. I suppose I could have done better research beforehand but I didn't expect it to be the grindfest that it was. I can't spend endless hours grinding and farming and whatever else, because I've got actual real life shit to do. Plus, it was annoying that I was unable to play (and finish) a lot of the content simply because I didn't have a team, and I just wasn't good enough to solo it. As I said, I should have done better research, if I had, I probably would have realised that I was not the target demographic, lol. Because of this, Anthem probably won't be a day one buy - will wait to see exactly how much like Destiny this game will be.

But all in all I think it's good they're branching out and trying something different. If this game does well then it would help fund other projects as well. As long as it doesn't do too well, and we still continue to get our SP games

So tl;dr - I'm cautiously optimistic, happy the reaction so far has been mostly positive

(man, sorry, this turned out to be way longer than I expected xD)

First things to come to mind is football and ice hockey. 

Nice to hear it might be possible to play the game solo (not yet officially confirmed anywhere and there were lots of lies about Andromeda in these Bioware tweets, so I'll remain skeptical for now).

I hope the game is not 1st person like in that demo before the player put on the javelin suit. There was also no dialogue wheel to be seen in the conversation with that dude.
