I’m happy for Nick. I’m hope he has success in Jacksonville (or wherever he goes).
I hate to see Timmy Jernigan go, but it's no doubt a money thing. He was great for the Eagles, but spent most of 2018 hurt. They managed without him, and money has to be saved somewhere.
Eagles signed Jason Kelce to a one-year extension that will make him the highest paid Center next year. I think he considered retirement, so I’m very happy he’ll be back to anchorcthe line for at least one more season. He deserves that deal. He’s been one of the elite players at his position for years. Oddly, he hasn’t had the name popularity of Alex Mack, to name one guy, despite rating out as high or higher every single year for his entire career. He’s been a phenomenal Eagle for a long time. The amazing SB Championship speech he gave cemented his Philly immortality. (Worthy of a repost for laughs.)

I hope the Packers make a run at Tashaun Gipson. Our safety position is a hot mess. Earl Thomas would be a coup if he can land him but I doubt we'll be able. There are rumors we are eyeing a trade for Dee Ford as we speak, but I would rather sign Justin Houston and keep any draft pick we might surrender.
Go get Gipson, a mid-tier linemen to shore up the RG spot, then spend what's left over on EDGE and/or another S.
In-house, I'd keep everyone who will come back relatively cheaply. Cobb and Matthews will probably have to walk.

I'm actually pretty shocked the Steelers traded Brown for just a 3rd and a 5th. I suppose there is value in just getting it all over with for good. But with how his public actions nuked his value and with the Steelers having 20 million in dead money regardless, they could've certainly decided to make an example of him. Maybe give him his money and send him home, good luck getting that next big payday after sitting on your couch for a year or two. But sadly, the soap opera in Pittsburgh has ended for now.

Tyreek Hill facing assault/battery charges, victim listed as a juvenile -- some saying he broke his son's arm.
Gross if true (and he has been accused of domestic-violence previously).
*edit* This is why I'm glad Green Bay generally avoids these types of players, tempting though their talent might sometimes be. Not only is it easier not to have to root for any scumbags, but there is the practical argument that they will let the team down by doing something stupid off the field.

“Innocent until Proven Guilty” and all that; but there sure are a lot of assholes playing professional sports. I wonder how this matches up proportionately to mainstream society? I guess we’d need a study using my broad definition of asshole to be sure. It just seems to be constant, again, after a relatively quiet few years.

That’s a cool way for Ngata to make his announcement. He’s always seemed like a really cool guy, and he was a great player. 13 seasons is a long career for a DT to play at such a high level. He was hurt a bit last year, but still managed to give the Eagles some quality football. I’ll always remember what a dominant player he was in Baltimore. He did everything well.

I'm not too familiar with Cobb, but what i have read was that he was pretty under-average in GB...for some reason, i don't think he will be as effective as Beasley...we'll see and Beasley passed up a chance to play with the patriots..he went to the lowly Bills lol. I guess at this point some vets are just following the money and not really concerned with winning superbowls....as a matter of fact i think the majority of guys are just following the money and could care less about winning super bowls.....Antonio Brown is a clear example of that.....there are a ton issues in pittsburgh as a culture, but the way Brown went in on the coach and just dis-respected him time and time again? There was no way dude could have stayed in Pittsburgh after that.....and that is what happens when you give these guys too much money, they feel they are worth more than the team....now granted these guys are putting their lives on the line and all that, but so are the other 52 guys on the roster....if i'm making that type of money, even if i'm having a dispute with management, i'm not going to clown them on social media..dude stock crashed the second he did that....nobody wants a pre-madonna or a headache.....i know i would rather take a hungry rookie than a vet that feels like you need to worship him. And i get Antonio works hard...so i don't want to take that from him either, but he behaved very immaturely throughout this entire scenario.....some say there was a doublr standard with Ben since he was throwing Brown under the bus for something about an interception thrown in the EZ and Ben was in some scenario possibly involving assault or rape of some sort....my point was that some was trying to throw the 'ol race card in there, but eh athletes from all sorts have gotten into trouble with the law and have basically received slaps on the wrist (both black and white) so while i did used to talk about police brutality in the now DEAD political thread..... (i still feel strongly about that).....in these scenarios, because of these guys being rich athletes, they usually get off with a light sentence or fine because of their status.....

He had his best years (800-1200 yards) when Nelson was still at his peak and attracting attention away from the rest of our WR corps, but could not pick up the slack after Nelson was out for the season with an ACL injury and was not the same player. He has also dealt with injuries for the past few seasons. If he can stay healthy, he could nonetheless be pretty effective receiver for Dallas next to Cooper, Witten, and Gallup.
