I started my Insanity playthrough fresh because I heard horror stories of running into terrible level scaling in NG+.

I won't exaggerate, I was having a degree of success, but it always felt like fights dragged on way too long simply because enemies have a huge pool of hp. And every time I died it was either to a 1-hit or burst damage so quickly that I was on the ground before I could even realize I was being shot. Fighting bosses felt more like fighting against boredom. I can endlessly kite fiends so it's just a matter of time and it takes way too long to down them. Ascendants are the same way. Destroyers have an unbelievable amount of HP on Insanity. Hydras are the only boss unit that feels about right.

If I didn't pack an unlimited ammo gun, I'd be out of ammo almost every single fight until later on in the game (like level 20 I think). Honestly though I didn't die all that often: my point was more that enemies have these insane modifiers that just makes the 'difficulty' not enjoyable. The difference between difficulties is enemy HP and damage output. And I find that this is not fun to play.

I plan on getting that game. Looks really good. Heard no complaints except it has no replay value, but that was from one post I read shortly after the game was released.

They should fear you regardless.

So far this 3d playthrough is my favorite. Renewed vigor and everything. Not enjoying not using my old weapons but meh.
