Lighting

It's a dark blue void but the lighting on the character seems okay with no changing lights or passing shadows. Unfortunately, I cannot compare the character in charactrer creator and the character outside of the character creator.

Presets

Of presets, there are nine in total. I feel there is a good variety in terms of features and races. As an example, I saw an asian preset which I thought looked rather good.

Hair

There are twelve hairstyles counting the hairstyle of the default which are included and avaliable in customization.

The hairstyles are mostly nothing wild but I do like most of them. There are are some "classic" hairstyles from the old Mass Effect's character creator. Remember that opinions may differ and I am not so invested in hairstyles.

Of colors, we have a large varieties that includes "dyes" such as pink, blue, purple, yellow and so on.  While I could not see an option that allowed streaking hair with another color, I did see a dye color that was a rather lovely mix of orange and yellow - I call it sunset - that gave the impression of yellow streaks. Unlike things such as eye color, hair color remains separate options instead of a color wheel

I would like to additionally note that hair color is no longer a slider but instead a series of dots that allow you to see the color without selecting it or having to go back through the slider. I very much approve.

Eyes

You can color the inside and outside of the iris. Of colors, there is the same sort of color wheel that was avaliable in Dragon Age: Inquisition's character creator.

Make-up

There is style, color and opacity. Of colors, there is the same aforementioned color wheel.

There are some wonderful styles avaliable in the make-up section in my opinion. I saw a lipstick that was done in the style of Kasumi's with the upper lip fully painted but with a stripe in the middle of the bottom lip. I love that style   I also saw a lipstick done in the style of Aria T'Loak with the single stripe down the middle of both lips. Additonally, I saw an eye shadow that covers both eyes like a sort of square-shaped mask, I also saw an eyeliner that was basically a line down through each eye and another eyeliner that looked like tears but done in a rather stylish way. I should note that the variety is a mix so there is likely something that is in your taste if you prefer something more subtle or just normal.

Scars

Scars are back, baby! There are twenty-seven styles of scars and a slider option for scar intensity. The scars are non-movable but it seems it was compensated for by having scars be avaliable in different places on the character's face.

There is an interesting and odd variety from grill marks, claw marks, light burns, bruises and so on. I saw a scar across the left cheek and left side of the nose that was done in the style of claws. There were a similar scar that ran across the forehead. As with make-up, there seems to be a mix that provides options for those that want mild and small scars and for those that noticeable and big scars.

Tattoos

That's right. We got tattoos. There are fourteen styles of tattoos. I was unable to see whether the colors were select options or a color wheel. As examples of tattoos, I saw a large spiral-like tattoo made of dots surrounding the right ear and a full-face tattoo done in the style of skeleton face.
