Weapons (as attachments)
Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted
The categories of weapons remain the same although we see some new additions as, at least, one sword and one hammer are now avaliable. Their attack looks very similar to the sword used by certain N7 characters and the hammer used by certain Krogan characters in ME3 multiplayer. I wish I could show them in action but I was unable to get a good 'shot of them in the briefing because of how quick the attacks were and the video has no rewind button. The sword is easy to see towards the right corner of the left screenshot and the hammer can be seen in the upper left corner of the right screenshot.
The briefing very briefly touched on weapon customization and I did manage to capture a 'shot of an Avenger rifle that had been modified to have an electrical conduit.

Note: this post has been tagged for spoilers and contains text as well as images about the weapons shown in the fifth briefing. There is also one screenshot of the femalr protagonist albeit seen from behind and in her armor.

Biotics (as attachments)
It seems the array of biotic abilities has been expanded upon as there were new ones I'd not seen before in the previous and ones that looks similar to those that had only been avaliable in multiplayer, not in singleplayer. Some of what seems to be old abilities could be seen: Charge, Singularity, Throw, Lift and what looks to be Nova. These are the ones I recognized in the briefing.
Attachment Deleted
Good ol' Singularity is still in game and looks a bit bigger but it may be that ability improvements now has additional visual effects. In this case, players who have put points into expanding the reach of their singularity abilities now cast singularities that visually exhibit that reach by being larger. This is not confirmed, however, and is merely a theory of mine.
There were a couple of interesting additions such as the one below:
Attachment Deleted
Here the protagonist seems to just straight up use biotics to lift a simulation enemy and carry them with her as she moves. I should note that this is not the Lift ability as Lift can later be seen in the video and functions as it always has. Note: this post has been tagged for spoilers and contains text as well as images about the weapons shown in the fifth briefing. There is also one screenshot of the female protagonist albeit seen from behind and in her armor.

Tech (as attachments)
The tech abilities seem expanded as well, now including abilities that I recognize from the multiplayer in Mass Effect 3. Of old abilities, I saw what is almost certainly the Tactical Cloak ability.
Attachment Deleted
Here what looks to be Flamethrower can be seen in action.
Attachment Deleted
Here is what looks to be Snap Freeze as seen in action. It may also be a significantly changed Cryo Blast but it's close resemblence to Snap Freeze makes me think the latter instead of the former. This is especially because the ability seems to be executed like a spray rather than a blast.
Additionally, I also saw a turret ability although the turret seemed to be sporting a different design and if not, it definitely seems to be wider and larger than before. It seems to be deployed the same as before by being tossed and activating on the spot where it lands.
Attachment Deleted
The jetpack seems to be dubbed Jump Jets. It seems like it can be used in combat and outside of combat. It can be used to hover in the air for an amount of time, to accent combat dodging and to jump without hovering.

Looks like another I'll have to play on silent mode and minimized. shechinah Thanks for the summaries! After some consideration, I would actually say that I think the video is safe to watch provided said watching is done after a certain amount of time has passed and if it is played without sound. The squadmate only appears in the opening and is otherwise only a voice. This means that the rest of the video after the opening scene should be safe for those that want to see the gameplay but not the squadmate. The pop-ups as well only contain images and text of weapons so those are safe as well.
For those curious and interested, it should be safe to watch the video after forty seconds as long as you play the video without sound.

25 days to go, awww, yisss! For those of you who are watching the A.I. briefings, my obsessive checking of the site has shown me that there is a new briefing up today. Just wanted to pass that info on. Something's up with my speaker on my work computer and I forgot my headphones so I can't give a full break down yet but this briefing is Weapons and Biotics Training Thanks So the first contact protocols must be the next and final briefing. We've come so far and we're almost there!
Is anyone else wondering if the sixth briefing is going to try and discourage interspecies intercourse as a part of the protocols on first contact? It's likely going to happen in the game so I'd find it very amusing if the briefing actually includes a warning against doing this because of the diplomatic complications and such that could arise. I could see Bioware including that as a joke especially knowing a part of their audience is viewing the briefing and acting all .

Sorry about that and thank you for giving me a heads up! I changed my picture. Didn't see what it was, but thanks for changing. And now I can start at Mordin, so Is anyone else wondering if the sixth briefing is going to try and discourage interspecies intercourse as a part of the protocols on first contact? It's likely going to happen in the game so I'd find it very amusing if the briefing actually includes a warning against doing this because of the diplomatic complications and such that could arise. I could see Bioware including that as a joke especially knowing a part of their audience is viewing the briefing and acting all . Based on the... like 2 videos I could watch before it got spoilery for me, the tone seemed kinda serious for that, but it would be amusing. They could do something to that effect, just in a more light and "professional" manner? "Fraternization" and whatnot. Edit: btw, is it safe to assume that all the romances have been announced? Rather not run into another spoiled one out there...

I'm almost certain that was the intended impression
I'm not sure about the bolded. Youtube showed me an Andromeda video in the side column that had something about romance in the title but it may have simply been a theory video on what the probable romances were.

Oh, I almost forgot: here are the three screenshots that weren't put in any of the above posts.
These two are semi-close ups of the female protagonist in the default armor and holding a gun. I thought they looked rather nice and provided a good look at the armor and gun(s) in-game. This one was originally suppose to have been a part of the Weapons post above but only three attachments can be selected per post.
I took this one to show the distance demonstrated from which a target was sniped from. Her two target were positioned on the building. I rather like the idea that you can snipe targets from a far away distance: it's another thing that seems promising given we may be looking at larger maps. Gives you time to set up a proper sniper nest and keep a view while hopefully directing your squadmates.
Note: this post has been tagged for spoilers. It contains weapons shown in the fifth briefing. Additonally, there are also two screenshot of the female protagonist in her armor.

Looks like another I'll have to play on silent mode and minimized. shechinah Thanks for the summaries! I just watched it and want to point out an annoying feature they added to the playback that silent mode/minimizers may want to know. At least for me, playing the video on the Chrome browser, the video actually pauses at certain points and pops up an info panel, even if you don't touch anything. You have to manually resume playback to finish the video. There are 4 pauses in total.

I know, it is especially annoying because sometimes the video continues to play despite the information panel stopping the visual feed. I think it's all unintentional, however, because I haven't experienced anything similar in the previous brefings. There the pop-ups had to be manually initiated by the viewer for them to show up and there, the video was paused in all aspects until manually started. I don't think it's a brower issue.

I actually forgot about the new briefing until now - off to not watch/listen to it.
Edit: They added another freebie?
A nomad skin. Is there anything extra to do or just do the briefings like before? I clicked the "get nomad skin" button about 10 times but nothing happened.
Edit 2: I'm getting the auto-pauses as well, using IE.
Editing edit #1: I had to (re)check the box about getting emails and then the link to the freebie worked, but I still can't tell if it actually did anything. Anywhoo, 5 of 6 videos down and 1 to go.

I'm starting to get a little bit excited! Only a month to go and it should absolutely fly by (or at least I hope it will, both for ME and personal reasons, haha). Meanwhile, even reading this thread I've realised I know absolutely nothing about the game or its marketing. Briefings? Early access? What? I haven't even been actively avoiding this stuff, but somehow I've managed to stay completely oblivious.

I prefer them not confirming who can be romanced. I like playing Bioware games by hitting on everyone and seeing who gives the best rejection

It always runs the risk of unrequited love but I've worked that into the character before and it's not something that tends to ruin my playthroughs: in SWTOR, my male Agent developed feelings for Vector mainly because of how he felt he could legitimately trust Vector when he could trust no one else. No romantic relationship ever developed because Vector was straight but I continued to roleplay my character as having secret feelings for Vector that showed it in how he was generally nicer to Vector, was more protective of him and and tried to make him happy.
Of course, the nicer and more protective part was also because he didn't like anyone else on his team and would honestly have killed most of them for the sake of the universe had the game allowed him.

Character Creator
So I've read some of the IGN interview and here is something for you hair lovers in here: according to IGN, there are some "array of unconventional and bizarre hairstyles" avaliable that "would never have suited the likes of Shepard".
Apparently the character creator lends itself to creating more “hideous and outrageous” protagonists. These three quoted words being Bioware's own according to IGN. I would make a joke about the character creator of the Mass Effect 1 already lending itself to hideous protagonists but oh well. At least this time, the hideousness of the character may be by the player's intent and not be despite the player's valiant efforts.
Back to the point which is that it seems like we can expect more variety in terms of hairstyles as oppose to Shepard's more militaristic cuts but I cannot with certainty say that. Basically, the unconventional, bizarre and outrageous would be by military standards is my guess.
I'm not saying that it might be long-flowing locks that we can expect but my impression is that Bioware is including some more stylish cuts and I wouldn't be surprised if we have access to more non-standard hair colors. After all, there is quite a lot that can be done with short and pulled-up hair.
I should note that the author of the article also wrote this: "It seems like a character creation menu you can spend hours in, and we’re likely to see a whole lot of re-creations of other characters being shared, just like those that came out of Fallout 4."

Rant
Now I know I have had limited exposure to Mass Effect: Andromeda but I think I've seen enough videos and images to make me very much disagree with the IGN author's negative comparison of the characters to the Sims 3. I know it is quite rude but I honestly wondered if the author had even played the Sims 3 or if the version the author had seen or played was a heavily modded one.
By Jove, I do not see the similarities and I'm speaking as a veteran Simmer of Sims 3. Quite a fair number of Sim players would be over the moon if a game in the Sims series came out in which the Sims could look like the characters in Andromeda without mods.
Author, do you even Sim?

DAI also had an arry of hairstyles that would have not been suitable for Shepard. Thanks for the info, but I am not buying into the hype. I am still sour over the fact that Bioware will not allow us to edit our characters once we leave Character Creation.

DAI also had an arry of hairstyles that would have not been suitable for Shepard. Thanks for the info, but I am not buying into the hype. I am still sour over the fact that Bioware will not allow us to edit our characters once we leave Character Creation. I think the reason I’m more inclined to believe it is because Bioware is making this claim after Dragon Age: Inquisition's criticisms about hair has happened. Basically, it seems like they’re intentionally building up expectations but then again, it may be that IGN is misrepresenting their words and Bioware was actually just making a joke about their usual luck with hair.
The lack of a Mirror of Transformation-esque object does suck but I'm still holding out hope that something will be implemented post-release. Hope burns eternal and all that.

DAI had a pretty miserable selection of hairstyles. I mean, having half of them be different versions of a buzz cut may be okay for dude Inquisitors, but I had a pretty tough time choosing something for my female characters.
But I'm sure Bioware heard the complaints. I'm not looking for anything outrageous or special. I just want something that looks normal XD
