Yeah i agree. But the thing is that this generation of consoles, as Crytek's (studio responsable for the Crysis series) director pointed out back in 2013, was launched with already outdated hardware. My former GPU, a gtx 760 - a basic and "cheap" gpu from 3 or 4 years ago - is way more powerful than what ps4 and xone has. And then we have this 2.0 versions of the SAME generation (ps4 pro and scorpio)... and bioware said andromeda will run @ 30 FPS ON PS4 PRO. I mean what the hell man... Frostbite 3 is a greatly optmizated engine and it's been around for a while - is not cutting edge technology, but the new and "unprecedented powerful" console cant sustain 60 fps running it? I bet almost everyone here would prefer to play @60fps - 1080p rather than upscaled 4K @ 30fps For not extremely casual players, PC gaming is the logical choice even with consoles having exclusives and pc ports being launched in a very poor way sometimes. The problem is how to turn consoles into powerful devices without jumping sky high with the price tag. How much does a PS4 cost? 350 dollars (North America, because price varies greatly depending where you live). The GTX 1080 alone costs 400 dollars and it's just one of many components you need on your PC. Granted is the most powerful graphics card on the market. But it's supposed to allow PC players to run stuff at max settings at 4K resolutions 60fps average, and it costs the same that a whole console. How much is the PS4 Pro gonna cost? 400 apparently and it's going to allow 4K-ish resolutions at 30 fps. I still call that a great trade. Building a 4K PC would cost much more money than that. The day than consoles can run games at real 1080p at real 60fps, is the day the price tag will be much more higher than people would be comfortable with, I think. Excuse me I fucked that up massively. The 1080 costs about 700 dollars. Point still stands though.

I like seeing my companions when I travel, though. Are we truly unable to turn around and see our companions while platforming and travelling around? That's a troubling setback to me.

Remember in Inquisition they had so, so much trouble with the companion nav meshes and AI in between combat. Maybe they ultimately decided to just have them completely cut out.

Later for the party. And extremely disappointed that they do not show combat or dialogues.
3/10 for this trailer.
So far, low hype.

They were deliberately cut off. An italian gaming site said that the tech video was playable at the meeting, and that they asked some question to the devs here. They said the squadmates were deliberately cut off from the exploration part, as well as other thing cut due to spoilers.

When the rest of the bridge "magically" appeared as the char ran across it, the first thought ; shades of DAI. "Magic omini-tool" whatever can operate everything, ; shades of medigel! Anyway, one of the regular Twitch streamers I follow said he'll be visiting Bioware Studios tomorrow. He might catch something of MEA, I'll see what he has to say.

It's just speculation, but maybe the companions aren't absent during exploration. Maybe the team split to explore different chambers in the same dungeon.
Or maybe it was to avoid spoilers (spoilery dialogue), as someone stated above.

The video is surprisingly underwhelming. A bit troubled by the entire theme of it really. I don't understand the focus on playing up visuals as if 1) that was the thing BioWare is known for and 2) that most people will even be able to play it at 4k resolution. Hard to believe we've waited this long for an actual look at the game and this is what they chose. A poor introduction. An error in judgement with just the marketing folks, I hope. EA has plenty of other studios in their stable that value style over substance, BioWare does NOT need to go that route. Harkens back to DA2's focus on "awesome stuff happening when you push a button!".
Troubled by the Asari's outfit, as others have mentioned. Not because of the outfit itself but the context in which it is worn.
Troubled by the weirdly stiff animations. If anything is going to throw off your supposedly beautiful visuals, it's that. When the Asari ran it looked like that sequence was rigged for a much larger framed individual, or perhaps the same individual in bulkier armor. I feel like this is the one part of BioWare's game that just hasn't improved throughout the generations of games. What I wouldn't give for Bungie's animators on this project...
Not feeling good with the information about so many Ryder's in the game. I have absolutely zero interest in "family drama in space". Never wished so much for the protag to be an orphan.
Don't like the disappearing companions during what was actually pretty meager platforming. Now that I think about it though, they didn't seem to show up even when not platforming. Maybe just a bad camera angle though. Regardless, other games have been able to pull off fairly decent AI navigation, not sure what is holding them back.
Overall this video served only to cool my hype while we wait for N7 day. I really think they should have just waited to do it properly instead of throwing something out there as basically an ad for the new PS4. Perhaps they felt pressure to show SOMETHING, especially after what that EA boss said. I do notice they threw the "Pre-Alpha Footage" tag at the bottom left of the video. Seems a bit ridiculous that they could still be pre-alpha if they intend to release in Q1 still, even more so if that same "pre-alpha footage" was then deemed fit to advertise 4k visuals.

So, we finally get our first glimpse of the male human squadmate. Assuming he's not the Jenkins, of course. Base on what the leak says, it looks like it's the usual support character plus combat character, then we start collecting the aliens.

So, am I the only one who felt it was Prometheus + Borderlands? I like the idea of the Ryder family. And I think BroRyder looks cute. (So does SisRyder.) I am far more intrigued than I was before and am definitely looking forward to whatever N7 day brings (even though I might have to go off the grid from this place soon after.)

Watched the trailer: +Nice mood and interesting lcation. Visually impressive overall. -Sexy asari. Do people *still* ignore where to not leave your body uncovered if you want protection (*pukes*) Han Solo doesn't wear armor. Nor does Lara Croft, the entire cast of Firefly, Indiana Jones, Nathan Drake, list can go on. Most adventurers don't wear armor.

Overall, I liked it. The setting is very pretty and I'm getting a nice exploration vibe. Hope we don't wind up gathering shards and elfroot, though. The remnants reminded me of ME1 gasbags crossed with keepers in mechanical form, so it gave me a Mass Effect feel. OMG MOCAP! I love the Ryder running animations compared to ME2 and ME3. (Gotta give props for that since it has always been a major complaint that is finally fixed.) I live in hope that the gawdawful DA2/ME3 "sexy run" won't make another appearance on FemRyder. You know the whole "is it a vase or two faces" thing? Unlike others, I'm less bothered by the flexible buttcheek armor and more suspicious of the buttcrack. It looks as though it was designed for something to come out of it -- or go into it, not sure which. Is it for ease of pooping? #buttcrackarmor Facial animations were a bit iffy, IMO, but that doesn't bother me too much. Am I the only one who thinks BroRyder looks like Casey Hudson? Thanks for Mass Effect, Casey! Guess we'll see you in Andromeda...

All those people you mention don't have to worry about the environmental hazards of space or hostile planets. If those people you mentioned went to half the places we go in Mass Effect, they would be dead within a manner of minutes. And assuming that the "vault" wasn't supposed to have hostile environment or enemies, casual attire and a kinetic barrier isn't too odd of a choice for an explorer / young adventurer. (especially if she is a biotic - which is rather likely considering, which adds additional options.) I'm not a fan of the ME2 over the top style-over-substance attires, but this is hardly the same. As I and others said multiple times before, if this is just her outfit while on this mission and later if/when she becomes a squadmate she gets a different field gear, that's fine. The issue people are having is if that is her permanent field attire, meaning she wears that on places we would know as hostile environments. If that is her permanent gear, it is the ME2 issue all over again which you yourself said you don't like.

I got a small bit of Prometheus vibes as well from the map and the VI/AI voice. The voice reminded me of David 8, the AI in Prometheus. BroRyder is okay. It looks little like they were maybe going for a bit of Tom Cruise to me. I hope the human man and woman standing next to Ryder have beautiful faces and hair. I like that the ME team finally gave human women some exquisite body curves and big perky booties (yes, I paused, she got a big ol' booty), both on the lady in the OP and SisRyder from the EA Play trailer. I want that asari's outfit (Aria's too)! Too bad where I live everyone dresses like they are going to church.

Miranda and Kasumi were the very curvaceous from the front, but from the side their butts seemed to sag a bit, Miranda's being more well defined, but still a bit saggy. I get very picky about that region of my female character's body (yes, rather shallow of me). I want her to have nicely defined waist, hips, and a perky butt. He's a character in Star Wars. He got cryonized, for pete's sake. Also, Firefly takes place in space and on various planets so I don't really see your point? (Granted, armor probably would have come in handy when Mal was trying to duel for Inara's honor)

At least we can bury those BS SJW claims now, no? She is dressed like a normal person, the outfit wouldn't look too outrageous even today on earth. The fact that she is wearing a normal outfit instead of a burka is supposed to prove something? I was being somewhat facetious, but in the more hardcore circles the exposed midriff would be too sexual, depending on who you talk to because it sexualizes the character. It is silly regardless.

If they went on a planet that had a chlorine atmosphere or a depressurized ship for example wearing what they do, they would die.
