Well I watched the video (in 4k on a 4k monitor) and well, meh. Butt strap physics was exiting though.

Maker, I had to rewatch the vid in order to see what all you people were talking about. Guess I was too busy paying attention at the scenery...but now all I can see are those damn flapping things!

Agree. Let Ryder's armor be different. Something I've noticed is that the colors of Ryder's armor contrast the colors of N7's armor: white and blue versus black and red. It is also the colors of the Systems Alliance, at least in later games.

Has anyone identified the gun in the Assault Rifle slot on the upper right of his back yet? Looks like a new age Avenger to me.

So now we complain about the armor colors? The red stripe in Shepard's classic armor screams like a neon sign no less than Ryder's blue and white armor, especially the Colossus armor from ME1. I'm 99% sure we can edit that one out ingame.

The human armors for the most part, including the color scheme, was actually one of the things I liked in that presentation.

We got more than i expected and it looks good. The asari looks great but not sure on male Ryder face or voice and also not sure i like the family options but will wait and see. So far the game looks good with good graphics. <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> I agree, that the video is a graphics showcase but little else about the characters. Imo, Bio attended the Sony NEO presentation to "market" Mass Effect: Andromeda and at the same time announced it supports 4k resolution and HDR graphics with the PS4 Pro. The Sony hardware console presentation is a perfect platform because it had a captive audience (streaming viewers included). Also cheap on the marketing dollars. A win-win for the studio. What I got out of it. The new info, as you pointed out, confirms the three members of the Ryder family. Also, the use of the jet pack (not impressed so far), the ninja turtle Asari, scanning tech that is much better than the submarine ping in DA:I, a holographic map of possible Remnant tech locations = reason for more exploration = 36 planets to explore at least, two unknown humans, a Carnifex pistol and the Remnant Vault Guardians that can attack you. Oh, the video also revealed a walking, running and sprint option, a new way to jump over an obstacle and how we can interact with doors and control consoles and Ryder is a lefty with a nice butt and dangling straps. The weapon on Ryder's left side confirms the studio's announcement that you can choose to shoot from your right or left. I think I covered most of it. I think the number of explorable planets has a lot to do with the size of the explorable area of each planet. I mean, if the explorable areas have the size of The Hinterlands, expect less than 15 planets. I'm guessing that in order to have 36 planets, each planet's explorable area has to be rather small.

I mean, if the explorable areas have the size of The Hinterlands, expect less than 15 planets. I'm guessing that in order to have 36 planets, each planet's explorable area has to be rather small. <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> What I got from the holographic map is that all those planets contain a Remnant Vault. Apparently, each of these Vaults can be explored from one end to the other. The 4K video shows that they are quite extensive. As to the surface area, it also could be large. How large we don't know. Maybe the size of the Storm Coast? My fear is having explored one vault end-to-end, the other vaults could be a cookie-cutter copy. Still, I'm encouraged by this: Remnant Vault Raids: Find and activate Remnant Monoliths to unlock Remnant vaults. Explore abandoned Remnant ruins to find and locate a powerful artifact, but once you remove it you will trigger the vault defenses that will arm traps, activate defense robots and even change the architecture of the vault itself to stop you from escaping. Fight your way out of the vault and you will be rewarded with valuable loot, including powerful gear, crafting resources and Star Keys that can be used to unlock massive orbital facilities in space that grant permanent stat bonuses.
Optional Elite Remnant Vault Raids are scattered around the Helius Cluster located in special orbital facilities that are unlocked by Star Keys. Similar to the standard Remnant Vaults, you enter them to retrieve a special artifact which will trigger the vault defenses that arm traps, activate defense robots and change the architecture of the vault itself to stop you from escaping. However, Elite vaults ratchet up the difficulty of the encounter with increasingly powerful defense robots and traps, as well as roaming outlaws and deadly Khet patrols that are also in search of the elite artifacts. Elite Remnant vaults will test the limits of your combat and puzzle solving acumen, but with greater difficulty comes greater rewards. Gain rare loot, narrative acclaim and huge rewards for completing these daunting challenges. That's a lot of exploring.

I will change the color to a dull flat black color. I'll be changing the armor so it more or less matches the enviroment on the planet I'm visiting for a certain duration: on a snowy planet, it'll be white and on a desert planet, it'll be sand or rock and so on. When I had the armor for it, I liked to do this in the first Mass Effect game for Shepard and their squad.
It'd be nice if you could customize your armor and then be able to save that armor set.

Camouflage...That seems interesting. Although if we don't have the ability to influence our squad's armor, that would just leave Ryder the only one camouflaged. Like, there'd be the asari in her pink shirt and the krogan in black armor out in the snow while Ryder's dressed in all white and trying to blend in. Ryder would either look like a complete dork or be the smartest out of the three if the game worked like that: possibly both.
I'd still do it.

A bright colored armor makes for an easy target. Light can even reflect off it to give away your position

If they're stupid enough to wear armor making themselves an easy target, its not my problem. As long as my main character is good to go, I won't worry about the squadmates.

I like the jet pack Have a trophy called, Look ma. No hands. To get this trophy, the player has to successfully jump 50 gaps without dying. Or a trophy called, "The Sky's The Limit... (Unless You Hit The Ceiling)" which involves the player foolishly attempting to use their jetpack indoors. Because we all know it's the first thing we normally try out when given access to jetpacks in games.
