So, after the first gameplay reveal which does look gorgeous I'll admit that. However, I can't help to feel a bit disappointed that what Mac Walters meant by "polish, polish, polish" was 4k support. Or at least that's how I feel. Then Aaron Flynn said in the commentary that the demo was designed for 4k displays, which after watch PS I love you doesn't have wide ownership. They probably could have patched in this feature after the fact (which is was Naughty Dog is doing with The Last of Us and Uncharted 4), but were probably forced to delay to early 2017 instead of Holiday 2016. That being said, better graphics doesn't mean that it'll be a better game; The Order: 1886 comes to mind in that regard.

ME:A would have had 4K support anyway since it's coming out on PC. I'm not yet learned in the field of graphics rendering, but I can't imagine that there were too many performance tweaks BioWare would have needed to do for the 1.5 consoles that they wouldn't have already done just to get it running better on the current gen.
Regardless, even if BioWare did delay to get 4K working, that doesn't mean everything else needs to stop. Bug fixing, tweaking, and possibly some minor content additions can all be done in the time of the delay. I think the takeaway here is that a delay is a universally beneficial move.

Since they have to perform black magic(reprojection/interlacing/whatever they do) to be able to pull off 4K 30fps, I guess they needed some time to adjust it for the new PS. It's not native or simply upscaled.

i cannot for the life of me understand why people are not content with 1080p. Yep. I'm more interested in HDR and virtual reality. As for the OP's poll, I imagine it was pushed for a variety of reasons, including getting things up to snuff for the new consoles.

100% No. It's pretty simple, they don't have to do any work to make the game work on the PS4 Pro or Scorpio. They will work 'as is'. They can be patched or changed to take advantage of the new consoles at a later date like any of the other games currently out. Ultimately, if a game is getting a PC release (or already has) it's already 'prepared' for the next console. It's just a matter of testing to find the right settings for the new console.
The whole thing there using to 'not upscale but also not be a native resolution' is probably used on the other consoles too. Also - still upscaling. It's like saying something isn't Anti-Aliasing because it doesn't have AA in the name. It's bullshit, it's just another technique to DO that.

First the boxes are invented to bind customers in a never ending spiral with so called goodies in a hardware format that never matches up to technical possabilities of the day. And if that is not enough of betrayal it is always touted as amazing/wonderfull ect...

While I'm excited for the game to come out, I'm all in favor of delays if it means the it's is being improved. ME3 was clearly rushed out the door and it suffered great because of it. So whatever the reason is for the delay I'm cool with it.

No it was delayed because they had to finish adding multiplayer that majorly affects the single player game and takes away all sorts of time and resources from the single player experience. I'm running with this one.

This time, I actually don't think so. I think it was "delayed" for legit reasons related to the game itself. And that's why I say that devs must be absolute certain of the release date before giving it to the public, so then they don't have to say "we're sorry, but we're pushing the game another 6 months" .

Likely the studio wants to ensure that the prequel story meshes with the game's story arc and characters. It's possible these elements were not finalized.
For example: The prequel novel contains a story arc that gets to be pulled from the game and made into a DLC or the game contains plot points that should have been covered by the prequel. The studio did mention they had "creative visions" to hash out.

they pushed the original release timeline because they wanted to maintain maximum cash flow for the other projects, when the bf1 dev's announced it got pushed back the ME:A team announced a 6 month lag almost immediately, which leads me to believe they pushed their release date more so as to de-conflict with other major title releases so they could own the market rather than enter when it has possible competition....

From what I've seen of the new consoles delaying your game to coincide with their launch would be a pretty big waste, there is no way that 6 months of development is worth a marginal resolution improvement

I'm running with this one. And they have to work in microtransactions where you buy the endings, but the ending pack you get is subject to RNG. Dupes will be possible. Also, you can only access the ending store by playing multiplayer.
