It's worth noting that if you do the Expansion sooner, as I did this first time, the rest of the game is littered with Phantom Liberty references afterwards. Just as an example, when first meeting a certain celebrity in "Violence" V mentions seeing them before in Black Sapphire. Very true. I know you can also talk to Hellman about certain events when you nab him after completing the expansion. It just seems there are far more references to the main game in the expansion than the expansion in the main game. But you can also mix and match, like do the first urgent bit as soon as it comes up then stagger the rest throughout the game. Not that this is necessarily anywhere near the same, but this reminds me of ME3's Citadel DLC - content that there's pretty good reason to place it relatively sooner (between Coup and Rannoch Arc if Tali not around or you don't care about her, or very soon after Rannoch arc ends if you do have Tali and care about her), then space out content afterwards with visits to the Strip after every couple significant missions (Leviathan/Omega helping with that). I felt, doing it first all at once, right before near the end, it sparked way too many of my bizarro conspiracy theories, it was so jarring. Spacing content out, it becomes less of something totally weird (still most weird than most tonal shifts in the trilogy), and more something that I can actually integrate into the rest of the game (somewhat).

Fuck, that patch is big. 50min download for me. And I'm already super late with everything tonight thanks to horrible traffic. I might just sit in a corner tonight and just cry frome exhausting and frustration and call it a day. Why does everything always have to come together in one big clusterfuck to ruin my entire evening. Ugh.

Did they also improve the graphics? Path tracing doesn't look as fuzzy anymore or am I imagining things??
Five minutes into the new patch I got shot on my bike by assholes shooting from their cars. Couldn't figure out how to shoot back fast enough. I'm not sure I like this new driveby shooting feature, lol.
Haven't used the metro yet.

Couldn't figure out how to shoot back fast enough. I'm not sure I like this new driveby shooting feature, lol. Haven't used the metro yet. I thought it had completely killed my graphics performance at first. Had to turn everything down to get it running smoothly. Then gradually turned things back on to where it was and it was fine. Weird.
Just been ambushed during a random gig, but it was one with a driving part. Previously in any gigs where you had to drive anywhere nothing would ever happen (except for a specific type in the DLC), so I think that's a definite improvement. Not sure if you get mobbed randomly driving around, or how often? I wouldn't mind occasionally, though. In last play through, I had a bunch of cars with machine guns and rocket launchers that I never used, because my V didn't go out of her way to piss off the law.

I have not updated my game yet. I have automatic updates turned off in GOG Galaxy. I will update the game after I am done with my first playthrough and see the changes.

In the new patch they said they've improved Vs movement, animations with guns as well as fine tuning some of the sound design. All of these are apparent to me. Had a couple rando attacks by gangers in cars because i'd finished a gig where I wiped a bunch of them out. It's a nice touch and didn't feel annoying. Only two cars attacked. I killed them and moved on. The metro is pretty neat. There's some NPC dialog to listen to and the interior is really cool, but I'll only bother with it once in a while I think. Gun sounds definitely are improved and I thought they already felt great. Next up I need to try the races. As for visuals, I think they tweaked the lighting but not graphical fidelity.

As for visuals, I think they tweaked the lighting but not graphical fidelity. A rather nice feature in this update is the ability to use Ray Reconstruction without Path Tracing. However, patch 2.1 also introduces some new bugs. So hopefully we get another patch soon.

I just happened to click on the stream as well and saw they won Best Ongoing Game. It's just too bad that they had to lay off a bunch of people this year. Oh well, we did our best to support them.

It's just too bad that they had to lay off a bunch of people this year. Oh well, we did our best to support them. That's a shame I really enjoy their games. The Witcher 2-3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are some of the best games I've played. That's why I bought The Witcher 3 (got The Witcher 1-2 for free through a GOG.com free giveaway) and Cyberpunk 2077 through GOG.com since they own it.

Most big studios end up letting people go and then hiring again depending on what phase of development they're in. It's an unfortunate aspect of the industry. Also, I thought there was best expansion category? Phantom Liberty should've won that if there was.

What do you guys think of the way people talk in Cyberpunk? Is it a stylistic choice by authors or they just wrote dialogues in Polish and had some interns translate it? I try to think that the former is in universe explanation - this how people speak in 2077 - but it is still off-putting to me, while believe that the latter is a real world reason for it and Slavic languages (like Polish) do have a loose attitude to word order and can just drop 'unneeded stuff'. Frankly, I consider acting to be one of the weakest parts of the game - I am not a big fan of V's (both) or Johnny's voice acting, and they are the people that talk the most in the game.

I liked it fine. For the most part very casual and slang filled dialogue is very in keeping with the source material. Most of these characters are street punks or operate on the same wavelength. keanu’s delivery was a bit stiff sometimes, and I was not a huge fan of male V’s quasi-New York accent, but I really like female V’s voice.

I heard in an interview that they wanted to avoid pronouns. Why that is I have no idea. The result is a very abbreviated style of speech: Instead of "I'd like to hook up with that fixer" It's, "like to hook up with that fixer." or "Gonna get my car" instead of "I'm going to get my car". The game is very consistent with this and almost everyone you encounter talks this way. The weird thing is, they did the exact same style in TW3 in the way Geralt talks. Geralt literally talks like V if you remove the lingo. At first it bugged me, but the more I play the more it feels fitting for Cyberpunk. As for the extensive lingo, that's to be expected and all of it comes directly from the PnP.

I ADORE female V. Top 10 list of female protagonists. Very emotive, very cocky but also very vulnerable. Really sells the character's socioeconomic situation. As a non native speaker and sheltered middle class child I just assumed that's how "ghetto" people talk. So these shortened sentences aren't normal then? Does it matter though? This is fiction. Lots of specific lingo in this setting. I actually love it when people in fictional settings don't talk like people do in real life. Language is something that constantly changes. Each generation IRL uses different words too. The game is super immersive to me.
Blows my mind that anybody would consider the voice acting not great. To me it's among the best I've ever heard. Hollywood movie good in fact. Then again I am not a native speaker and I'm not sure if non Germans can tell how godawful German actors sound.
Only one who sounds kinda stiff like a stage actor is Johnny and I can't tell if Keanu Reeves just isn't that good an actor (I have never watched one of his movies in English and it's been a very long time since I saw any of his movies too). Or if he does it on purpose because Johnny is such a melodramatic ridiculous character.

I did most of my playthroughs including my first one with the female V, but I also really like male V's chill voice. The English female V can sound a bit too hotheaded sometimes. The Japanese female V is actually much soft-spoken and chill. Two very different experiences.

At first I was not a fan of male V's voice. As someone who grew up in the ghetto and fought to get out of it I disliked hearing his voice. It wasn't until act 2 that I began liking it. He was really good at the emotional scenes like when he goes sees Vik after getting shot in the head by Dexter Deshawn. The problem is that the male V uses the same voice for Corpo and Badlands backgrounds. As for the rest I thought they were great. Keanu is Keanu in saying he was never known as a great actor. He's no Michael Clarke Duncan or Robert DeNiro, but he is serviceable. But like Kappa Neko said I too enjoy that the Cyberpunk world has it's own language and slang. Would be weird if everyone sounded like Shakespearian actors from Masterpiece Theater.

Oh, I meant the Cyberware Capacity hard-capped at 450. Mine was at 457, so the game automatically unequipped some of my cyberware with the Patch 2.11. Thus it ruined all my previous game saves.

Ah shit, that sucks. Why did they do this anyway? It's probably a response to people who did the Cyberware Capacity Shard glitch. So they set the new limit at 450, but they forgot you could increase the limit to 500 with perks like Edgerunner. Since my Cyberware Capacity was only at 457, all I have to do is visit a Ripper Doc and add the cyberware again. However I'm too lazy to go back and fix hundreds of game saves.
