So anyone know what the promo plan for Cyberpunk is at E3? Will they be releasing gameplay footage to the public or will it be a behind closed doors deal? If yöu make a thread aböut it, it will happen faster! No need, the official twitter got us.

I would have preferred more nightime scenes so that all of the bright lights could really stand out. Beautiful sunset scenes too like on Illium and Thessia. There was too much bright sunlight imo.
Got a funny feeling that there isn't going to be a day/night cycle. It's silly I know but I can't shake it.

I mean, I am fairly certain this game will have dynamic day/night cycles, so i wouldn't worry about it in game. At least now, we immediately get an impression as to what the day will look like and given that yes, we are all more used to the more moody night-time settings in this genre, i think what we did see already looked very atmospheric.

So apparently it's a first person. That's what I call a cold water bucket. I wish them success, but I'm out.

They did touch on a few interesting things about the Protag - "V"? Male or Female, voiced, choose your own backstory, 3 flexible "classes" - Netrunner, Techie, and Solo which you can kinda mix and match abilities. Experience is separate from "Street Cred" which gives you access to better vendors and mission givers on side quests. Vehicles, but wouldn't confirm you can pilot the flying cars (I suspect they're saving that for a future reveal). And despite the trailer, the kept trying to make a point this game will be very noir, and Blade Runner-ish in feel.

I always think it is weird when games have character creation and then go first person. I could see with a set protagonist, then I wouldn't care too much. But if I'm creating my own character, I kind of want to see them. The other details sound good, so this is still a likely buy from me. Definitely disappointing though.

I'd rather have gone with 3rd person as well, especially in a game where you equip your character a lot. Like seeing all that cool stuff I wear/carry. Ah well, I don't mind too much though, I can work with FP as well. The rest of t all sounds very good though.

They're talking about customizing your V right down their your scars and I'm thinking... are there mirrors everywhere? Will I ever see them? I'm guessing (hoping?) the'll show off your character in cutscenes.

This is the last game I would have wanted a First Person perspective for, especially when it allows for a character customization, don’t really see point in it now. That is as much a letdown as Shadows Die Twice not having a CC.

Even if they show the char in cutscenes, I always find that weird if it's FP gameplay and then for cutscenes you are suddenly in TP. My best guess is that there'll be a fair amount of shooting, so they wanted the view for that but even then, games like Ghost Recon Wildlands proved that one can make a good TPS game with iron sight mode. Also, I'd hope stealth is a big component in this game as well and I always enjoy those more in TP as well.
Ah well, let's wait and see. I am sure they thought about it quite a lot and will have a good reason for that decision.

You see them in cutscenes and that's a bit redemptive to me because my biggest gripe with FP is that, unlike most people, I don't want to wear my character skin and imagine that I'm inside the game. When I see FP cutscenes, to me it's a constant break of the 4th wall and it's super weird.
But still sucks so much to be able to have all those futuristic, weird and cool looks and I can't see my character blending or rotate to see my full character while playing. Maybe sometime some fan will create a mod that allows third person.

Really... well I can cross Cyberpunk of my list of games to buy in the future and that list is pretty much none existent anyway... One of the reasons I've never been able to finish Skyrim is because it's meant to be played in First Person...

IGN's First Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay Details: First-Person, Driving, and Character Name, Moreca.ign.com/articles/2018/06/12/e3-2018-first-cyberpunk-2077-details-game-is-a-first-person-rpg-moreHere are some of the other details that are emerged from the live demo. CD Projekt describes the game as a "first-person RPG." Gameplay is in first a first-person perspective, but switched to third-person during a cutscene. You play a character named V (as in the letter). V can be a man or a woman. The stats you pick at the start include Strength, Constitution, Intelligence, Reflexes, Tech, and Cool. These stats are all pulled from the original tabletop RPG. There are no classes at the start. Instead, you evolve the class you want to be as you play instead of picking a role. You can drive cars in the game, and seemingly toggle between first and third person during this. While driving in first-person, the U.I. appears diegetically on the windshield. You can engage in combat while driving -- AI took over steering as you lean out the window and shoot at enemies. CD Projekt also described Cyberpunk as a "mature experience intended for mature audiences." The goal is for you to not only engage with the game world, but with its inhabitants. Like Witcher, you take missions from NPCs and have dialogue options in conversations. It's an open world that you open up more with "street cred." For example, a specific jacket might raise it by 5%, allowing you access to new places. Completing a quest levels up your street cred. The UI in the demo is extremely minimal at -- just a light compass and a small quest log. UI expands during combat -- enemies have names, health bars, and what appear to be levels. Some enemies have question marks instead of levels, possibly meaning they're much higher level than you. Damage numbers pop up during combat. There's a bullet-time-like ability that allows you to slow down time. CD Projekt keeps emphasizing that choices have consequences, in the moment and to the world at large. Obstacles have several solutions depending on your skills. For example, V got to a door, but his hacking skill was too low. However, his engineering skill was high enough, so he could open a panel and bypass the door. There's an inspection system lets you look super close at items and learn more about lore. You use an inhaler to heal. Gunplay feels slower than Doom or Borderlands, but faster than Fallout 4. CD Projekt showed off some late-game abilities, including mantis-like blade arms and wall running. We saw a boss fight against a dude in an exoskeleton. This included sliding under cars and taking cover.

I also have trouble judging distances and such in Skyrim's TPS mode. Everything about your own character just feels way too rigid. But just out of curiosity: Why is FP such a deal breaker for everyone? I get that it's not ideal but there seem to be quite a few here who go 1st person == no buy. Is it just a matter of principle or are you guys actually having trouble with the perspective (motion sickness and such)? Just curious.

I don't mind that the game is in first person. A lot of games I played where in first person. For instance - One of the game series I played for countless hours is first person. I mean, of course, the Elder Scrolls series. Maybe not every ones "cup of tea", but If you played that game I think you feel instantly comfortable with Cyberpunk. And yes - That game has character creation, and because your character is visible in cut-scenes, the way your character looks is even very important. So for me Cyberpunk being a first person game is no problem at all. Things like sneaking (especially line of sight) and targeting are even more easy in first person. I think that's the reason they have gone for first person.

Slightly more intrigued. Hopefully there's no romance aspect in this game so I don't have to wind up disappointed.

Cyberpunk 2077 being first person really disappointed me. Not nearly enough to make me skip the game like some, good and engaging story is always a priority to me and I did play and enjoy first person games before, still I would much prefer to see my character.
