Only to reveal he'll kill you, everyone and everything you care about later. Such a fine fellow. Don't forget the part where the Inquisitor's life was only in danger because of Solas as well. Thanking him for saving you from the thing that he was responsible for is like thanking an arsonist for putting out the fire they started. Only in danger because of Solas? Last time I checked Corypheus still had his own free will and made decisions that led to not just Solas's plans exploding but his own as well.

Last I checked the thing Solas saved us from was his magic that came from his orb that he gave to Corypheus. Which doesn't make him directly or only responsible for all actions of Corypheus, who made his own choices and had other foul magic at his disposal that he'd use to corrupt and conquer South anyway.

Solas is so interesting, but he is far too world ending to be allowed to exist, even as a wisp.
I'll have to see what the options are.

Last I checked the thing Solas saved us from was his magic that came from his orb that he gave to Corypheus. I mean, heck, last I checked, the only thing Corfishystix did is the thing Solas was going to do anyway. So basically, by screwing it up, the one who really saved the world Corfishystix himself.

Since none of my Canon Quizzy's are F!Lavellans who romanced the Egg, they're all going after him as a foe. Period, end of story.

Save him... From what?
I think we were supposed to save other people from him 😁
Solas is so annoying that he isn't even worth my time, so here's hoping we get to do a lot of other things in addition to egg hunting.

From himself? Nah. From a stab-happy Inquisitor, maybe... For real though, my Adaar is fairly harmless but my Lavellan is a soulless avatar of murder. If she ever became convinced of his divinity (she... uh... thought he was delusional at the end of Trespasser), she’d try to kill him and wear his teeth. Not because of anything he did or is doing, but because she aspires to kill a god and wear them as a trophy. This woman snuck out of camp to duel high dragons with her daggers, since fighting them with any help would be “too unfair to the dragon” and therefore dishonorable. She didn’t even kill the damn dragonlings (yay stealth) because they weren’t “worthy foes”, she just left them to starve. I don’t believe the Dread Wolf is permanently killable, I very much doubt that killing him is a wise idea, and I’d rather play as a new character rather than the Inquisitor. But that Lavellan could probably get the closest to actually killing him.

How can I decide that if I have little knowledge of the situation? All I know is that I won't let him destroy Thedas' current civilization if I can prevent it. Can I prevent it? Even that I don't know yet.
As for the man himself, I like people with a grand vision who remain undeterred by some unpleasantness if the goal is a worthy one. It's just that our goals do not align. Will this cause me to be lenient? Perhaps, but I also know how dangerous such people can be. I've played them myself. So again, perhaps not.

So... Solas doesn't disapprove of blood magic, but he says he doesn't use it because it interferes with his dream-walking stuff (I assume this is because blood magic is more physical and "real" whereas his Fade stuff is more esoteric and removed from the physical world?). What if the only way to stop Solas is with a huuuuuge blood magic ritual, like what the ancient Tevinters used to access the Black City? 🤔
It would certainly be... something... if we had to choose between people dying in the fiery chaos versus people dying in a mass blood sacrifice. The option is to "stop Solas at all costs" after all.

I think that would be taking the "grey" morality a bit too far. Besides, since Solas doesn't object to the use of blood magic morally, who is to say he doesn't need all those elves in order that they can open him a way into the Fade by a blood magic ritual? I must admit that bit where he says he doesn't use it because it blocks the Fade was a bit odd considering bloodshed has always been the means in the past of thinning the Veil. Demons find it easier to come through at the sites of old battles or other places were death has been commonplace, like the city of Kirkwall and particularly the Gallows (it always seemed absurd to me the Chantry would choose an old slave prison for their Circle but may be the Senior Enchanters wanted to be there because the Veil was thinner). Corypheus and Co specifically used a massive blood sacrifice in other to open the way to the Black City but may be that was tapping into something different without them realising it. Last Flight introduced the idea that blood magic was tapping into something other than the Fade for its power, even though demons still seemed to be attracted to the blood mage. So may be what Corypheus' ritual did was specifically to open the path to the Black City, by-passing the Fade altogether.

It's morally grey, but it strikes me as about the same level of awful as Shepard blowing up the Alpha Relay (and consequently killing 300,000 Batarians) in order to save the rest of the galaxy from the Reapers. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I don't think Solas said blood magic blocked the Fade, just that it more difficult to dream-walk? So maybe he works better where the Veil isn't thin (as it would be in Kirkwall), in order to delve deeper into his more Fade-y magics? Like some kind of adaptation to the Veil that's he's made for himself, adjusting to a world where the physical and magical worlds are separate.

Did I miss something about playing the Inquisitor? Why is everyone suddenly hyped for it?
I think the Inquisitor losing an arm was a clear sign that he/she will not be the playable hero in the next game.

I think the Inquisitor losing an arm was a clear sign that he/she will not be the playable hero in the next game. People are just hopeful. For myself, I'd rather go for a new protagonist. The Inquisitor can become one of the advisors, perhaps along with Cullen, Cassandra, Leliana and Josephine. I don't think I ever saw an ending where Vivienne is the Divine. If Divine, is she also a member of the cabal at the end?

So, I've been consistently forgetting who is in the cabal at the end. Probably because I've had so few playthroughs. Inquisitor, Cassandra, Leliana and Harding. Good group, even if two of them are spies. Technically, Harding is a scout but I think spy suits her. I think this crew is more than willing to go after Solas and hope to see them all in DA4.
