Hint for making qunari women that are reasonably pretty or at least not cringe worthy is to take away all eyeshadow and makeup

Dwarves!
Dwarves are my favorite fantasy race, and I definitely enjoy the Dragon Age take on the race. If the Dragon Age series makes it to six games, I plan on having four canon heroes be dwarves!

Make that three dwarves! I still love them the best, but I previewed some character creation videos for Divinity Original Sin 2, and it looks like I will spread the dwarf love to an additional title as well (added to my dwarf Arisen and Main Pawn in Dragon's Dogma). I will make one extra Qunari (DA unique race) to fill in one of my dwarf slots.
Still, depending on how things turn out, perhaps I will have to start referring to the series as Dwarf Age.

Elves all the way, all the time! Bull can come too. He has knife-ears after all... I also find elven females easiest to make in the CC. --- In all seriousness I probably have as many humans as elves, but let bygones be bygones...

Let's see... Out of complete playthroughs of DA:O I have: 2 elves (1 female Mahariel, 1 female Tabris) 2 dwarves (1 female Aeducan and 1 female Brosca) 4 humans (male and female Couslands + male and female Amells) So I tended to favor humans in that game but not by much. DA2 you obviously must be a human. In DA:I I will count all the characters I've made, not just complete playthroughs, and so I have: 2 dwarves (1 male, 1 female) 5 elves (4 female, 1 male) 6 humans (3 female, 3 male) 2 Qunari (1 male, 1 female) And so humans have a slight edge as well, though I swear I prefer elves overall. But it's interesting to note that when I play a male character, I'm more likely to make him human. With female characters, they can be any race, and I'll still enjoy playing their story. But it's harder for me to connect to a male dwarf or male Qunari for whatever reason. They are just too alien in both race and gender, haha. I'm probably going to make another male elf to romance Cassandra, I think. And maybe another female Qunari and female dwarf. We'll see. P.S. Class wise in DA:I I have 5 mages, 6 warriors, and 4 rogues. And I swear I love mages most of all, not warriors. Warrior is actually my least favorite class. What is wrong with me? XD

In DAI I rp'd Elves the most, in DAO it was Dwarfs, but I give all the races a try with Human being the race I'm least interested in playing. I'm currently playing a lady Qunari and she is awesome. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, "You can't make me choose!"

For me it's female elves most of the times i just love elves. And when it comes to profession it's Elf - Mage i love that combination and second is Elf - Rogue.

I've at least stuck out a Dwarf noble in DAO, still haven't fully committed to a Qunari DAI run tho. I will have to attempt again someday, just enjoy my humans/elves too much.

Played the origin stories of the dwarves in DA:O to see how they are, but not much more than that. First play in DA:I was a qunari two-handed fighter though Loved that race, though I'd rather they give me the option of playing an actual qunari who follows the Qun (wasn't really that possible in DA:I, but maybe in future games).

I didn't think I would choose anything other than human because I'm painfully boring, but seeing how important Elven lore is in the story, I'm excited to give it a chance. Although one thing that deters me from playing as an elf is their lithe bodies, which wouldn't be a problem if they didn't look so oddly proportioned. Someday I will have to give the Dwarves and Qunari a chance, but their story doesn't seem to be integrated well in DA:I. It's there but not quite as important or the driving force for the story.

The spidery build is less obvious on your Inquisitor than it is on the NPCs, due to your equipment. Even at Skyhold, the additional outfits mean you can find one that makes your elf look better. I find that the formal wear makes the male elf look more masculine, while the silk brocade "pajama top" looks flattering on the female elf. That's just my take, but you should be able to find something that works for your character. I'm finally playing my human male two-handed warrior, and it's essentially a first time for all of those things. (I'd played a human before, but not advanced past Skyhold.) I'm enjoying it quite a bit, so far. I tend to hit some fatigue in the latter portions of the game, and find that the elvhen lore sort of refocuses my elf Inquisitors. I'm curious to see how this goes with a human Inquisitor, whether I struggle to stay engaged with the same character for 150 hours.

(I still don't really like elf body shape, even the formal wear don't help so much.) I can't figure out why the male elf does that weird noodle arm thing all the time. It wasn't too bad, but it was humorous and weird. I put it into the same category as "Why does the Inquisitor always slouch?"; and "Why does the Inquisitor cross his/her legs, ankle on knee like a fool, at important moments?" Animations are not DAI's strong suit. The humans look good. Healthy and fit. The Qunari bodies look heroic. In real life, people with bodies like that look good wearing nearly anything. I guess it translates similarly to the game. I want to play a Qunari and dwarf, still, but I also think I need to take a break for a while. I've been sick for a while, so I've been playing the hell out of DAI. I don't want to burn out a good game. I may jump back to DAO and see if it feels like a good time to start a fresh Warden/trilogy run. I just recently switched all of my DAO/Awakening and DA2 stuff from PS3 to Xbox360, so I have to earn all of the Specializations and such all over again. It could be fun, I guess. Otherwise, maybe a break from games for a bit will be good.

Elves. Played the same elf twice in Origins and twice in Inquisition. I blame early exposure to Tolkien. I've completed all the Origins, which technically adds another Elf to the tally, but i got bored of him soon after arriving in Ostagar. The two dwarves i have in waiting seem more fun and a human mage. Hawke doesn't count, and I've played Qunari, elf, human, elf, human in Inquisition, the first human run was unfinished.

I've always preferred playing elves if I can in fantasy games. I have a skinny physique myself so I don't object to their appearance on those grounds. In any case, after an update to my graphics card, the elves look slightly less skinny anyway and male elves look muscular enough if you put them in Dalish scout armour. I didn't really like the DA2 version of the elves as it made them look too alien. The neck was the worst part but I also didn't like the peculiar bridge to the nose. In DAO I have several different elves because of the multiple back stories you have for them. So I started with male Dalish, moved on the female mage, then female city elf and when I went back to the game again, I played a male city elf. I played through as a human noble once, just to experience the different personal story and because there were some interesting perspectives that you don't get as an elf. I also played through the origin sequence, but not the rest of the game, for both dwarf origins. Of the two, I prefer the castless one.
In DAI I started with a female elf mage romancing Solas, then a male elf archer romancing Dorian, a male elf mage romancing Cassandra and then reverted to another male elf archer romancing Dorian. I tried playing a human mage but I got bored with him after the Winter Palace, particularly as I didn't really like the character I had given him.
Next game, if I am allowed to play an elf I will. With elven history having come to the fore and the main villain now an elf, I don't think I could really get invested in another race.

Despite having the game since Day one I've made and completed only 3 Inquisitors.
2 Humans 1 Elf
Been thinking about doing one more, either Female Dwarf, Female Qunari, or Male Elf still undecided

Elf > dwarf > qunari >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> hooman.
Too many elves to count 2 dwarves (see my profile pic, the lady bearded (stubble) dwarf herself!) 2 qunari (never finished one though) 1 stinky human (she smells like bacterial vaginosis)/worst world state

Dwarves and qunari are my favorite races. I've probably played more elves by virtue of having a lot of elven Wardens. Hawke was one of my favorite protagonists despite being human.
I'll say dwarves, though. I tend to go for them first, and with gusto.

About 98% of the time i play as a human. 99% in my case i started a couple of elves but i can't get them to look they way i'd like so they get on my nerves and i revert to human. haven't played in months though, i should put in a run before getting sucked into the Andromeda galaxy.
