Daenerys told Jon last season that her dragons would be the only children she ever had. Plus when she lost Khal Drogo's child due to Mirri Maz Duur the witch's blood magic, it was implied that she might be barren. That's still not absolutely, definitely saying that there is no way she could get pregnant. Mirri is hardly a reliable source of information, Jon mirrored the same sentiment in season 7s last ep.
I knew the Tarly situation would come back and bite Daenerys in the ass. I may be a follower of hers but it doesn't mean I agree with everything she does. She should have had Randall executed by beheading, typical of those of noble birth and had Dickon rethink his life's choices in a prison cell. Execution by dragon is a shit move her father would have done if he had dragons.
Now if this tense situation goes any further, Jon is going to be caught in the middle with his best friend and Daenerys.
I don't think it will go too much further once it occurs to Sam that he can now claim leadership of House Tarly and give Gillie and baby Sam a home. I figure they're the ones Sam is the most concerned with. He'll mourn his father and brother for a bit, he may even resent Dany for awhile, but I don't think it'll last long.

Not sure Sam can make that stick, legally. Unlike Jon, his watch hasn't ended.

I think Sam can get out of the Night's Watch since he's the last male of House Tarly

I think Sam can get out of the Night's Watch since he's the last male of House Tarly Not to mention, there is no more Night's Watch, no more Castle Black and not many people are gonna survive this long night, if anyone does. If Westeros survives this attack, they're gonna need more people to rebuild the cities than they are going to need them at the Wall.

Has the Watch been legally disestablished, though? Someone's got a claim if Sam's not allowed to press his, so it's going to be in someone's interest to bring this up.
Of course, it's probably a moot point. Dany owes Sam one, so she'd probably just play the "screw the laws, I'm the queen" card again if this ever comes up.

Not to mention, now that there's a big breach in the Wall, there isn't much of a point to defend it, because what they were defending it against has just made it to the other side. The Night's Watch has just become obsolete.

Sunday's Game of Thrones should've been named 'I have made a terrible mistake.' Jon, Dany, Jamie, Tyrion, all had this 'look' on their faces when faced with certain revelations or thoughts. I really liked it season 8 is off to a really strong start like I was expecting after kind of a...lacklustre?...season 7. While this episode could bite them in the butt if they have to rush things later they did give us a chance to reorient and breathe and prepare and get to reknow these characters. There was a lot of little good character moments there, characters just talking and meeting each other again after so long apart...and there was some really great moments from Kit Harrington. Also they did kind of make an effort to fix their 'time travel' issues from last season, the Night's Watch is still having to take a while to reach things, Jamie doesen't show up till the end of the episode so he didn't just teleport and the Last Hearth Lord Umber does show that in this situation travel delays can again be...lethal. Oh and I love Dolores Ed being back. Only real issue is the Greyjoy travel time was a bit off, from rescuing Yara to...presumably...being far out at sea again in an eyeblink. And where the hell are the Night's Watch Tormend, Ed, Berric? Are they still on what's leftof the Wall or did they make it to Last Hearth? Theory crafting: I did like it...nay loved it that this ep was the first time that someone actually gave voice to Dany potentially being the Mad Queen. Granted Sam had plenty of reason to hate her in that moment but instead of getting uncomfortable looks we actually get someone voicing their discomfort with some of her actions. I mean she is charasmatic as hell but Sam did bring upa great point. So either this will be something she will finally grow out of, or it could get her killed.
As far as the 'Tyrion the idiot' subplot...this could really be problematic and sure Tyrion was laid in heavily but for the moment I am prepared to call it 'good' writing. After all we have a lot of these characters, Tyrion, Varys, Baelish, who are experts in the Game of Thrones but they aren't prepared for the war they face. Complicating this issue Tyrion is legitimatley trying to play the game of survival...and he had no reason to doubt Cersei...and assume that she would want to survive, he does not know she is still playing the Game of Thrones. I hope he does not betray Danny, which could be what gets him killed...but then maybe Danny is worth betraying at some point.

Ha ha...but I really don't think Jon would blame him, he'd be more happy to see Edd, Tormund and the others alive, than be worried about the Wall. He knew it was gonna fall, he just needed the guys to give him more time, which they did. ...yup...it was good to see they made out ok...for now...shit...who know what's gonna happen to them in the next episode.

I'm also really disappointed that it's been so long since we've last seen Ghost and I'm tired of him being cut out. What if Ghost is there, but he blends in so well with all the snow we can't see him?

He could also be hiding under Jon's giant cloak with the fluffy collar. Heck, maybe Ghost is the fluffy collar!

What if Ghost finally made his way back from the Wall, only to be eaten by Drogon and Rhaegal? (Can't blame the Dothraki if they accidentally fed Ghost to them, Dany did say dragons eat whatever want. It was known!)

He's on his way to see his sister...I know he is. Kind of like Jon is in Winterfell visiting his "sisters & brother". After running into Arye last season, I figure Nymeria has taken to policing the area... That's my thought on it anyway.

I kinda hate how Sansa is being written, gotta say. I liked this video on the subject: Why tho? I think she improved considerably. Has she though? She whines less I suppose. She’s still petty, has a cruel streak, acts like she’s the smartest person in any room despite lacking any real examples of such cunning. The’ve been remarkably clumsy with trying to demonstrate that supposed intelligence. Last season they had her point out that the soldiers were improperly preparing for winter, but that ends up looking like the soldiers being stupid rather than her being smart. Littlefinger’s demise is played like her winning over him, but really Bran’s the one that won with the power of magical insight he couldn’t possibly counter. Characters like Tyrion are left holding the idiot ball in an effort to make her look smarter. At other time’s she’s left saying things everyone else already knows, but it’s played as character growth because she was so naive in early seasons.
