My first time Origins, I did recruit Zevran but he turned on me. I killed Wynne as well and never even noticed Sten. Or the dog. Romanced Alistair as a human noble but he dumped my ass for not being able to have kids. That game was a mess

The first time I played Origins, Zevran turned on me because I didn't talk to him or use him enough, I unwittingly managed to get Isolde and Connor killed and every conversation with Morrigan turned into a complete and utter disaster.

In my first PT, I accidentally left Jowan in the cell, supposing, I will back for him, when it safe, and let him go... It not happened... he was his best friend in the Circle. Okay. In my next PT, I took Jowan with me to help us, supposing, I will let him go after... I was wrong again. In the following PTs my Warden always let him go. Perhaps this is the only metaknowledge-decision, what I will do in my every future PTs, shamelessly. For my first character, and for their friendship, and because of he wanted to fix things and redeem himself, and there's no any other option to give him a chance. It's really sux, the Warden can't recruit him at least, like did Anders.

Metaknowledge is the only reason I’ve ever spared Zevran. For my new and ‘canon’ (at least for now) playthrough, I killed him while he was unconcious. After all the other assassins, mooks, and other assorted plotters who I’ve killed, why should this elf be any different to my Warden? To be fair, Zevran's the only situation where you're depicted going back and killing someone who's actually unconscious after a fight. So why go the extra step to kill him despite him already being neutralized (unlike, presumably, most of the other bandits and such who we might therefore assume also don't always die). If it's because he knows you're a Grey Warden and was apparently waiting with a trap, why not, therefore, find out what he knows?

It amuses me how in Dragon Age Inquisition I get introduced to Cullen and Josephine AFTER the cutscene where we're all standing together on the chantry steps.
Were they stood there thinking "Who is this?"?

I thought we'd met commander Cullen when we climbed the mountain to the explosion site. ow you mention it, it's funny we'd be posing with Jose prior to an introduction. She wasn't in the room during the shadowy convo with Lel and Cass I guess? Guess not.

When you go on the faster route, turn right to the small camp after loading screen. There's a chest with dagger and shield you would find in mountain path. The only downside is probably not getting some codex entry, but hey, we have wiki for that stuff, no?

My warden Amell came back for him when he became a tranquil (hope he didn't die) and saved him from the mage and Templar war... like the selfless person she is..

After finishing the main story and JOH with my mage Adaar, I find my interest in my rogue Trevelyan waning, enough that I'm not sure I'll finish Trespasser with her. I've been wanting to replay Trespasser with my mage Lavellan (who romanced Solas) instead. Or make a new character entirely (I have a male character in mind for a Dorian romance, not sure if he'll be a human or elf yet though).

Today I learned that Templar Carrol was lyrium addled then went and became a Red Templar mook.
I feel a bit sad by this. he was such a cheeky smartass with a love for cookies. Put a face to the mooks for the first time, pretty much, far more sympathetic than Fugly Samson.

And I really don't know if I should make it worse by telling you that; We actually fought and killed Carroll in Inquisition.
He was the Red Templar knight that you can lure to the Pavilion in the Emerald Graves with a "Draw out the Red Templar lieutenant" war-table mission. If you completed it with Cullen, he's mentioned by name in the report, which concludes with;
"Do what is necessary to stop him, but for my sake, make it quick. I knew him once, a long time ago"

He was so... Addled in a nice way, I bet he didn't know red lyrium would even do what it did to him. Trusting everything everyone said to him was the truth, I bet. And he does look rather young to BE addled in the first place- perhaps because his addiction had him taken more at a quick rate than others than waited for their dispensations.

Wait, was he already addled in Origins? He seemed so young I didn't even realize - I just thought he was a bit of an odd duck. Now I feel bad for laughing at him after Sten bribed him with cookies

It's always unpleasant fighting Red Templars, especially after doing the Champions of the Just mission. There were so many Templars that had no idea what was going on and that Barris gets killed if you don't save him...

Trusting everything everyone said to him was the truth, I bet. And he does look rather young to BE addled in the first place- perhaps because his addiction had him taken more at a quick rate than others than waited for their dispensations. Replaying Origins always makes me sad when I run into Carroll, he seems like a genuinely sweet and well-meaning guy, who probably never meant to become a lyrium addict. Even if he was only starting to show signs of being addled in Origins, it's sad that he went downhill in the decade since and ended up another victim of the Red Lyrium. It's always unpleasant fighting Red Templars, especially after doing the Champions of the Just mission. There were so many Templars that had no idea what was going on and that Barris gets killed if you don't save him... Cullen summed up the tragedy of Red Templars best; "I might have known some of them. If my life had gone differently - I might have been one of them"(Samson, Carroll and Paxley were all people that Cullen worked with who became Red Templars. Meredith too, in a way) You have to feel sorry for the Templars who tricked into taking Red Lyrium, because some definitely were mislead into thinking that it was safe to use and would help the Templars defeat the mage rebellion. Cole (and a note you find) at Darwin's Mouth even says as much; "A Templar at Therinfal Redoubt. He wanted to make the world safe for his daughter. Then he turned red inside. She doesn't know."Am I the only one who really hopes that Barris escaped Therinfal when the Red Templars took over? I know it's wishful thinking, but there's no confirmation that he was actually killed and we never see a Red Templar with his name appear. It'd be nice to imagine he got out of there safely and could show up again in the future.

When the Circle/Chantry refused the help her, he chose the beggar life for the orphans, she didn't want more power over anyone, just wanted the protect them. So easy to fall.) Or perhaps his leader (It was still Gregoire? Or he joined another rebel group?) followed that way and forced the others to take it. To leave the "Order"? It's easy to say, but perhaps he still believed this serves the good. People are weird and easy to be misled. It's no matter how well-meaning they seem. (I do not remember him in the Inquisition. I will watch.)

I confess - while others argue over Loghain being traitor, unworthy for being a Warden, being too far gone, or being useful as ex-general etc... ...the only reason I kill him is Anora's pre-battle speech. I don't need to hear it. Ever. Again.

Well... I recall the first time I played Origins. Upon clicking on my dog, a cut scene played with Morrigan; who was disgusted the dog left a putrid half-eaten hare in her unmentionables. I did not have the captions on. So, I was really boggled by this because, I thought of the word h-a-i-r not h-a-r-e. I am thinking: what did the dog do throw-up a bunch of hair? Steal some?!? It was not till my second or third play-through I realized, it was a bunny. Gawd! Talk about feeling like a complete dumb-ass.

I confess that when I play as a City elf I always side with the werewolves and kill the dalish clan. It's amusing.
Because I can't bring myself to play as a Dalish elf as I would rather spend my time exterminating them, but if I could (play as one) I would do the same and side with the werewolves, that would give me godhood.
