Come tomorrow morning, I'll be heading to the theater to see Blade Runner 2049. Just got done listening to the soundtrack, awesome. I just saw it. 9/10 Before you wonder, YES I am a fanatic for the original. (It is in my top 3 all-time films) Yes, I went into the theater with a proverbial "baseball bat", ready to bash any references or homages to the original or action/sci-fi cliches. Yes I am a fan of Villeneuve As to the question if this film is as good as the critics say, could it be that this flick is a worthy successor to the 1982 classic future-noir? Great movie, gave it a 9/10. Worthy successor. I'm by no means a fanatic of the first one, good movie and all. Like Joi and Luv. I like movies that make you think, must be that, ugh I hate using this phrase, older generation thing. I saw this two times and the theater was far from pact. The people there were mostly my generation or older, very few young people. Guess not enough mindless action. Any how back to thinking. Did the Joi AI really develop feelings for K or was it all part of the programming?
Did Joi transfer her consciousness to Mariette during their combining during that sex scene? Towards the end when K was healing, Mariette seem concerned about K unlike when she left his apartment like a paid tramp.
Rather disappointed at the mind fuck that K went through at the end.

Rather disappointed at the mind fuck that K went through at the end. Don't be ashamed to say that millennials are mostly pea-brained dolts, it is known. They have short attn spans and cannot handle a long, deep film with adult themes, for adults Also; of course the AI didn't "fall in Love" with K anymore than it meant anything it said. it isn't supposed to be on the same level as the replicants. That character was more a jab at the audience & our affection for our phones, gadgets & general tech addiction/delusion than an actual necessary piece of the plot. I still enjoyed her

Could be true about Joi, but is an AI willing to go so far as to merge with a physical being to see what sex is and/or to please the person who purchased her? And the look Joi gave Mariette, it seemed like jealousy. I saw the movie twice, the first time is basically to see what it is about. Viewings after that I tend to pay attention to the little details. This was one of those little details that caught my attention.

That's like saying it was a shock when the cars in a chase scene were able to reach high speeds

Centurion starring Michael Fassbender is an enjoyable low budget B movie. It's completely historically inaccurate for that period in Roman Britain with B-movie level plot and cheesy dialogue but if you can ignore this what remains is an enjoyable low budget simple action/chase movie. Just remember to switch off your brain, it's a B-movie. The wilderness scenery and landscape shots are a highlight. As I've already said the story, history and dialogue are mostly complete bollocks but I found that I enjoyed the chase and action despite this. It's cliched nonsense if you don't like B-movies, but if you do it's worth a look. Good and enjoyable for what it is, a simple, no frills, cheesy B-movie.

One of my childhood faves......the movie feels more like a comic book/video game than a serious accurate historical war movie, maybe that's why I like it. It's more of a spy/action/adventure than anything else. One of the best intro's ever with an awesome theme/score and of course the villains are exceptionally bad shots (similar to Star Wars stormtroopers). Always had that theme playing in my head in the shuttle sequences in Mass Effect.
Steven Spielberg said that this is his favourite war movie and Quentin Tarantino said "This is my favorite guys-on-a-mission movie".
Insertion
Clint Eastwood (Dual Wielding)
Extraction. Nice chase sequence and I like the use of and camera work with the plane.

Just saw HULK:Ragnarok 7.5/10 This movie is tailor-made for Marvel nerds. Don't go into this expecting Civil War or anything serious or really dramatic. It's a fun popcorn flick, I was giggling about some of the quips between Banner & Thor all the way home. I have a feeling the MCU won't be this lighthearted again any time soon...

Always had that theme playing in my head in the shuttle sequences in Mass Effect. I have often seen that Nazi castle - which is Festung Hohenwerfen -, from the highway which runs past it not too far away, and I climbed the mountains behind it. A very impressive building at an equally impressive location.

One of my favorite war movies, Zulu.
Chronicling the events of the defense of Rorke's Drift, the movie follows roughly 150 British defenders as they hold out against a massive Zulu force of nearly 4,000 warriors. Against truly terrifying odds, the defenders valiantly stood their ground long enough for a relief force to come to their aid.

Gladiator: I really like Proximo in this film. In this his last film (he died on location, before completing the film) Oliver Reed puts in a tremendous performance. There's a real energy and chemistry in his scenes with Russell Crowe. This is a great speech...........

Judging by the trailers, I thought Aquaman was going to be the class clown, but instead it went to the Flash's lameness. I prefer the darkness of Man of Steel and BvS.

The darkness of BvS didn't make it any less trash though, or SAVE MARTHA any less hilarious.
Personally I thought The Flash was the only particularly decent thing in the movie. Wonder Woman was alright, but not much is really gotten out of this character here. Still, I don't know how much longer this franchise can withstand this abuse.

Saw the Last Jedi. One thing that bothered me was about Leia. Since Carrie is no longer with us they had the perfect opportunity for Leia to go out in a blaze of glory. They could have edited the film so she was the one who stayed behind to take control of the ship, and later on be the one who did the suicide run to save her people during the battle. Or they could have just let her die when the bridge was destroyed. Now we are left with how are they going to explain her non appearance in the next movie.
