I... think I'll have to say Hawke. Sarcastic and aggressive one in particular. While DA2 has many problems like lackluster story, limited roleplay, etc. Hawke has an actual personality and can be outright entertaining. I like it how the delivery of some lines depends entirely on what sort of tone you favored most in the game. Hawke pretty much took on his/her own personality and grew into his/her own character. I couldn't make Hawke "my own" the same way I could Warden but these elements are just the reasons which caused Hawke to stand out. In fact, my first Warden was kind of all over the place while my first Hawke managed to become a consistent character.

Hawke, no contest. A normal person with no special powers, just trying to do their level best to protect their family in a situation that they were thrown into, and then receiving shit for it in the end. I love their journey from refugee, to champion, to fugitive by the end of the game. I have two Wardens and three Inquisitors (the third just barely started, though). I like my two full-playthrough Inquisitors more than my Wardens by a longshot. I think it helps that the Inquisitor is voiced, though. Had the Wardens been voiced, then they might edge out the Inquisitors, because it just seems like there are a greater variety of dialogue options for the Wardens. The poll is closed now but I would vote for Hawke as well. Had so much fun with them, and loved playing my sarcastic Hawke and my diplomatic Hawke. Having a family tied to my character was surprisingly nice, I really loved having both Bethany and Carver around Miss having that kind of relationship with anyone in DA:I. Just felt that my 1:st Quizzy was quite lonely in the world even if she had some friends and a lover. Having my PT afflicted with the banter-bugg didn't help you miss quite a lot of the team-spirit then.

I liked Hawke as a protagonist but I seriously disliked the rest of the game, so i voted Inquisitor.

No, bloody no to the Warden being voiced. I remember the disaster that was online KOTOR. NO. Just no. I don't care if people agree with you, but the Warden being voiced would've wrecked DA:O and we would've been left with a clone that is the Inquistor. No.

Why bring up whether people agree with me or not? I'm not looking for a consensus on something that is purely my opinion. It's my opinion (one expressed quite some time ago, in fact) that I would have preferred the Warden to the Inquisitor had the Warden been voiced. Maybe I'm reading your tone wrong, but...it really seems like you need to relax.

I can't rank any of them when it comes to preference. XD At one moment, I'm thinking that Hawke is the best because you can shape them in any way you want and actually see the change happening before you - you choose diplomatic responses, his comments become diplomatic or he has the option to boost morale when in a tight spot, or calm down an angry elf. You choose sarcastic and charming, you become the life and soul of the party. Blunt/Aggressive - woe to anyone crossing their path. And their interactions with the companions seemed a lot more real in the sense that they weren't limited to camps or hubs - they could also intervene in companion banters, for example. And their facial animation were a treat compared to the stoic Warden (Their look when Aveline gives the copper relief is priceless. XD) At the next moment, however, I have such a soft spot for the Warden. From the six origins, four of them depict characters who are either isolated from the rest of the world and/or treated with contempt and disdain because of their humble heritage. The other two had greatness, and yet they lost it due to betrayal. And yet, in all six cases, you have the chance to make them the heroes they're destined to be and save an entire country. Sure, as I said, the facial animation is limited, but I nevertheless like the fact that they're voiceless, it gives the player the chance to imagine the 'tone' of the answer in their own mind. And, naturally, you can kind of fill in the blanks in their backstory and their reaction in some events, making one's Warden feel like it's *their* character. And then Quizzie... they manage to be a combination of both Hawke and the Warden. Again, you kind of fill in the blanks in their backstory, and the chance for headcanon makes the player feel their Inquisitor unique to them; you also have interactions with companions that aren't limited to the Hub. Granted, the tone isn't as varied as Hawke's, and there's no 'evolution' of their characterisation if you keep choosing diplomatic/witty/blunt, whereas the relationships don't feel as close (it feels like a group of professionals working together than actual companions), but I still find myself getting attached to them. Naturally, the fact that all three of them have their moments of badassery doesn't help their case at all. So... I'm only voting after going the scientific method of 'eeny meeny' and it's the Warden. XD

I find it really difficult to choose. I went with the Warden, mostly because I found them easiest to roleplay. My six wardens all have completely different personalities. But I also really like Hawke. Awesome voice actors, strong personality and lots of hilarious moments.

FOr me Hawke is the best of all. Despite me hating to play humans (softened up on this a bit, I like my Treveyan and my Amell), if other options are available, Hawke is just such a fun character to play. The Inquisitor is close second and the Warden last. I like the origins in DAO and would love to have that back, but I find Hawke and Inqui more fleshed out - maybe it has to do with voice acting (I love both female Hawke va and the female british one, can't say much for the male or american ones, since I didn't play them yet, but from youtube video I get, that they are good too), maybe it has to do with a better character writing, I don't know. And I do like the warden, if any game feels like old Baldurs Gate, it's DAO, but I like the other two a bit more

I enjoyed playing as the Inquisitor the most. Although Trevelyan lacked the personality of Sarcastic Hawke, I felt as that though the story was my own as I played through Inquisition. Not once did I feel like a passenger to someone else's preestablished narrative.
Being a leader that the highest positions of authority respected was also great. (To varying degrees depending on race and class)
Inquisition was the first time in Dragon Age I felt the need to try out every race, class, and play as a lady.
