Oh. Does anyone know of there is a mod for grey hairs in Blackwall hair? I looked the other day and no dice.

Haven't done the Blackwall romance, but as I recall one of the flirt options for him is something like "You're strangely charming" and I'd say that's about right. Unromanced I did feel his story kind of petered out a bit after his personal quest, but Trespasser fixed that. I like how he's even called Thom Rainier in the interface.

There's a lot of tiny easter eggs that reference his romance if you look for them. Like with the Hissing Wastes banter if Varric and Bull are not in your party.

Methinks this is a good example of why he got the nickname "Ser Beefcakes" from some fans.

Silly question on black wall
Do Stroud or the other warden accompanying us realize he's not really a warden? He's wandering the countryside while the rest are being called for the sacrifice or is this just a convenient oversight. Examples-crestwood wardens hunting but ignore him and quizzy doesn't use him in trying to convince other wardens (quizzes can this for the Val roxeaux templars)

Examples-crestwood wardens hunting but ignore him and quizzy doesn't use him in trying to convince other wardens (quizzes can this for the Val roxeaux templars) I think it was a culmination of several factors. None of the Wardens had seen Blackwall for several years and so it was assumed he'd either died or gone rogue. The Wardens have more important things to do and worry about, than check a gadabout Warden's credentials. Rainier was an experienced soldier, competed in the Grand Melee (and won), so he had the fighting prowess expected for a Warden-Constable. He matched a rough description of Blackwall. As he confirms to Sera, the reason he grew his beard was to better impersonate the Warden. The False Calling prevented any Wardens from being able to sense the lack of corruption in his system. Regarding that last point, we know the Wardens have the ability to sense the Darkspawn taint. They typically exploit this ability to sense Darkspawn, but this ability also extends to other Wardens and individuals who've contracted the taint. However because the False Calling was forcing all of the Wardens to hear the song and triggering this vibe in them constantly, it seems to have scrambled their radar and prevented them from sensing who was and wasn't corrupted.

I've heard he interacts with Alistair, but I've only ever had Stroud.

Heeeeyyyy... a Blackwall fan thread. Awsome.
Though I don't romance him, really like his character. He certainly is my bread and butter tank (meaning as a staple crew on my adventuring party) and I guess being a goody two shoes, my Lavellan will always knocks high approval points from him.
What I like best about him is that he sorta started out as a self serving jerk, but eventually come around and really tries hard to make amends. Helping the helpless until the IQ shows up to recruit him.
The only thing I don't like about him isn't because of his character portrayal or anything. It's just that I kinda felt a good chunk of his interaction is placed in the beginning of his story arc and not so much 'meat' nearing the end. Especially post 'Revelations' I'd love to have more moments addressing / discussing and working it out with him and our shocked friends (maybe something along the line like how you can bridge the friendship between Varric and Cas) that's just pretty much it. Not sure if the romancers agree with me or not on this, but this is what I felt while befriending him.

I've only done a Blackwall Romance playthrough once, so I don't really recall - but I kind of agree. I really, *really* like him I just wish he were more chatty. By the time you've accidentally guilted him into coming clean and turning himself in, he's in such a low place that he gets even MORE taciturn than normal. Old guys can be like that, I guess.

Blackwall is my main warrior in group. I always get him as soon as possible. I just love that first cutscene where he saves Inquisitor's life (arrow in a head... what a stupid death by the hand of common low-level bandit!). And while he's not that chatty, he has his moments, both with companions and with more sarcastic Inquisitor. And he has some of the best quotes:
"What can one Warden do?" "Save the fucking world if pressed." (Actually, that's one of the few things he got right about Wardens)

Would be hilarious if, in Sera's word, the Herald if Andraste got 'an arrow to your face'. Thank the Maker we have Blackwall to spare us from that embarassment I love it how in Tresspasser we'd get to call him 'Thom'. It feels like he's finally has come to terms with his past. Regret will always be there, for certain. He stopped running away from himself and use the remaining years of his life in dedicating to help others. And I love that he's back being friends with Cullen And thank you modders out there who moded the inquisition Light/Med/Heavy armor schematics into a T3/T4 schematics. After Revelations, it's only fair to plaster the Inquisition logo on his adventuring gear

I intend to romance him twice. That's saying something.

After Revelations, it's only fair to plaster the Inquisition logo on his adventuring gear In a similar vein, this is why I always tint his armour and shield with Obsidian. Not only because of the fun play on his name, (he's effectively a "Black Wall" between enemies and the part), but making him appear as a " Black Knight" nicely foreshadows the truth about his identity and troubled past we learn about in "Revelations". (Yeah, I overthought my character's colour schemes a bit)

pitty he dies if he is made truly a grey warden, wanted to made him my main canon romance, for my female, but that kinda turns me off.
i know there are other options but the guy praise wardens, and he wants to be a warden, i see no reason in my mind to deny him that.
i guess i'll go no romance, or do the typical one and go for Cullen.

I'm finishing Trespasser with Blackwall romancing my Qunari Mage- I freaking LOVE his romance with her. I wish they'd fix some of the scenes where she's suddenly shorter than him, but the whole thing has been really adorable and wonderful. He's a great romance.

Just sharing some beardless Blackwall with my elf. ...who for some reason changed from her phancy dress into her Dalish rags for the final dance with him. I don't know, for some reason I just like that scene better when the Quizzy has her armor on. Especially the Dalish armor. Edit: adding some snuggles Congratulations on your face, ser. I'm torn between his default and no-beard looks. I think I'd prefer the beard version for the base game and beardless for trespasser. He looks great either way though
