Or is Hawke the only one who gets a happy epilogue? I mean, a mage, elf or dwarf romancing Alistair gets totally shafted, the reason my warden refused his night in the tent and then let Loghain live and made Alistair marry Anora, I mean he totally stabs her in the back. If Loghain dies he dumps her for being a mage, elf or dwarf and makes up a stupid excuse and if Loghain lives he completely turns on the Warden, choosing revenge over her and blames her when he was standing there with a sword in his hand but wouldn’t act for himself and he agrees to marry Anora with very little fuss and if he dumps you he acts like he is the injured party. OK, with that little rant over, my Warden is important to me.
In inquisition, the inquisitor suffers, depending on who they pick, Dorian chooses Tevinter over the inquisitor, despite the fact that the inquisitor was the only man to want a relashonship with him, several of the others he just ends up separated from them all the time, knew I should have stuck with Josephine.
Hawke on the other hand, unless she romances Anders and bumps him off or romances Sebastian and doesn’t bump off Anders, has her LI stick with her or him.
Should our characters really be shafted in love just because because of who they choose? In the 4th game I really want to see a happy end for all romances based on your actions, like you only get a rotten end that leaves you feeling very grieved if you do something to cause it.
Also, I think the Warden and Inquisitor get it rough at the end if they are an elf, Danish, mage, it seems that all their friends just vanish and don’t give a fig about them. I mean my Warden helped save her friend, was conscripted into the wardens against her will, was forced to gulp dark spawn blood or be stabbed, then had a useless fop pile all the responsibilities on her. She had been in the circle since she was tiny, the blight was the only outside life she had ever known and yet at the end all her friends go, bye, going home now, you enjoy life as a grey Warden, you know that life you didn’t want, don’t want. This girl has no life skills, all these people are, we love you and yet she just gets abandoned.
My inquisitor who is Dalish, gave up everything for the inquisition, his home, culture, faith, family, friends, I mean this guy should not even know how to walk up and down stairs, open doors or speak English, his clan was his whole world. Then at the end, his boyfriend chooses his country over him, the chantry dump on him and everyone buggers off to leave him to fend for himself in a world he is now isolated in and his only path is to follow a mad God elf.
Hawke on the other hand, unless she makes enemies of her companions, has everyone plus stick by her. It seems so unfair.
And why wasnt my Dalish inquisitor Irish? That voice really bugs me.
Anyone else have comparisons of how their characters were treated that makes them salty?

Seems like you have had bad luck/made the "wrong" choices. I would argue that the only one, who gets a truly happy ending is my warden.
My warden's are either a noble human (so they marry him) or harden him, so they remain his mistress after he takes the throne. So they have a happy ending.
My Hawke is screwed, because I like Anders' romance so much.
And my Lavellan gets Solas. So in the words of Varric "Well, shit."
I would say, that if you want the traditional happiness, then in DAO Alistair needs to be hardened King and you have to do the dark ritual, in DA2 I would go for Fenris and side with templars and in DA:I I would say Cullen or Sera.
As for the voices, I love them, but that is a taste thing. And not all dalish have a irish accent - that's mostly just Merrill. Think of Zathian in DA:O (Dalish Keeper), he was played by an american actor (Tuvok from Star trek Voyager).

Zevran is still running around with a romanced Warden as of Inquisition, and Leliana, Morrigan, and Alistair all speak fondly of the Warden and express the desire to be reunited with them again if they're in love. Those seem like pretty happy endings to me?
Most of Hawke's friends scatter to the four winds after DA2, so I'm not sure what you mean by "they stick by her" - during the course of the game they do, and they're loyal and they love Hawke, but you could say the same about the Inquisitor's friends sticking by their side until eventually their lives lead them in other directions.
A romanced Inquisitor is important to Dorian, but he's got a huge heart and a deep-seated sense of right and wrong, especially after associating with a high-approval Inquisitor. He wants to change his country for the better. Can't really do that just chillin' in Ferelden.
Unhardened King Alistair really isn't the type of guy to have an extramarital affair, so if you've set him up with Anora, are you really surprised you get dumped? Dude really doesn't want to be King. You put him in the position of Duty First, so that's what happens. If he's hardened he's willing to cede that life isn't always flowers and rainbows and is willing to take on a mistress. As King, he can only marry a human noblewoman who isn't a mage.
Al will kill Loghain himself if you choose him as your champion during the Landsmeet. (Of course, Anora won't marry him then. Dude just chopped off her father's head in front of her.)
I'm glad that there's variety, and certain choices lead to different outcomes. And sometimes it's just about the story the writers want to tell (Morrigan running off at the end of DAO, Dorian returning to Tevinter, Sebastian demanding Anders's death).

Romance Zevran; do the Dark Ritual or sacrifice Alistair or Loghain, and Zevran stays with your Warden forever and ever, and you both go off adventuring. It's very sweet. Never cared much for Alistair, so I usually marry him off to Anora.
I think it's good to have a variety of romances, and potential outcomes for different kind of players with different tastes. Not every story has to be happily ever after. Personally, I want a story where the characters have major obstacles to overcome if they want to be together, or a straight up tragedy. The Solas romance is particularly good for this, as it's left open ended, with him still in love with the Inquisitor, but sacrificing everything for what he thinks is the greater good. It makes me ache inside to think about it (when I'm not pissed off about it XD).

Hawke only really gets a happy ending in Inquisition. Having to go into exile AGAIN after all they suffered trying to make a new home in Kirkwall was pretty grim. Even worse if you do the whole "romance Anders then kill him" thing like I did!
I think my Inquisitor got a relatively happy ending with Josephine, really.
My dwarf warden died, but at least he became a paragon and his family were doing well. No love interest to worry about.

I like, that Hawke got happy end romances, s/he had much shit in his/her life to deserve some happiness.
True Sebastian's romance has some cost (Anders must be executing, and I don't know, Hawke must be Viscount or not, I suppose to betray Bethany is unworthy), but I suppose who love Sebastian, happily pay these costs.
Hawke's Viscount title is very bitter. (Perhaps s/he must turn against his/her fellows, or Bethany, and kill his/her lover... And the Templars finally betray him/her, and s/he forced to exile too, this is the reason for his/her "mysterious disappearance")
Anders' romance can be tragic, but even can be happy, I'm very satisfied with this romance. After Inquisition they reunited, and find a home. I don't think, that Hawke would return to Kirkwall without Anders...
With Fenris/Merrill Hawke returns to Kirkwall, I suppose. With Isabela? Perhaps. Kirkwall has a big beautiful port. ___
Warden can be Queen with Alistair (true, this have some cost: s/he MUST perform the dark ritual)
The Warden can be Prince Consort with Anora (true, perhaps this has some cost: he perhaps sacrifice his love relationship, and friendship with Alistair – not necessarily)
Warden and Zevran may stay together, even if the Warden marries with Anora.
Hardened King Alistair and Warden able to continue their love relationship.
Warden and Morrigan can be happy and grow their (Old God) son together (Inquisition!Morrigan), if the Warden follows her through the Eluvian. And they will reunion after this shit ended, and Warden finished his task.
Perhaps, Leliana leaves Warden but finally, they can live together, even if Leliana become Divine. ___
The Inquisitor also get some happy end romance: Sera and Cullen marry with the Inquisitor for example, and Bull and the Inquisitor still meet, when they have time.
Divine Cassandra is not really a happy end romance but depends on the viewpoint...
"Bye, I will call you!" Dorian's romance is just a disappointment, but who knows... I not really hope. We'll see.

Well, my Hawke is in the belly of a demon in the fade, so... happy ending for me that didn't like Hawke, not much for the character. At least Alistair (I hope) will return to my Tabris warden. So for Morrigan and my Brosca. Surely I'd like to see more chance to have different endings with every romance in the future: I'd like to have the fluffy romances like Cullen have a chance to have a tragedy ending depending on choice, and a happy ending for romances like Solas, always depending on choice. Having only certain romances ending happily lend to make them feel "right", and "wrong" the others. I think every romance should have different endings just like other part of the game have. Like I can decide if the templar/mages I recruit will be free, under arrest, or totally disbanded, I'd like to see the same romance ending in a different way depending on my choces.

The only character in DA that I have played to the end of each game with a happy love story ending was one of my Hawkes, who stayed with Anders to lead the Revolution, with all the passion of their burning hearts till they both be consumed.
My second Hawke died and left Fenris bereaved. Too bad for Fenris, I suppose, the guy has troubles with the whole family thing.
My Warden was estranged from Alistair due to her race & my unwillingness to tell Alistair to man up and accept that the world is a screwed up place.
My Inquisitor who respectfully gave his lover all the space he'd asked for, was put on hold for two years. Then Dorian came back to say he is leaving for good, but will try to keep in touch (thanks, D, I love you too).
My second Warden was on her way to the Ultimate Sacrifice ending. My second inquisitor was on her way to saying: "thanks, oh ye mighty strapping fellows. Upon much consideration given to your... erm... virtues, I have decided to stay single" and cry into her pillow over Dorian nightly.
So, yes, I do not have a good track record in the Happy Endings department. My protagonists probably hate me.

Am glad that the tragic story of my Hawke's final days with Anders is at least aesthetically pleasing (j/k, those two were exactly the stuff I play the game romances for).

I romanced Zevran, Fenris, and Bull as my canons. I think all three are fairly happy endings.
You can't blame the game for who you (OP) picked, especially since you play a female character, and they historically have the most love interest choices in Dragon Age.
DAO: You could've chosen Leliana or Zevran = happy ending DA2: You could've chosen Merrill, Isabela, or Fenris = happy ending DAI: You could've chosen Sera, Josephine, Cullen, Blackwall, or Bull = happy ending

My female Amell Warden hardened Alistair and remained his mistress. The situation isn't ideal, but they can accept that they won't be getting anything more.
My male Hawke spared Anders and went on the run with him. He knew there would be a price and he gladly pays it.
My male Trevelyan encouraged Bull to leave the Qun, and they travel together frequently when Trevelyan isn't helping with the College of Enchanters.
Happy endings for all three of them. Just a few caveats.

Assuming that s/he's not left in the Fade,I am quite happy with Hawke's epilogue moving back to Kirkwall while Varrick becomes the Viscount.
Looking back, Hawke has lost quite a lot in the course of DA2: father, one of the siblings, lived Kirkwall as a indentured servant for questionable people. Potentially losing another sibling (unless they go to the Chantry or become a Warden) then mother and much more. So I am happy that Hawke gets a somewhat happy ending.

It all depends on your choices and what you personally think is a bad or good outcome for your characters.
The Warden performing the Dark ritual + ongoing relationship with Morrigan = good ending.
Hawke becomning Viscount, thus marking the success of his ambition = good ending.
The Inquisitor's quote: "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a world to save. Again." = good ending.

A romanced Inquisitor is important to Dorian, but he's got a huge heart and a deep-seated sense of right and wrong, especially after associating with a high-approval Inquisitor. He wants to change his country for the better. Can't really do that just chillin' in Ferelden. Thank you. They are clearly still a couple and the epilogue also speaks of occasional visits. Both men also use the word "love" in some form during Trespasser. As a Dorianmancer, I'm satisfied with it and also think it's appropriate for Dorian as a character. As a player, I also recognize the necessity in having that distance because of whatever plans they may have for Dorian and/or the Inquisitor in DA4. I was thoroughly prepared for this eventuality by the dialogue in the base game. My Inquisitor isn't "happy," but he sees the necessity of it, and is also proud of Dorian for it.

My Cousland got a happy ending with Alistair - negative: they have given Solas even more power :S My Hawke, ran away with Anders, and though not ideal Kirkwall was beginning to be a haunting mess of bad memories at that point - Negative: My Hawke will be in hiding until Anders dies. My Lavellan had a heartbreaking ending as she romanced Solas - Now we will see what comes in the next installment. All the endings can be seen as bittersweet depending on your point of view.

Albeit, the Calling that will come soon enough if their quest to prevent its effects ended up fruitless.

Being nearly raped on your wedding day, your best friend being raped and your finance (who you may have wanted to marry) murdered. Then you return to the alienage to discover your friends and family have been sold into slavery. Surely that deserved a happy ending just as much? My Tabris actually got that because she romanced Zevran and they are off together searching or a cure but it is quite a different story if you fall for Alistair. Put him on the throne and he dumps you because you're not good enough to marry or, if you're really lucky (heavy sarcasm), you can harden him and stay on as his mistress. Keep him as a Warden and you get separated (and him potentially left in the Fade). Not sure if they reunite in the end or not.

But yeah, seeing your entire family and all the families, servants and guards who served you slaughtered would be highly traumatizing. And its not because Alistair doesn't want you if you are another race or mage, but because he can't. The way the society is, it just can't be done. And no, I am not saying that Tabris doesn't deserve a happy ending.
