Kandros here with an amazing video tale from our favorite Firebase Sandstorm. Sting returned in one piece from his mission, but we were no closer to discovering the mole. Word has been spreading amongst our APEX team members of his strategy, and I have had no shortage of soldiers asking to try their hand at sniffing out the mole.
Unfortunately, for us all, news about this important Firebase spread to the Remnant and Outlaw factions. Along with the Kett, they commandeered Sandstorm within hours of Sting's return to the Nexus. I needed someone to retake the occupied facility. A number of infiltrators and stealth grid specialists raised their hands, but I overruled them. There's only one person that I trusted to take back Sandstorm.
When we last saw the Human Juggernaut, he was warding off hordes of Beserkers, Hydras, and Adhis during a double hack mission on Sandstorm. He recently re-specced his build and loadout for maximum survivability and was ready to go. I asked him about his weapon choice, and he said, "The Sandstorm is returning to Sandstorm," as he showed me his newly buffed up Sandstorm Concussive. A fine choice, I told him, but do bring Viridin's Rozerad Siphon with you too. "Unlike Sting, I have no problems using Kett weaponry. Whatever works," he replied.
There was an anomaly around the Firebase when he arrived. His weapons appeared to do less damage on body shots, but weak point shots were incredibly effective. With the Sandstorm Concussive, our Juggernaut was able to create constant biotic explosions from weak point hits. The sound was music to our Juggernaut's ears, "This armor rocks!"
Retaking Sandstorm was not easy, and our Human Juggernaut had to handle an Upload on Wave 2, take out a Behemoth Boss on Wave 4, and retrieve some important files on Wave 6. He later told me that he had run our of Revive Packs and First Aid Kits during Wave 5. Within 2.5 waves to go, it had truly become a One Life to Live mission. But our Juggernaut stood tall and with the mighty Sandstorm, he retook the facility back into the Andromeda Initiative's hands... for now.

Gameplay notes:
APEX Mission: Retake An Occupied Facility with +200% Weapon Weak Point Bonus and -50% Weapon Damage.
Loadout: Sandstorm Concussive X and Rozerad Siphon I. I've written before how the Sandstorm Concussive is a beast and this video shows it in action. With 21 shots, you can take out a number of enemies with concussive explosions left and right. I suspect it would do decently well even on regular Platinum, though you would need to equip the Vulnerability VI (40%), Targeting System IV (60%) and Assault Rifle IV boosters (40%).
Boosters: Cyclonic Mod IV and Assault Rifle Amp III. The Assault Rifle Amp was to mitigate damage loss on body shots. Cyclonic for survivability, of course.
Equipment: Multicapacitor. Shields came back online in 2.4 seconds out of cover and 1.5 seconds in cover. This was helpful when I was kiting the enemies from the rooftop to Building 10.
Objectives
I attempted this mission three other times. The first time I actually made it all the way to extraction (with devices, retrieval and devices), but died while trying to jump the ledge on the rooftop with 11 seconds to go. The second time I died on a Wave 6 hack, and the third time I died on Wave 5. When I got Upload, I was thinking, oh boy, here we go again, but it was not that bad. Fortunately, the Ascendants did not jump into the circle with me, so I only had to freeze and push the Wraiths away with shockwave.
Boss objectives with the Behemoth are normally hard, but the Sandstorm and the damage resistance with the Juggernaut made it bearable. I just had to make sure the Boss was isolated from the rest of the enemies while I was shooting it in the head while standing in his energy drain bubble.
The last objective was great because I had used up all of my Revive Packs and First Aid Kits on Wave 5 (so much kiting on that Wave).
I didn't think that I could do a solo Platinum on Mass Effect Andromeda, but this APEX mission suited me well. I definitely think I could do it again on a regular Platinum on Sandstorm, but for now, I'm going to enjoy the moment.
Enjoy the video!
