Death Stranding confused the hell out of me...so I guess that is par for the course with Kojima. It is confusing, but I don't know... that game has some sort of appeal, it looks fantastic to me. I was confused, but in the "I wanna know more" kind of sense, not the "what the fuck is all this" kind of sense. And the creepiness here was kind of a selling point to me, or it will if it wasn't a PS4 exclusive

Its sensory overload at this point, trailers and weird takes on gameplay and all that is blending together and honestly...i'm seeing some cool things but not much i'm surefire going to pick up in the future.

Day 1 and 2 my favorites included: Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Anthem*, Gears stuff/Tactics, Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout 76. Going through more official lists, I can add: Indivisible, maybe (Overkill's) The Walking Dead, Tetris Effect, Sea of Solitude, maybe We Happy Few (depending on review comments on the campaign part), Kingdom Hearts, Metro Exodus. I guess. *sorta, lol
The gist is, I really like RPG-ish stuff, but some titles encourage me to explore a bit, at least if I can get through their earlier series parts.
Day 3 (Square Enix, Ubisoft, PC, Sony):
Square Enix -Jump Force: adore that it is happening, but not my thing. -Shadow of the Tomb Raider: as before, a thumb up. -Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit: I'm in. -Dragon Quest XI: as always, I'm torn. Love the series, but it grates on me, at the same time. -Babylon's Fall: wonderful, yet lacking detail. -Octopath Traveler: definitely interested to get on my boyfriend's Switch! -The Quiet Man: REALLY lacking detail, so whatever. -Kingdom Hearts 3: I want it, but as always with KH, never a rush. Good to hear later in day (Sony) that all the rest are coming in bundle!! Early purchase if I get a PS4 (I just want it on PC though...)
Ubisoft -Just Dance: bye. -Beyond Good and Evil 2: I still can't say much for it. Glad development is continuing, I guess, but I need to play the first one sitting in my Steam first. -Rainbow Six Siege: happy for its players, but not my thing. -Trials Rising: the cringe presentation almost actively turned me off. -The Division 2: but will I be able to catch up on the story in the first Division once most of the players clear out? ha. -Mario Rabbids DK: another my boyfriend will love, but my save file on the main game is still in the first world... cute though! -Skull and Bones: may end up fantastic for what its trying to be, but what its trying to be isn't compelling to me. -Transference: still not good enough... sorry Wood. -Starlink: another toy junk game, Star Fox doesn't even help. -For Honor (major update): gonna download! -The Crew 2: *shrug with slight smile* -Assassin's Creed: Odyssey: I THINK I'M IN! I see some little issues, but for once I'm excited to play an AC game and no one can stop me! Also getting my m/m on. -Space Junkies: more VR I can't play yet.
PC (let me get the videos open..) -Satisfactory: whoh.... dunno what it is though. -Neo Cab: no thanks, even the art style turns me off. -ANY BATTLE ROYALE OR OPEN SURVIVAL OR WHATEVER (skipping the titles): forget about it, for now. Ciao! -The Forgotten City: maybe I'll give it a shot. -Star Control Origins: not feeling it. -Archangel: Hellfire: disgusting really. -The Sinking City: I'm still into it! Gimmie! Hope its properly dreadful and not more of a joke by the end. -Maneater: shark stuff is boring to me. -Bravery Network Online: I'm not sure what this is supposed to be, but nice trailer music. -Morning Star: maybe worth a shot. -Jurassic World Evolution: put this into the happy it exists but not for me pile. -Overwhelm: highly pixeled is so gross to me. Quick pass. -Don't Starve Hamlet: tried with this some friends, maybe this can get us a push to return. -Night Call: whatever it is, I couldn't finish the trailer. -Sable: chill, but I'm not sure I care enough. -Star Citizen: this is never releasing, right? -SANIC -Noita: again... the pixels... -Two Point Hospital: cute, though I'll wait for reviews. -Ooblets: 0_0 -Anno 1800: beautiful! on the list for that genre.
Sony -The Last of Us: Part 2: looked so scripted.. but what seemed more like real gameplay, I was kinda into. I dunno, its hard to get me into post-apoc surviving against survivors and infected stuff.. -Ghost of Tsushima: undeniably beautiful, but like the post-apoc just mentioned, 'strictly asian' I feel similar about. But what story it had there, I was following. -Control: WHOH, GIMMIE. Unless it has a shit story or is bugged to hell. -Resident 2 Remake: any reason they're not starting with the first one? In any case, this is the first RE to get me psyched, just not enough for top favorites list perhaps. Really cool though. -Trover Saves the Universe: really disappointed. They're appearing to be one trick ponies by this point. Didn't laugh once. -Death Stranding: I'm buying into this. I want more. As long as it isn't so wandering as much of the trailer. -Nioh 2: gotta play the first. -Spiderman: again very scripted, but the gist, I can get into. Anything Spiderman isn't going to get my immediate buy though. -Déraciné: what the... sure? k?
My favorites today included: Octopath Traveler, Kingdom Hearts 3, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, The Sinking City, Control, Death Stranding. Could list at least a few more if I wanted.
I'll have my Top 10 tomorrow. Not sure if I'll number it or not.

Control is... REMEDY?!?! Daaaaamn. I LOVED Alan Wake! Trailer looked very cool. I'm intrigued.
Ghosts of Tsushima looks gorgeous. Like one of these artsy martial arts movies (Hero, House Of Flying Daggers) I loved. Really impressive visuals. Very cinematic. But not my type of gameplay, I'm afraid. So probably won't buy. But good job!
The Last Of Us 2... boy, the over the top brutal combat really turned me OFF. I never played the first game but watched it as a long movie and liked the story (even if a bit overrated imo). Combat was not my thing. It looks even less like my thing now. And those grotesque axe wielding enemies are awful. Looks really cartoony to me. Really puts me off the game right now. If the entire story is about this group I'll pass.
Kingdom Hearts 3? Yeah about ten years too late for me. It's like a different me played and loved those games. Good times but not buying out of nostalgia.

Hi there! I think so! Were you the one with the Chicken avatar or? I think I defended the Wii U and said that Nintendo wouldn't end it early to KaiserShep. And you were there. Also, I was always "Captain Obvious," so no name-changes for me. I definitely recognize your username, good to see some old faces!

Dat kiss...the feeds I was on went full blown nuclear when that came up...but why is anyone surprised? Did no one play/see TLoU: Left Behind...? Don't even need to have actually played left behind, when it was released certain internet sites went mental over that kiss, how any gamer doesn't know Ellie digs chicks is beyond me.

What the fuck was that? I mean, I was not expecting such an realistic looking game to have such an arcadey combat sistem. I was kind of hoping the combat would be more in the line of games such as For honor. With each blow having more weight and impact. And near the end, I just start chuckling. The protagonist companion betrays him for no reason whatsoever. At first she was perfectly willing to fend off the enemy and then it's suddenly "herp derp, we can't win so I kill you now", and right at the end he actually gives her sword back, somehow expecting she will fight the enemy for him again. All in all I felt rather underwhelmed... The way the fight starts, the assessment of the opposition, the strokes are correct. It's the movements that's off, unrealistic sliding back and forth of body and feet when the swords met; like they're on rollers / skates. It throws off the fight sequences. There is no betrayal. She merely wanted to kill the monk for a wrong he did to her family (from her words). Perhaps there's a reason she hasn't gotten to him until that moment. Perhaps she isn't of the village, perhaps she has been searching for him. She chose the wrong moment to take her vengeance. He gives the sword back to her. That is a gamble he takes. If she wants to live to take revenge, if she personally wants to kill the monk herself, she will fight. Of course, she can just take it and leave to chase after the monk. That is her decision. Whatever it is, he knows her and would rather she can defend herself from the Mongols. Giving it back also means he wants her to live, it can also mean he does not consider her action an ill-will deed against him. That he will not take it to heart. Such a story sequence is oft seen in Asian movies / tv series so I'm hardly surprised. On the whole, the graphics are good. They need to adjust the combat. I'd rather they speak in Japanese though not English. The spoken English detracts the atmosphere. I'd rather read subtitles. I've to say though, I at the fire arrows. I always do. Oh they look so awesome, fired in a hail but can never happen in real life.

Wich takes away a great deal from the... what's the right word? Mythos of the scene. In regards to gameplay, I'm hoping they improve animations over time. So far, I just don't dig it.

Man, this trailer takes me back. The memories that I've had with Kingdom Hearts… Can't wait to play this game.
I'm always into the idea of kingdom hearts when I see how much care went into adapting the disney characters, but then I'm always put off when that wimsical charm clashes with the rest.
Combat and gameplay-mechanics look really fun in these trailers.

Good E3, but Nintendo's conference could've laid off on the Smash Ultimate stuff.
E3 would have been a good time to announce or update more on unreleased titles. Smash should have gotten it's own direct.
I'm pretty happy about the scoop we got on the XB2 DLC. I really wanted to explore the timeframe of the first aegis war, every time I got glimpses from it in the main game.

No doubt Xenoblade fans will be excited. I'm not a Xenoblade fan though, so it's not for me.

At this point I'm pretty sure that Death Stranding will release before Kojima tells us what the fuck it's supposed to be. Anyway, having looked back at all the games that were announced over the course of E3, my list hasn't really changed much since the last time I posted it. - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
- Metro: Exodus
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Nioh 2
- Doom Eternal
Nioh 2 is provisional based on the assumption that they address some of the issues I had with the first game (namely the lack of enemy variety and obfuscation of a few mechanics, as well as some underwhelming boss fights in the DLCs). It's also one of the games I was thinking of when I made this post: I'm hearing interesting things. Keep your eyes open for some big surprises. Looks like a couple others didn't make it to the show, which is unfortunate but my understanding is they were being considered as last-minute additions, so not too surprising.

Don't have much time right now but here's my notes.
-boyfriend getting the Xenoblade DLC but won't watch the trailer for fear of spoilers haha -I like Octopath Traveler and Fire Emblem, and I'm open to Pokemon and Super Smash (I'll have to be, because they'll be at home anyway!)
My overall favorites: -Octopath Traveler -Kingdom Hearts 3 -Assassin's Creed: Odyssey -Sinking City -Control -Death Stranding -Valkyria Chronicles 4 -Fire Emblem: Three Houses -Fallout 76 (I guess...)
Lots of others I like, but either they're in series I prefer to catch up on, they're expansions/DLC, or not quite something I'm as certain I'll enjoy, though I'm interested. Or, like Anthem, I'm certain I'll be paying attention, but I'm not actually *interested* yet.

My favorites: -Metro Exodus -Dying Light 2 -Doom Eternal -Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Not sure, would like to see more: -Anthem (is better than I imagined, has my attention now) -Fallout 76 (the PvP element is a big turn off, but it is not as horrifying as I had feared. Specifics on the Co-op system and how players interact with each other need to be explained in detail before I start warming up to it) -Cyberpunk 2077 (curious, but the trailer just wasn't quite enough to cause any excitement) -Starfield (teaser didn't draw me in. While its nice to know we have another space adventure on our way, I'd like something a bit more substantial before jumping on the hype train)
E3 was a success, for me anyways, in that the reveals have gotten me excited for video games, and I really haven't been too nuts for games lately. Next year will be a good time to be a gamer, I think. Not for the wallet, though...

In no particular order... Ghost of Tsushima - Artstyle is impressive. Certainly going to keep an eye on it. The Last of Us 2 - Looks great. You can tell right away it's GotY contender. Death Stranding - Still no idea what's going on. Still hyped for it. Doom: Eternal - Given that ID's also releasing Rage 2, I was surprised to see it. As a huge Doom fan - can't wait! Assassin's Creed: Odyssey - Loved Origins, so this a definite buy for me. The new RPG elements are just icing on the cake here. Shadow of the Tomb Raider - The reboot has been great so far, and this is looking to be just as good. Beyond Good & Evil 2 - I just say forego the game, and just let their AMAZING trailer guys make a feature-length movie outta this. Control - By Remedy. Surprised! Came outta nowhere and looks fantastic. Starfield - Finally confirmed, and we know Beth's been working on it for years and is in a playable state. Maybe a late 2019 release...? Like Death Stranding, I have no idea what it's about, but I'm irrationally hyped for it anyway! Cyberpunk 2077 - It's CDPR, so... Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Looks promising. Metro: Exodus - Because... Metro.
